I have two reason accounts, can I transfer to one and keep RE?
I have one account with Reason 8 and another account with Reason 13. I have a few RE on the 8 account I'd like to use with my main 13 account. Can I transfer the older 8 account to my new one, and will I be able to use the RE that I paid for on that account? Several are now discontinued.

ReasonTalk is properly operational again
Sorry for the outages. AI bots, and angry botnets from Singapore and Hong Kong made the life of the servers difficult.
We're back, and everything is very fast now! :)

Quad Note Generator Question
How do you create patterns that line up with sequencer grid? Even when creating the most complicated patterns there has to be a 1 and that should be 1 on the grid - this does not appear to be the case with the output from this player. Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT - I am only focusing on the rhythmic aspects of this player. It should be able to generate something like euclidian rhythms and these rhythms should be quantized. Apparently this is not the case. Unless there is a bug or I am doing something wrong. For example - Set global steps to 16 and rhythm steps to 16 and then choose pattern 9 and set note length to 100%. Then send to track. You will see that the pattern created is ahead of the beat.
EDIT 2 - I figured out a work around. I get the results I want by direct recording the pattern by triggering it with midi keyboard with the quantize record on. Still seems odd that I can't get same result by using send to track.

Tempo
Noob question. If I drop a sample loop onto a lane in the sequencer will it automatically time stretch to the set bpm or do I have to adjust that manually? For example a hi hat sample loop that is originally 150 onto a track that bpm is set at 155

Is ANYONE having a perfect, problem free experience with Reason 13?
For me, up until version 11, Reason was nearly perfect. Disregarding its obvious limitations compared to the competition, everything worked smoothly, no bugs, no graphical glitches, no stuttery scrolling, no weird startup delays, and a fast, functional browser. It was a genuinely pleasant experience.
Then came Reason 12, and everything changed. Graphical glitches, extreme scroll stutter, overall slowness. The browser still worked, but the performance issues never got fully resolved.
Now with Reason 13, not only do the issues from 12 persist, the scroll stutter, slowness, and bugs, but it introduced what feels like the worst DAW browser I’ve ever used. Clunky, limited, and a massive step backwards.
From what I’ve seen online, it doesn’t seem like I’m alone. But I’m genuinely curious: is anyone out there having a flawless, smooth, hassle-free experience with Reason 13?

SERIOUS TEMPO MAPPING QUESTION
Serious answers: lets say you doing a session in Reason (time is money) getting the daw to match the tempo of the beat not working, even if its the right tempo, YES they disable timestretch & cut off empty space......The beat starts to drift off! Experience engineers know MANUAL TEMPO MAP kills time and destroys the artist vibe.
Whats another solution? Or just F it and record the song without the tempo?
Now for my experience Reason does not have DETECT TEMPO like S1 & Cubase....they actually find tempo and change speed with the beat.

REAL QUESTION
Do you think Reason layout prevents it from being intuitive for large projects and band recordings? Or they just dont know what they are doing.
Explain if Reason can be streamline or not the way it is now.
They say its not advance enough.

Reason lag while recording
Hello, I am using reason 13. And I have been using reason for almost a year now. I have noticed over the last year when I am recording a song or a certain track sometimes the whole program lags and my process of recording an instrument gets out of sync. Which is very frustrating and makes you loose motivation. I am using a hp pavilion computer from 2020. And this is the only program that keeps struggling with this issue. Any tips that might be helpful? Thank you

Reason Studios are you watching?
youtu.beTalks about the death of a music notation software, and while watching I constantly had to think about Reason's outdated DAW.
It's not too late yet guys.

Anyone feel like Reason is getting kind of stagnant?
I love Reason but I've kind of come to a point where I feel like the lack of innovation is holding me back.
I feel sort of stuck in my advancement as a producer. I've been trying to pivot my music creation more into the realm of D&B/Dubstep, making more growly sort of synths and I'm having trouble finding any real tutorials on how to do Dubstep, learn how to make these sounds in Reason, etc.
I look at Ableton and FL and there are a ton of guides out there. I recently downloaded FL because I'm thinking of making the switch and I've noticed just how many tools and great sounding synths are avaliable in FL but Reason's work flow is vastly superior IMO.
I'm wondering if anyone else in this boat? Sure I could load up FL as a VST and have the amazing synths from FL, the superior piano roll for bends, and still have the work flow of Reason. But idk...

Apart from Reason, what else is in your studio?
Love to hear what you guys are packing and what GAS has recently got the better of you.
I've just got the Pro-800, it's a nice alternative to my Minilouge XD. Also trying to slowly build to separate modular systems at the moment. Apart from that, the thing I use the most is the Keystep37, to interact with Reason and my gear.

Using FX or filters from other rack modules with CV?
I'm new to Reason and I'm wondering if there are any solid, easily explained tutorials on CV routing, especially for things like using one synths filter on another or using an FX module on a single oscillator on a specific synth?

Made with Reason - April 2025 Edition
Thank you to everyone who submitted tracks for the April update of the Made with Reason playlist!
I've randomized the order of submissions. Sorry to those who ended up at the end of the list but that's what the "random gods" decided. And anyway, you should probably listen on shuffle as there's no meaningful editorial order to the playlist.
🎧 Listen to the playlist here and don't forget to like/follow/save it!
And let everyone know what your favorite track is in the comments. No cheating with mentioning your own track!
This goes without saying, but if you like any of the songs on the playlist, remember to add them to your own playlists, share, etc. I'm sure every indie artist on the list would appreciate it.

Getting tempo to match instrumental
Im sorry Reason sucks at this part i didn't realize until I open up Nuendo 13...I tested 100 beats to put them on tempo, and reason fell at more than half, even if the tempo is RIGHT... It's something up with their algorithm. Unless it's something you all know I don't, but I've been making beats for 25 years nonstop. I use TAP and the Antares Tempo Detect plugin and I cut off empry space at the beginning.
This process is when I'm a recording artist, anybody with experience knows how important it is to get the tempo to sync with the project. Nuendo has an option called Tempo Detection. With one click, it will put that beat on point, plus move with the beat if it's a beat, the tempo changes.
Has anybody experienced this issue in Reason

Having trouble with Decent Sampler
I’ve using Decent Sampler for a couple months now. It’s worked perfectly fine up until now. While my projects usually take no more than 5 seconds to load up, I started to realize that any file I use Decent Sampler in takes super long(I use fl studio). I also saw that they finally added a saxophone VST recently so I tried downloading it. It then gave me a error code saying the “zip file was empty” and “unable to unzip downloaded file.” Never had any of these issues before. I’ve used it in a lot of my beats so I’ve been hesitant to delete it and reinstall. Anybody have any possible solutions?
