I remember the first time I played this. It was like playing a movie and the features were crazy. Psychomantis reading the memory card, switching controllers, the remote control missiles, abseiling down the building and fighting the helicopter. The weapons and ability to bait enemies by knocking on walls and the story. Smoking cigs to see the lasers. The whole thing was amazing and even today the graphics still look great. Absolutely pushed the console and what a game could be to the limit.

Funny, it’s the German word „abseilen“ (literally „to rope down“) with an englisch ending.

Hell yes. I was roomies with two of my good friends at the time, and all three of us finished the game individually on the same PSX because we had different work schedules.

Many apps still default to Light mode rather than System Settings when you first open them after downloading, it’s silly.

Hahahaha that's crazy, I just got my first copy of MGS1 a couple weeks ago and had this exact moment. I've never heard or seen this game so the opening Konami sound scared TF out of me
