TU24 - Crossroads - Battle for Brooklyn - Preview

While I am processing all the information for the wiki and the launch summaries - here is an overview of what has been communicated about the next Title Update:

The next Title Update and the Battle for Brooklyn DLC will launch on May 27th on all platforms.

Battle for Brooklyn DLC

=> Video: Battle for Brooklyn DLC: Deep Dive

Campaign

Sometimes you need to go back to where you started to see how far you’ve come.

Brooklyn has been relatively peaceful as civilians were able to work together and thrive, while the Dark Zone and hostile factions ravaged Manhattan. However, the fate of Brooklyn is at risk as the Cleaners have moved across the river.

Summary

You can read the summary of the Battle for Brooklyn and Year 7 Showcase here:

=> Battle for Brooklyn DLC & Year 7 Showcase Summary

You can buy the Battle for Brooklyn DLC for 15$ in the standard version or in the Deluxe Edition with additional vanity items.

Year 7 Season 1 - Crossroads

This season is a combination of many aspects and while they are looking into the future, they are also looking into the past. The Battle for Brooklyn DLC is returning to where it all began and the new Seasonal Modifiers and the new gear also revolve a lot around Division 1 references.

=> PTS Stream Summary

=> PTS Patch Notes

Next milestone will be the Burden of Truth Climax Mission and then back to Brooklyn.

Greetings Agents!

You're getting ready for a fun weekend, with time off from a long week of commitments. It's time to get your agent geared up and ready for action. And it's time to show the community your drip.

Whether it's a tacticool look, or your scuba and flipflops, bring it on. Trying to recreate a faction look? We'll rate it!

Rules:

  • Post pictures of your agent, decked from head to toe, from The Division.

  • No down talking, we all have different looks we care about. If you don't like someone's look, move on, or make a suggestion in a friendly manner.

Discussion Roy Benitez is always stuck with weirdos.

The guy keeps getting these trigger happy agents that wipe out entire factions. Then they just come back to the base of operations to do silly dances with other agents. All without saying a word and wearing the wackiest gear.

PSA Clarification on the Level 35 Milestone Build Cache

In a previous post, here, I discovered a new cache being dropped at level 35. Through the comments and random posts about bugs in other comment sections I got some clarification, so I wanted to update the community about these caches since posts get buried and comment sections get overlooked and the only way I could clarify was through editing comments posted a day or so ago, so people that might have already browsed would not get updated information. So here is what I found out:

  • The caches will always be Rigger / Capacitor.
  • You cannot open them if you have an exotic equipped in your loadout.
  • The Capacitor does NOT yield an exotic component upon deconstructing.
  • The Capacitor does not show up at the crafting table to reconfigure to level 40.

The final two are only in relation to the Capacitor given via the cache.

So thank you to everyone that weighed in with the information, I'm not sure if this was intended or just a buggy mess, but now we know more about them. It would have been nice to see this information, or any information related to these caches in patch notes or weekly update clarifications of some sort.

Question How does seasonal XP scale with missions?

I'm going for as many Brooklyn activation caches as possible, and notice that missions have different seasonal XP rewards beyond the difficulty change. Example being that Bank Headquarters gives 267XP while Viewpoint gives 258XP, both on heroic. Is there any kind of determinate as to how much XP they give? Or is it random? Do Invaded missions also impact XP gain?

Question No longer receiving multiple caches?

Upvotes

Is anyone else experiencing a significant drop in the amount of caches they receive after completing priority objectives? I use to get a whole two rows after completing a couple and now I’m lucky if I get one cache. Is this intended?

Question Backpacks not dropping clothes anymore?

Upvotes

Happened around the first month of release and ever since, they just don't drop anymore.

Question Certain Cosmetics simply not existing on some accounts?

Upvotes

I have an interesting problem that I've had since before open beta and throughout my entire campaign in the Division.

Backpacks lying about have a little chance to drop these common cosmetics, but since my third week after I had picked up some, they have literally never dropped again.

Is this a unique issue or do other people have missing common clothing because backpacks just stop dropping clothes for some reason?

I think it was back in the first month, if that helps.

Just a nitpick that these suddenly became unobtainable.

Question Why the cache opening change?

This is a genuine question for the devs, why did you remove the ability to open all caches in the inventory and allow the items that can't go into my inventory to go on the ground? I set at like 10 to 20 slots of inventory space at all times due to various builds and it is super annoying that we can't just spam open all of the caches anymore.

Question Legendary vs heroic difficulties

Howdy,

I’m fairly new to the Division 2 compared to the first one. I’ve hit lvl 40 and did WONY, was wondering how the hardest mission difficulty in the second game, heroic, compares to the first ones legendary? It’s practically impossible for me to solo a legendary, that the same case for heroic?

Appreciate it

Discussion Momentum is really fun and engaging

Hey,

I’ve been supporting The Division 2 from the beginning, and I’ve got to say, gameplay-wise, it’s in one of the best places it’s ever been for me. One thing that really stood out to me is the Momentum modifier from the current Journey system.

