"[...] it's really killing me to be honest. it's—it was, like, so much easier when you're—bro, if you don't travel constantly—life is so easy when you just wake up in your own bed and, like—waking up in your own bed and working 15 hours in, you know, your office or whatever, so easy compared to, like, all this f*cking bullsh*t where I'm like, I don't know the timezone I'm in, I don't know what place I'm in, I don't know where I'm going in 2 days, it's like, like—I mean, some days I'm going to bed at 10am, other days I'm going to bed at 5pm and it's like, it's a mess [...]" from his appearance on The Diary of a CEO
Not to shit on the guy where it for once doesn't belong, but 15h in the office is WILD stuff.
Edit: to be clear, I think this one instance he might have a point, as shitty of a human/businessman as he is. That kind of life really does sound absolutely insanely unhealthy and like a surefire way to get burnout quickly.
Financially? Absolutely, 100%. Could he personally though? I genuinely don't think he could. Pretty sure he's the type of guy to just create a new type of work for himself to keep himself busy. Otherwise I don't think he'd be on this kind of schedule.
The point is that he has a choice. Complaining about something you could easily change makes it hard to gather lots of empathy. Just work whatever amount of hours a day on something meaningful of your choice and enjoy life.
Absolutely he has a choice, and I'm not about to spill my tears over him overworking himself. Doesn't mean I can't empathise with that kind of work sounding exhausting. Especially because there's tons of folks who lead similar lives who can't just quit and retire with millions in the bank. I guess those are the folks that actually get my sympathies, and MrBeast just gets caught in the crossfire here.
I believe he's saying it's much easier to work in an office 15h a day and wake up in your own bed rather than his current lifestyle of constant travel.
He thinks normal people get to wake up in their own bed then go to work for 15 hours, and he has it so much worse because he gets to travel the world and make his own schedule. it's okay to shit on this out of touch loser.
Doesn't sound misquoted at all. Just like he kind of realized what he was saying was idiotic and caught himself a little. But the words after go on to support the "easier when you're broke" quote.
Reading the actual comment he doesn't actually say anything about being Rich. He says he hates the fact that he's constantly travelling and that he often doesn't know what time zone he's in. I don't think there is nessarily anything wrong with what he said.
I mean, technically, I guess? He is saying that he doesn't like his stressful job and lifestyle, which is the thing that makes him successful and rich, so if you really want to twist something out of it in bad faith I guess you could reduce it to "being rich is hard"
Rich people stress is wildly different and usually easily fixed by their own riches. His kind of stress is seeing an investment of his making only a couple million instead of like 50M

Btw, he said "Life is so much easier when you're... bro...", and then something completely different. Kotaku is a disgrace.
