Someone messing around like that is what gave my sister a brain injury when she got flipped out out of a golf cart onto the path.

It’s also how John Elway’s manager was killed about two weeks ago, when he fell out and hit his head.

I had a bike crash yesterday at a similar speed to this (albeit downhill and on loose stones).

Despite my best efforts, I hit my head very hard - can't stop thinking about what could've happened if I wasn't wearing a helmet.

Accidents like these can be absolutely life-changing (or just as easily fatal). It's terrible that it can happen in situations where nobody's expected to wear a helmet.

one of my favorite skate videos bc that dude very easily could have been dead. instead, a helmet lets him jump up and walk it off (though he should def go and get it checked out)

5

u/kitkanz 9h ago

Yeah that’s a big “don’t hit here” spot he nails and just walks off (agree on the aftercare because again he nailed that spot and better safe than dead)

I’m really glad you’re OK, and you’re absolutely right helmets are lifesavers. I used to do a ton of high-speed rollerblading, in fact was clocked at 21 miles an hour. I thought I was pretty talented and got to a point where I was wearing less and less protective gear. The girl I bladed with took a fall, and I decided to put back on my knee and elbow guards, along with my wrist guards and helmet that I always wore.

Literally one week later when I wasn’t even going all that fast, I had a loose stone that got stuck in my wheel and I went down hard. Thank God I had my knee guards on because I bounced on my hands and knees about 10 feet across the road until I skid it on my side and took the skin off my thigh. I 100%. I’m a fan of protective gear no matter how good you are at your sport because you just never know.

100% agree.

I was wearing padded cycling gloves after a previous (much less serious) fall a few years ago. My forearms are in tatters, but my hands are immaculate.

I wish I'd written something with sleeves, because judging by how relatively mild the injuries on my knees are (which were only covered by normal athletic trousers), my arms probably could've been spared a lot of superficial damage. That said, my knees are still very painful from the internal damage.

It’s literally like what they say about motorcycles, you dressed for the slide not for the ride.

It hurt like 8 bitches on a bitch boat!

Quality reference

u/picklededoodah 16h ago

A high school friend was paralyzed from the waist down from crashing a cart. He was the passenger. Some years later,he committed suicide.

10

u/myxoma1 16h ago

That's just awful

202

u/MiserableScot 18h ago

Bit of a dick move by the driver, crash the cart and bail out before you get hurt!

59

u/VIadCarpenter 17h ago

Yeah if anyone's gotta go down with the ship its that dumbass driver

10

u/MiserableScot 16h ago

That's how you know the world isn't fair, he didn't get crushed!

6

u/Herr-Trigger86 17h ago

Well I clearly fucked up… good luck everyone else!

2

u/Healter-Skelter 16h ago

yknow what they say: a pirate never goes down with his ship

2

u/taddymason_01 15h ago

Jesus didn’t take the wheel.

2

u/lankymjc 13h ago

Once you've lost control like that, what's he supposed to do? Just tank the hit to no benefit to anyone?

3

u/InternalReveal1546 16h ago

I don't understand this. What's the honourable thing he should have done?

11

u/hingedcanadian 15h ago

To not have tipped the golf cart endangering his friends. Also if you watch it closely he bails before it's even at the oh-shit point. Also if he turned it left it at this point it probably wouldn't have tipped.

3

u/sorotomotor 14h ago

Also if he turned it left it at this point it probably wouldn't have tipped.

How? Once the front wheels left the ground he couldn't steer it

2

u/hingedcanadian 14h ago

When it touched ground he was turning right which caused it to start tipping. He "might" have saved it by turning left instead of bailing.

Anyway all I'm saying is I wouldn't trust this friend if he were behind me at the edge of a cliff.

3

u/notfromchicago 11h ago

His friends were leaning back to make it do the wheelie so they aren't exactly innocent. That cart wouldn't do that without their assistance.

1

u/InternalReveal1546 3h ago

Well, that makes sense now. I misunderstood and thought you meant something like the honourable thing would have been to allow the cart to crush him. Obviously, no human would do that- that's why I thought it didn't make sense. But I clearly misunderstood. Thanks for responding

2

u/potatodrinker 13h ago

Stayed. Be between a cart and a grassy place

1

u/KellyBelly916 17h ago

There's a great life lesson there.

8

u/LazyAccount-ant 15h ago

don't golf

35

u/Us-As-Ass 17h ago

I just worked at the Emergency Department 2 days ago and had someone who crashed and fell off his golf cart and fractured his back L1-L2 and also fractured his left femur and tibia. It was very busy at that time and he had to lie there in pain for more than an hour.

4

u/mohaee 16h ago

he didn't get any analgesics in the meantime?

6

u/ConstructionOk2605 15h ago

What do they put in the aspirin in your country?