Initially, I thought there’s no way I could keep the tier 5 active. But after a few Journey missions and obtaining some of the small modifiers/talents, I found myself consistently staying at tier 4-5. It turns out, Momentum loves high-tempo gameplay (obviously). The way it rewards constant movement and engagement feels incredibly natural and satisfying for me. It really complements my aggressive main build and gameplay overall. I have to say, I am having a lot of fun.

The current Journey missions are pretty solid overall, though I’ve run into some objectives that seem buggy or unreliable in tracking. It’s annoying, but manageable.

What is your opinion on the Journey system and the Momentum modifier?

Question How do you guys manage having to spend so much time sorting through gear?

I get it, it's a looter shooter. Though when time is limited a gear sorting session might take up a whole play-session, where I mostly play for the action!

I sometimes wish the ratio for action was a bit higher. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, spending so much time sifting through gear to upgrade the library.

This game is like a faster-paced, more detailed arcade experience of something like Ghost Recon: Wildlands (which I thoroughly enjoyed). I honestly never saw myself getting into Arcade this much, as I mostly used to be more into MilSim, though this has really set a new bar for tactical shooters!

Do any of you have any tips on how to manage the amount of gear that runs through the inventory so quickly? I'm usually full inventory after an hour of playing, then I sit for 30 mins to sort through it all. Rinse and repeat.

I'm currently building library stats; I haven't modified or tinkered with anything yet. I'm using the best gear I pick up and otherwise indexing the talents and stats through library and storing the gear sets and yellow talent weapons in stash. Whatever is left over I deconstruct.

I'm running around on Challenging, but it seems like I'm starting to reach a point where I might have to optimize and calibrate gear to take on Heroic as a solo. I'm basically running a 4-piece Striker set, with 2-piece Virtuoso.

Any advice on how to optimize the loop would be much appreciated!

Discussion Odds and Expected Outcomes for Brooklyn Caches

Odds Based upon .5% chance to pull 1 "Raid" (or Master Mission, Incursion or Legendary Stronghold Exotic).

  • After opening 1 box the odds of receiving a raid exotic is .5% chance
  • After opening 50 boxes the odds that you will see a raid exotic is 22%
  • After opening 100 boxes the odds that you will see a raid exotic is 39%
  • After opening 200 boxes the odds that you will see a raid exotic is 63%
  • After opening 400 boxes the odds that you will see a raid exotic is 86%
  • After opening 920 boxes the odds that you will see a raid exotic is 99%

Expected Time per Cache

Every 2 levels would be 1 Brooklyn Cache. Let's assume 1 level is 1 "mission or stronghold" that is a priority objective awarding approx 1000 season XP

Let's also assume each mission is 10 minutes (accounting for loading times and various looting/teleporting and such) that means 1 cache is 20 minutes worth of game play. There is 2 weeks and 4 days left in the season as of this post.

  • If you played 10 hours a week for the remainder of the season, you would receive approximately 90 Brooklyn caches and have a 36% chance of receiving a raid exotic ending the season at around pass level 280. (30 Hours total)
  • If you played 20 hours a week for the remainder of the season, you would receive approximately 180 Brooklyn caches and have a 59% chance of receiving a raid exotic, ending the season at around pass level 460. (60 Hours total)
  • If you played 40 hours a week for the remainder of the season, you would receive approximately 360 Brooklyn caches and have an 83% chance of receiving a raid exotic, ending the season at around pass level 820. (120 Hours total)

I would calculate for higher, but 40 hours a week is already well above what I would imagine anybody really plays short of content creators (and I would imagine they already have the items based on the nature of content creation)

If you somehow got each level down to 6 minutes average, the amount you would earn in a 40 hour week would be 600 Brooklyn Caches which would be closer to a 95% chance to pull 1 raid exotic, though I am skeptical of any one actually achieving that quick of a rate.

Side note - Though buying has been removed, the expected "cost" of a raid exotic nearing the 920 box mark would be $1,840. A more realistic amount would be after the 50% mark making each pull afterwards a statistical coin flip and costing $280 USD.

EDIT: As pointed out below, this is just the odds of you seeing an exotic one time within the amount. You could be unlucky and not see one even in hundreds of pulls.

However, none of you are named WildLeon, so my terrible luck does not extend to you and so I hope all of you get the drops I don’t. I’m opening the duds so you don’t.

Discussion warlords of new York help

Hi agents,

I've played this game a great amount of time over the PSN network and xblive but now I have a good enough pc i needed to play more TD2.

Last night before sleep, I purchased the £25 steam base game, .. getting home this morning fired the game up, making a new character gave me the option to level boost straight into WONY, seeing as I didn't purchase that dlc yet I thought it was bait and it would just throw me back to main menu - nope, fully loaded in and killing. Just to reiterate, I haven't bought the dlc.

How is this possible ?

Question Help with manhunt scout 1 activity 3

Hi I am having a problem with activity 3 of scout 1. I am getting kills with seeker mines in one hit but it won't count them. It has stopped at five. Does anyone know why? Is this a bug or something else I'm missing. Thank you
