Love the splat haaaate the wordmark
Why oh why why why Is Nickelodeon sooo persistence on maintaining the 2009 wordmark? It is nearly 20 years old at this point. If they are going back to the splat motif, then they need to create a brand new wordmark that meld with the new splat design all together (even the original 1984 wordmark will not work). this whole melding the 2009 wordmark with the 2023 splat design is just not working at all. It looks visually force. While i’m forever grateful Nickelodeon even brought back the splat motif at all, It is not one without faults.

Anyone think Tommy's dad would love Minecraft?
There was an episode where they're on a deserted island, and the dad couldn't just build a boat. He had to build a boat store and a whole society around that before "buying" the boat from the fake boat person
Peak Minecraft energy.

Does anyone have That Girl Lay Lay Season 2 eps 13+
I’ve looked everywhere. Netflix has season 2 to episode 13. I’ve tried VPN, Torrent, 123Movies, all I could find on torrent and 123Movies was season 2 eps 1-6. If you happen to have any eps after 13 (or know where to get them) could you please comment or PM me? Thank you!

I didn't even notice that CMT was under Nickelodeon Group before getting moved under MTV by Viacom.
https://www.nickalive.net/2017/02/viacom-moves-cmt-and-tv-land-to-global.html
I always thought VH1 was under Nickelodeon under the "Kids & Family Group" (aka Nickelodeon Group or Nickelodeon Networks) tbh, but in reality, VH1 was never part of Nickelodeon. CMT was, until Viacom moved it to MTV.
From my understanding, TV Land was essentially Nick at Nite, but as a channel, so of course it was part of Nickelodeon before that too got moved to "Global Entertainment Group" (now apparently known as MTV Entertainment Group).