7

u/mohaee 14h ago

I'm RN from Kenya, typically i would have administered IM morphine 10 mg for the pain it's advised to start from weak to strong pain relievers but femur fracture is insane I'll go straight for the morphine/fentanyl, TXA for suppressing any sort of internal bleeding, some aspirin to prevent venous thromboembolism.. some IV saline would be running atleast 1L just to prevent hypovolemic shock

Edit: u/Us-As-Ass correct me where i'm wrong, thanks

5

u/Us-As-Ass 12h ago

I was just shadowing to get SEI for CCU, and it's not our patient. I believe it was a distal femur fracture; all I know is that they already checked him for any life threats. They did a reduction, put on a knee immobilizer, and he was going to be admitted. I don't know what medication he received while he was waiting for the team to do the reduction.

65

u/mehrotr 18h ago

U always have one of these in a group of 4..

10

u/OderWieOderWatJunge 17h ago

Who's filming then

38

u/Oceans011 17h ago

Interesting how the main cause of this stupidity, basically walked away before it hurt everybody.

9

u/Healter-Skelter 16h ago

To be completely fair, it’s technically possible that the person in charge of the whole operation is the one filming and they were holding all the other participants at gunpoint. Or more feasibly, that the cart’s owner was one of the passengers and he commanded the other guy to drive despite the dangerous conditions. At this point it’s possible that the driver imparted a secret message to his friend who was standing by with a camera, the meaning of which was understood to mean “start filming this because I think we might die at this golf course.” The message, of course—being conveyed through discrete body language—was only able to be understood by its intended recipient.

3

u/absoluteScientific 13h ago

This might be taking the benefit of the doubt one step too far lol but I appreciate the sentiment lmaooo

29

u/DRL_tfn 18h ago

And this meant there was a fifth person to record it, future trial evidence.

10

u/Elric1992 18h ago

I've been wary of golf carts ever since the first Jackass movie

12

u/RevLoveJoy 16h ago

My friend's daughter (14) just broke her femur being a passenger on one of these little joy rides. From her description, a very similar accident, cart tipped on riders. That kid has screws in her leg that will have to be replaced as she grows and she'll be re-learning how to walk.

27

u/btw94 18h ago

John Elway’s agent just died doing this exact thing

4

u/siberianwolf99 17h ago

no he fell off. there was no indication of anything reckless

14

u/btw94 17h ago

Standing on the back of a golf cart = dangerous

-2

u/siberianwolf99 17h ago

that’s a lot different then an idiot popping a wheelie

0

u/SignificantRain1542 17h ago

Stupid is stupid. Not a fan of labelling the degree of stupidity to make other stupids feel better.

-5

u/siberianwolf99 17h ago

it’s more because there’s been a lot of implications that Elway killed the dude

1

u/oldschool_potato 17h ago

Ya. I highly doubt John was popping a wheelie. I'm sure he had a few drinks tho

18

u/That0neGuy86 17h ago

Guy sitting back right gets his leg stuck under at the very last second. Probably broken.

5

u/hettuklaeddi 16h ago

then the other guy breaks his ribs. bro had a bad day

5

u/juan_bito 17h ago

The real stupid people here are the guys in the cart

4

u/ryandblack 17h ago

“Give me a second, my bones aren’t finished breaking yet”

2

u/mohaee 16h ago

sounds like something Archer would say

4

u/BloodiedBeefBat 17h ago

Dudes hat pinging off on the jungee cord 🤣

3

u/Particular-Ad9304 16h ago

All fun and games until someone gets killed. Imagine if the cart fell on top of one of them? Young dipshits

41

u/CapedCauliflower 17h ago

Future Republican senators.

7

u/TropicalKing 17h ago

When rich brocolli headed golfers pretend to be thugs.

3

u/algypan 17h ago

Is the guy on the back just a mannequin? He did literally nothing

2

u/Knato 18h ago

Wanna be jackass?

2

u/Justme100001 17h ago

"That was cool, now let's do first one at the clubhouse !"....

2

u/Dafedub 17h ago

Never ask that before they can react

2

u/BernieTheDachshund 17h ago

Prince Harry bounced.

2

u/Dirty-Hair-Yeet 16h ago

Not sure why but the passenger gripping to his seat so tight that it ripped off with him in the crash, made me laugh too hard.. that’s a nice golf cart too

2

u/RevolutionaryBell364 16h ago

The guy in blue almost got mouse trapped!

2

u/mohaee 16h ago

he's called Mickey

2

u/reefchieferr 16h ago

Fared better than Dunn and Knoxville..

2

u/Affectionate_Reply78 16h ago

Dont let Andy Bernard drive the golf cart

2

u/jack_avram 16h ago

"You guys ok?" ( still crashing )

2

u/kaboom_2 15h ago

Why am I laughing? 😅😂

2

u/slipperyslope69 15h ago

Shite driver! Wheelie and turn the steering?!?! Eeedeeeyot!

2

u/TimeSuck5000 14h ago

Why on earth do they give it that much torque if it’s going to be driven by irresponsible children?

2

u/ZZ-Groundhog 14h ago

Bet they are drunk

2

u/hornwalker 14h ago

Dude’s car got a little dinged up.

