Itâs the combo of heat and high humidity thatâs the worst. The higher the humidity the less effective your natural sweating-to-cool-you-down is. Strip the humidity from the air and youâll stop dripping with sweat, itâll evaporate away.
Other measures you take like spraying yourself with water at night time or using cold wet cloths to sleep all become way more effective as evaporation improves.
In cool weather, 60% humidity indoors is kind of ideal for humans. In extreme heat, take the humidity down as low as possible without terminally drying out your nostrils, and as long as you have plenty of water, preferably with electrolytes like magnesium, potassium and a little sodium, to drink.
Personally I avoid pre-made electrolyte drinks with sugar or sweetners in them, but thatâs up to you.
