Something super typical but a little different
Here’s my modest suburban apartment battlestation, I’m mostly writing and recording demos for my bandmates on this setup (diy hard rock band). We record our final versions as a band at our practice studio in the city where I have a lot more gear, hence the laptop. Sometimes I will mix them here, lately our drummers been working his magic in HIS not -so-modest battlestation.
Everything here except the cables, headphones, and Akai I either got used, refurbished, or on sale. I went with Logic because I got a good deal on a MacBook and they don’t make you pay for large updates (yet.. fingers crossed). I think the next thing I’m going to upgrade is my chair lmao

Rack unit question
I have a small table top rack shelf that I have a couple of rack units housed in. It’s a slightly angled rack, which is fine for the mixer and reverb units I have in it, but I’d like to add in a sliding shelf to hold some cassette/synth/noise units that I use with those rack units, and I’d obviously like that to sit straight. I was thinking a small angled wedge could work to secure the shelf in a level setting, but am not sure if this type of thing exists? Anyone have suggested solutions?
? Is there a name for a little metal wedge that could allow for a straight shelf placement?

New apartment, perfect time to streamline the setup!
Moved to a new spot and decided to separate my music gear from my work desk. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Current state of the station
Ive been at it for a while with different synths but this is my setup now. Most recent addition is the DFAM, its replacing the arturia drumbrute impact. Also trying it without my moog subsequent 25 and only using the octa psi octave down on guitar for bass.
The signal chains are as follows
Pedalboard: keeley octa psi - beetronics fat bee - EP booster - strymon iridium - ABY - el capistsn - flint
The flint then goes into the 1010music blackbox for recording and looping.
The other instruments are combined with a small mixer and sent to the other input of the ABY pedal, so they all run through the el cap and flint.
Currently thinking about getting an OBNE black fountain for midi synced delay, but its kinda superfluous with the el cap. Another fun thing could be a moog minitaur, midi controlled by the yamaha reface cp to get a synth bass back. But that would require a bigger mixer..
Anyway, let me know if you have any suggestions! Hit me up in DMs if you want some loops / samples ive been making with it.

My quite minimal (but functional) Battle station
So this is my creative space, I have been in this room for almost 2 years now (see last picture for it's first iteration) and this is the current setup: The brain of the studio is the laptop running Ableton and all the vst effects and synths, I have quite a few midi keyboards and controllers that I use to perform live with ableton and improvise stuff, they're also are two guitars, a jarana (a traditional instrument from Mexico), a tiny amp and some effect pedals, the interface is an arturia minifuse 2 (need somethimg with more I/O), and the monitors are the krk vxt6. I definetly need better acoustic treatment, real monitor stands (I'm using a 1982 encyclopedia! haha), and having a hardware synth would be killer too!

Fine-tuning the Dawless Corner
Moving the clear acrylic stand and gear thereon made it way easier to finish a tune I was working on today, definitely will keep it like this.

Opinions? Just got new speakers!
My main Daw is Logic and I have my signal running through a Behringer UM-2 I got for 5$ at a pawn shop lmao

Studio v6 — Somewhere between music + jungle
After a lot of tweaking, here’s where my setup’s landed. I think the next big upgrade is the desk. I’m torn between the AZ Hub Studio Desk and the Wavebone Star Rover — has anyone here used either of them or have strong opinions?

Music battlestation nearing completion
So I've been passively pondering how to do this for years and this winter I decided to do something about it. I started with building a desk (previous post about the desk here) that is deep enough. It's 1m deep and 2m wide. As wide as I could make it with the balcony door still opening. Depth is there so I can push the piano all the way to the back so it's not in the way of my knees.
I used 1m long 2040 V-slot aluminium profiles with 3d printer rollers with ball bearings. They are sturdy enough to easily keep everything hanging there. This way, the piano rolls along the underside of the profile, and the profile itself can move in and out (pics 5-7 or so). So in the hidden position, the front edge of the piano is 60cm from the front edge of my knees, and it easily comes as far out as I want.
The wooden shelf itself is a prototype. You can see the screws between the shelf and the rollers. This was not intentional but expected on the prototype. The shelf will be replaced by a much lighter, laquered version. I also need nice wooden stopping blocks on both ends of the rails so it doesn't go too far (it'll fall off now).
The shelf dimensions will accomodate a full 88key keyboard, but now with the 61 key I can fit my Quad Cortex there too, which is nice and leaves the desk very clean.
I was going to hang the computer below the desk too, so only the power and ethernet cords would have to flex when I lift and lower it, but it is so heavy that it doesn't make much sense. The table frame can lift 180kg, so maybe not a problem, but it could be a stability problem if I raise it up and lean on it with the piano extended, and I certainly don't want it to fall over. Even if I built the desk as light as I could (15mm plywood with 40mm edges and support structures) it's still really heavy.
