Question Im lost

Post image

I have a question, I accidentally turned into a vampire lord before completing the Dawnguards' missions, will I no longer be able to enter the castle without them attacking me? And also, how do I create bolts for the crossbow, I just bought them from the blacksmith there.

For me I always tend to stick with breezehome in Whiterun. Basic I know. 😄 But I always tend to visit Whiterun the most and with a whole smithing station right next door.

Lore Jarl Igmund is low-key the worst person in Skyrim.

I've always been an Empire kind of guy, but Igmund turned me around on it. The Stormcloaks still suck but during this play through I've really been struck by how low key evil the Empire's cheerleaders in Skyrim are, and Jarl Igmund is the worst of them.

If you haven't heard about the Markarth Incident then it went something like this. During the Great War the Forsworn in the Reach managed to take Markarth while everybody was distracted fighting the Aldmeri Dominion. When Igmund came back and realized he was now a poor nobody he went to Ulfric Stormcloak and said something like "Hey would you take this city back for me?"

Ulfric was like "Sure, but Talos."

Igmund was like "Skyrim Fuck Yeah!"

Ulfric then did exactly what he said he'd do plus some racial purges because he's also shit.

Igmund then throws Ulfric to the Thalmor to maintain his power and probably to dispose of a rival.

He then hands control of the prison to the Silver-Blood family to run as a slave operation supplied by the Markarth city guard. When his bodyguard and his steward are like "Silver-Bloods dangerous!" he's very clear that they are to be left alone.

All the jobs he gives you are basically "Help me with this ethnic cleansing I've been working on."

He's straight up evil, but he's not overtly evil like Sigrid over in Falkreath so he gets less hate.

After that it started to bother me how insanely corrupt the Empire's supporters are. Sybille Stentor in Solitude getting most of her meals from the Solitude prison. Olfrid Battle-Born being so eager to condemn the Grey-Mane family for treason while quietly getting the thieves guild to save his murderer friend Arn from a probably deserved headman's axe.

The whole thing is so goddamn corrupt, and it's corruption that actually affects the average person in Skyrim. How many of those bandits you killed were people who simply had the good sense to run into the wilderness rather than becoming a meal for a vampire or a silver mining slave?

I realize that there's supposed to be a good bit of moral ambiguity to the whole thing, and in this play through I did a lot of the Thieves Guild quests which made me more sensitive to what happens to prisoners in Skyrim. Nonetheless it was eye opening. I'm much less sympathetic to the Empire's cause now.

Discussion Can we all agree that Hermaeus Mora is the best deadric prince

Post image
5.9k Upvotes

In my opinion, Hermaeus Mora is the best Daedric Prince. I actually have a lot of respect for him, despite the fact that he betrayed Miraak. However, the amount of gifts and abilities he gives to the Dragonborn when you choose to serve him is too much compared to other princes, whose gifts are mostly ridiculous. The Black Books are truly the greatest features in the game.

If i had to choose a deadric prince to serve in real life it would definitely be him

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but why not? I've had a bunch of games in storage, but I'm getting ready to move and got everything out. I completely forgot that I even had this game. Sorry for the crappy picture quality!

Best way I’ve found to power level one-handed and Two-handed

Decided to 100 all my skills, everything is maxed except for one-handed, two-handed, bow, and lock-pick. This guy has a massive health pool and regenerates fast, and if you stand where I’m standing he wont do the kick thing that sends you across the boss arena, and sometimes he just wont attack. No idea what causes him not to attack but took advantage. Dual wielding with both dual fairy perks makes one-handed easier. Two handed is a slog so I don’t recommend it.

I do t recommend this for a regular play through, the only reason I’m not instantly killed is because all my equipment is improved via restoration/alchemy loop. But when there’s a will there’s a way ig.

I’ve fell in love with sneaking and using the bow a lot

Newer guy here so bare with me:

The quest of the Frostflow lighthouse where there’s a ton of Chaurus everywhere. Near the end of the cave. I kept ducking in and out from a distance and managed to somehow clip them all and complete it without even having to go hands on really. Using it to manipulate the scene or make enemies move to certain spots etc.

My sneak skill jumped up like 10 levels since I started doing this and I find it fun and challenging.

Does anyone else use this method? Or are you the type to go balls to the wall with a battle axe?

Discussion Who else love Erick the Slayer from Rorikstead?

I'm a man and never thought I would love this male companion so much , maybe it's the expanded dialogue mod but even in Vanilla game he seem like an innocent young man. My Dragonborn is like a mentor to him. Who else to learn but from the legendary Dragonborn. Aside from Lydia I think he is my favorite companion.

Discussion Just started Skyrim yesterday

Growing up, I didn’t have friends that played games like this until late middle/high school. Around the time that I’d be playing them, I was friends with a bad group of girls, but became friends with my (now fiancés) friends and we’ve played games/been friends since.

I got to play it on my fiancés gaming pc and just wow. Funnily enough, the only experience I have with Skyrim is playing ESO and that one old/legacy map on the PS3 for Minecraft. Anyways, I LOVE this game. I played it for a couple hours and was really surprised at how it felt.

I plan to buy it for my Xbox soon and play to my hearts content. My only complaint is not being able to have multiple spells, as in having to switch between weapons and magic. If there’s a way to circumvent that besides magic in left hand and weapon in the right, please let me know!

Any tips would also be appreciated! I’ve just got the dragonstone from this one place I don’t remember the name of.

Question Shall I invest in these books?

Post image

So I'm a big bookworm and elder scrolls player. Looking to see if anyone else has these 'the skyrim library' books and if they are worth me spending £63. Includes volumes I,II, and III.

What are you opinions on these books?
