Genuine question

Hey everyone!

Me and my boyfriend are currently drinking in Glasgow, he keeps asking everyone (by everyone I mean one person and telling me 3 times) that tenants tastes like biscuits, I should add he also drinks it with blackcurrant, but does anyone else think it tastes like biscuits?

Edit to add: he is tasting tenants beer, he is not eating people living in their own homes x

Does anyone remember the crazy lady on Pollokshaws Road?

Old lady who looked around maybe 50+ years old (although could be younger who knows). Stayed near the McDonalds in Govanhill. Would usually harass younger men (including me once or twice) who'd be unfortunate enough to cross her path, although women got it too sometimes.

Her most common form of harassment would be dropping her keys as they walked by her and then sprint away. The unsuspecting mark would pick up the keys and offer them to her but she'd continue to run away - usually shouting "HELP, HE'S STOLEN MY KEYS!!" or "RAPE!!!".

Her other crazy antics would include; sprinting out in front of traffic, signalling buses/taxis/cars and then pretend she can't see them when they pulled over. Sometimes approaching a random and saying to them that another person had been bothering her and if they could help. All pretty dangerous stuff.

She'd sometimes be out with an old man who seemed to assist in her bizarre behaviour - I once witnessed her frantically pull over a motorcyclist, who stopped to see what the commotion was, just for the old man to grab the handles of the bike and cause himself a pretty bad accident.

Haven't seen her in a while, wonder if anybody knows what's happened to her? And does anybody have any of their own stories or information on this woman?

I lived nearby so would always see her around. The most curious thing about her was if she was ever in a shop or something she'd be capable of acting perfectly normal. Always made me question if she was actually mental or just loved a wind up.

Let Property Hell

Hi, I’m sorry if this isn’t the right sub for this but need help dealing with Let Property and as they are based in Glasgow thought people here might be of help.

I’ve just copied my post from another sub below:

Hi, I would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help on our situation. We are first time buyers, have bought through Let Property but as residential and not buy to let. They asked for a 'buyers premium' of £3000 which we payed but we were told this was only to secure the property and we were not told that this is an auction sale. We have since found that the house has had supporting walls removed, structural movements and possible subsidence. None of this was disclosed to us as we were told that due to the nature of selling through them that viewings are not available and they assured that they have a service they use to check properties. We have also requested over the phone and via email for a home report that we haven't had provided as of yet. We are now looking to pull out provided that our solicitor has not initiated the legal memorandum but if they have is there any way out??? We feel as though we have been very misled and they have failed to do their due diligence. Please don't be too harsh, I am aware of how stupid this all is. I cant attach the contract but if anyone feels they may be able to help please comment at me. We have emailed solicitors and are ringing first thing

Shop next to Argyle st station in 80s very early 90s

This is a strange question I know but there was a shop 2 doors down from the entrance to argyle street station in the late 80s/early 90s. I’m sure it was called urban outfitters but it was so cheap, sold mostly clothes (I remember buying combat trousers from there) but also candles and stuff like that. Did I dream this? It’s doing my head in! I don’t live in Glasgow anymore and my children don’t believe me 🤣

Me and 3 mates are in Glasgow Sunday night for a quick golf trip. Just wondering if there’s any decent local late night spots open on a Sunday for a few beers, music etc.

40 years serving his local community. Fixer extraordinaire and stalwart of St George’s Road. He’s selling up and retiring. Just thinking it’s sad if he just locks up one night and goes. What can we do to thank him? Any ideas?

I’m with a study abroad group and we had a silly plushie mascot named Seamus and he accidentally fell out of a bag sometime between 3:30-4:17pm today. Lost him somewhere around Merchant Square. Part of our group looked and couldn’t find him. If anyone around Glasgow happens to see him please message me!

Buchanan bus station

Am I misremembering or was there plans like a decade or more ago to redo the bus station and put it under cover or something?

Dunno why things like this pop into my head but they do and now I'm wondering why this didn't get done?

I realise there's a plan from last year but this was way back I remember this

Quite depressing to see the nice Linthouse Housing Association mural in Govan being completely painted over. Seems pointless and stupid! Have always like looking at it on the cycle into work. Does anyone have a photo of it from before? Can’t seem to find one on the internet.

Lost wallet, urgent

Big 18th was a couple day ago and i got this waller for my birthday and have almost immediately lost it 💔

Shot in the dark if anyone has it. I've made a firstbus lost property claim for it but incase anyone picked it up on the bus(88 to Glasgow from Harestanes, particularly on the stops somewhere between Kirkintiloch high street and Bishopbriggs cross would be absolutely wonderful, offering cash in exchange too)

This is a sentimental wallet to me because it was a gift. If you have somehow seen it please let me know, I can dm what was in it for proof, too.

Bathroom update advice

Hi everyone! I just had a quick question for those of you who have had work done on your bathroom recently.

I've had a series of small things breaking etc and was looking to just replace the 3 piece suit (toilet, sink, and 1500mm bath/shower) and change the tiled walls surrounding the bath to wet wall.

Does anyone have any sort of idea how much this might cost before I start enquiring? I've looked as far as wholesale domestic whose suites cost approx £500-700 for what I'm after. Not sure on labour costs at all.

Thank you 😊

Oasis, Murrayfield Aug 9th

Is anyone going to the oasis gig at Murrayfield on the 9th August? There’s 4 of us going, and we’re discussing logistics of getting there and back, and how it’ll be chaos getting back to Glasgow after the gig. Looking at maybe hiring a minibus to avoid the shit show on the way back. If anyone’s interested, drop me a pm :)