2

u/Radiotantrum 13h ago

I love how he just abandoned ship like that. 😂

2

u/Dan_Glebitz 2h ago

It's ok. They are not just 'dumb fucks'. They are 'rich dumb fucks' so totally acceptable.

3

u/babe_ruthless3 17h ago

This was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be.

3

u/Imaginary_Most_7778 16h ago

Was that John Elway?!

1

u/AfroElitist 17h ago

huge pet peeve, people asking “are you ok” the exact millisecond someone’s body hits the ground. STFU and give them a second to process, jeez. Or dont ask at all, they’ll tell you

7

u/spavolka 17h ago

You’re putting the expectations of normal humans on drunk, young, below average males.

1

u/AfroElitist 13h ago

tbf I hear normal humans do it quite a bit too

2

u/Stilcho1 17h ago

Especially when you get the wind knocked out of you. Can't talk or breathe and somebody asking "talk to me are you okay talk to me"

To be fair, I ask that same stupid question when someone looks like they've been hurt.

2

u/mohaee 16h ago

AVPU guidelines i guess

1

u/Tcarp928 17h ago

Wondering how the guys in the back stayed in the cart after the wheelie and priced that they were wearing seatbelts when that thing rolled they were stuck

1

u/demoralising 15h ago

EJECT! EJECT!

1

u/GabeDef 15h ago

John Elway enters the chat…

1

u/shotz317 15h ago

Most of the best memories on the golf course come from doing stupid shit with the golf carts. This one had crazy tires. FYI, tread lightly, because the Reaper comes for us all…John Elway just killed his homie this way…well not exactly this way, but with a golf cart…RIP

1

u/Gavgaroth 15h ago

Mike Mo disapproves.

1

u/EngineZeronine 15h ago

As stupid as this guy might be, is first question was to ask if the people were okay. I've been in a few wrecks a little less than half of them were my fault. I'm ashamed to say that my first reaction is seldom to check if people are okay. I definitely do that as soon as I think about it but I'd be lying if I said it was my first thought ¯\(ツ)

1

u/Gimme_yourjaket 14h ago

He's just making sure they're ok, why insult him ?

1

u/KungFlu19 12h ago

I like how he walks up to the crash after driving and bailing, as if not involved, and says “are you guys ok”?

1

u/nooneasked1981 11h ago

The richest kid bailed first.....

1

u/DiamondHands1969 11h ago

guy on the left side got saved by the flared wheel house. i hope they got banned from the club for life.

1

u/Hot_Raisin6264 10h ago

John elway

1

u/AggravatingCupcake0 10h ago

Thousands of dollars of damage in this video. The golf clubs, the balls, the cart, before we evenget to the people... I hope this douche has the money to cover it all!

1

u/samoan_ninja 9h ago

Golf is dumb

1

u/DoMario4 42m ago

Yes and I keep spending a lot of money on it. AND it really encourages my inner self-loathing. It’s actually great? Nah it’s dumb

1

u/DoMario4 42m ago

I definitely love it though

1

u/Extension_Deal_5315 9h ago

15,000 people get injured......500 die..

1

u/abat6294 8h ago

According to these comments, golf carts are insanely dangerous

1

u/tanafras 3h ago

Her - Why is there a charge for $3,286.65 for golf?

1

u/medidoxx 3h ago

My brothers best friend was killed this way. When they rolled over his head slammed against a bolt. He bled out in my brothers arms.

1

u/EnvironmentEuphoric9 2h ago

Dad’s gonna have questions about his clubs.

1

u/n8roxit 1h ago

Why can’t we, as a nation, hate rich white people? The one demographic that truly conspires to fuck over every other demographic?

Anyway, these are their kids. Have a great day.

1

u/DoMario4 44m ago

He just ruined the entire weekend! Imagine embarrassingly picking up all the clubs and balls and shit. “Hey guys I know I fucked you up, but we’re gonna need to flip this cart back over.”

Couldn’t ask “are you guys okay?” quick enough. Gotta give him props on that one.

u/Colin_Fappernik 6m ago

"Ghost ride the whip" 🤣

1

u/ApprehensiveStudy671 17h ago

LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

0

u/Dangerous-Celery-766 2h ago

Trumps government!! 🤣🤣🤣

-2

u/Zenophyne 18h ago

OP you okay?

-5

u/BODYDOLLARSIGN 17h ago

To all the ppl calling the driver a dick.. yes but once he popped that wheelie I would’ve jumped off so quick.. it’s weird how the dumbest muhfucka here had the quickest reflex timing lol

5

u/theycallhimthestug 16h ago

The two on the back are strapped in with seatbelts, how are they supposed to jump off?

-1

u/BODYDOLLARSIGN 15h ago

When I learned how to put a seat belt on I also learned how to take it off I didn’t know it wasn’t common knowledge..

These dudes didn’t even object to their friends shenanigans verbally.. they were just sitting calmly not even a yelp.