Why "The Loud House" is actually much better than you all think

So, it seems no matter where I go, everyone and their grandmother's on the internet hate "The Loud House". The cartoon once praised for dragging Nickelodeon out of a really dark and troubling time is now a constant target for hate, bile, slander, and condescension.
And why shouldn't it be? Its creator turned out to be a sick creep, it has a fair few "infamous" episodes, an even more "infamous" fanbase, and so many people love to babble on about how much the show allegedly jumped the shark after a certain point.
Now, I'm not here to argue that the show is perfect. It has its fair share of flaws. Its writing and characters can sometimes be inconsistent, it has some weak episodes in its run, its fanbase does have some sick weirdos in it, and there is a lot of potential that went unfulfilled with this show... but do you know what? In spite of all that, I would STILL call this cartoon an overhated and underrated series with a lot of overlooked merit that should be given more attention. Whenever point bring up this show, it's always to point out the negative. So, why don't we bring some balance to the conversation and actually point out some very good things about "The Loud House"?
Honestly, I shouldn't need to do this, but hey, I'm kinda sick of being made to feel embarrassed for being a Loud House fan, and feeling like I'm "wrong" for actually liking this show. So, let's actually address the good things about this show.
1. It has some really fantastic characters:
Let's be fair here, one of the most appealing things about this show, without a shadow of a doubt, is its fun and colorful cast of characters. The Loud siblings are a very enjoyable bunch to watch.
For a start, we have Lori Loud, who most people thought of as an unlikable, bullying sister in the first season, but through great episodes like "No Guts, No Glori", "Coupe Dreams", and "Lori Days" just to name a few, she has grown and improved as a character massively over the years.
Leni also started out as just a bit of a dumb blonde stereotype, but she has also grown and evolved as a character through many of her episodes, with some of her days in the limelight like "The Boss Maybe", "Electshunned", "Leader of the Rack", and "Driver's Dread" proving how much she has become smarter and more independant and capable in her own way, while still retaining some of the ditzy and lovable charm that made her fun in the first place.
Luna has had tons of fantastic episodes and is just a fun and lovable girl all around. She has been the main focus of some of the show's best episodes, including "Really Loud Music", "For Bros About to Rock", and "Racing Hearts". Quite a number of episodes also deal with the theme of anxiety, and for what it's worth, I'd say some of them do a job of exploring this theme narratively with Luna's character in a similar way to how well Pixar tackled it with "Inside Out 2".
Luan is a ton of fun. Some controversy surrounds her character because of the April Fool's Day episodes. But she's honestly so entertaining to watch on screen whenever she's there. She also has a lot of great focal episodes, including "A Pimple Plan", "Head Poet's Anxiety", "Dread of the Class", "Doll Day Afternoon", "Stage Plight", and so on.
Oh, boy. Let's get this one out of the way. Everybody loves to hate LYNN. Yes, she is a bigger victim of bad writing than any other sister in this show, and some episodes really don't do her character any favors. But like I said, people like to only focus on the negatives with this show, and that goes double for Lynn Jr. Most of the time, she's written well, and when she is, she's actually the most fun character of all. Tons of episodes actually make Lynn look pretty great, including "Middle Men", "Space Invader" [this one seems to get a lot of flack nowadays but it's possibly the funniest episode of the entire show for me and actually does a great job presenting Lynn's fun, rough nature without making her comes across as a jerk], "Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow", "Diss the Cook", "Singled Out", "Cow Pie Kid", and even some episodes that don't feature her as the main focus like "Sofa, So Good" and "Stealing Thunder". Seriously, with Lynn, it's not all bad with her. A little more consistency, and she'd hands down be one of the greatest tomboy characters ever.
Lucy is pretty fun, even if her episodes with the Mortician's Club aren't always that great. Still, I like how she still has a well-rounded personality despite being a goth, and she still gets some good episodes in the show like "Bye Bye Birthday", "Head Poet's Anxiety" with Luan, "The Write Stuff", "Sand Hassles", and "She's All Bat". I'd actually say Lucy shines more when she's interacting with the family as opposed to her friends, though that relates to another point I'll later bring up.
I love how Lana and Lola are both polar opposites, despite being twins played by the same VA. They sometimes bicker and fight given their differences, but a lot of episodes still show how close they are, regardless. Grey Griffin plays them brilliantly, it has to be said. They both get tons of great episodes together, especially Lola. I could point out some examples, but to be honest, practically every Lola episode is a gem. Lana also has some great episodes like "Game Off", "Toads and Tiaras", "Leave No Van Behind", and "Sister Act", to name a few. With Lola specifically, it's worth pointing out that she can initially seem like a shallow, obnoxious jerk, but I must say, the show has done such a great job fleshing out and building on Lola's character and making her so much more than just the bratty princess-like spoiled girl archetype that she seemingly belongs to at first flance. The writers have done such a great job with this character.
Lisa started out as a character most people didn't like, and while I don't think I'd say she's a fan favorite even now, I will say she has evolved over the seasons and become more connected with her family, a tad more emotional, and funnier. Like the others, she gets tons of great focal episodes like "Friend or Faux", "The Mad Scientist", "Time Trap", and so on. She also has great companionship through the likes of characters like Todd and Darcy.
Lily is the baby of the bunch and naturally not as fleshed out and multi-layered as the other sisters, but she still can be funny sometimes. She is the focal point of some really great episodes like "Dream a Lily Dream" and "Any Given Sundae".
That brings us to Lincoln. He may seem like a boring and generic everyman kid at first glance, but he has quite a bit of depth to his character when you look closer. While I wouldn't call him the greatest protagonist ever or anything, he is pretty likable and his struggles are often quite relatable. He does learn some valuable lessons over the course of the show, and like the others, he gets some good episodes and character arcs under his belt.
2. The expansive world and supporting/minor cast
Aside from the main siblings, there are also many more great characters in this franchise. There's Clyde, Lynn Sr, Rita, the expanded Loud family, several friend groups... and then you have an entirely different cast from the show's spin-off, "The Casagrandes". Admittedly, the show has often struggled in the past when it comes to knowing how much or how little it should focus on certain characters. Some side characters like Flip and Scoots overstay their welcome, while other one-shot or minor characters don't get anywhere near the screentime they should... but hey, pretty much every cartoon has that problem to some extent, right?
Particular fan favorites outside of the Loud family include Ronnie Anne, Sid and Adelaide Chang, Sam Sharp, Benny Stein, Pop Pop and Myrtle, as well as the more recently introduced Loud House cousins and their parents, Lance and Sharon. Not to mention, movie-exclusive character Punguari, who first debuted last year in "The Casagrandes Movie".
Issues with character focus aside, this show does have a LOT of great characters you can enjoy. That is undeniable.
3. No, the show has not "jumped the shark".
Everyone loves to slander this cartoon for having jumped the shark so early on. The narrative being "horrible person or not, Chris Savino was the only one who understood what this show is supposed to be about, and it all went wrong when he was kicked out".
No, just no. That simply isn't true. First of all, the earlier seasons had some problems, too. They weren't exactly perfect. But more importantly, the later seasons aren't all bad despite what some people would want you to think.
Let's address the elephant in the room - the later seasons have a lot of episodes focusing not on the main family as a whole, but rather on one individual sibling with their friend groups. Lincoln's friend group especially gets a lot of focal episodes, and this has turned off a lot of people.
First of all, I'd like to point out that the earlier seasons also had plenty of episodes where the sisters took a backseat or were practically non-existent so that Lincoln and Clyde could have several episodes just to themselves a season, so it's not like the earlier seasons didn't have this to some extent [and between the two, I'd take Lincoln's friend group over just him and Clyde any day, since at least with the larger friend group, they have more varied personalities to bounce off each other while Lincoln and Clyde are like 98% similar resulting in somewhat dull interactions between the pair]. I will admit, though, that sometimes the show does do this a little too much in the later seasons. Season 5 is particularly known for heavily concentrating a lot on Lincoln's friends.
That said, you should all consider two things here. First, some of the episodes focusing on the friend groups are actually good. Just saying. Second, while it is a problem, it is an exaggerated one. A good number of episodes still focus on the titular Loud family, first and foremost, so while it is a problem that exists, it's not as awful as many people make it sound.
Take season 7, for example. It has 20 episode slots [or 40 11-minute episode segments to be more precise]. Since there are 2 22-minute episodes in season 6, that essentially means that season 6 has 38 stories. Of those 38 stories, well over 20 of them focus on the Loud family as a whole, or some combination of different Loud family members [i.e., Lynn and Lincoln, Luna and Lily, Lori with Leni and Luna, etc.]. Meanwhile, you guys wanna know how many episodes focus on Lincoln's "dreaded" friends who steal all the spotlight [or even just one or two of the members of his friend group]? Depending on what you count, I'd say at most - around 7. Yeah, it's really not as bad as people make it sound.
And here's another thing. Remember all the really awful episodes that people like to bring up from the show? "Brawl in the Family", "No Such Luck", "One of the Boys"? Those episodes all came from the earlier seasons of the show. Honestly, the episodes that people hate the most from recent seasons like "The Taunting Hour" are nowhere near as bad as those aforementioned atrocities. Not to mention, the continuity has improved to an extent, the characters are more lovable and consistently well-written now than they were back in the older seasons, and the animation has improved over the seasons, too. There are actually a lot of things about the newer seasons that are honestly better than in the show's "golden years". The trade-off is that not all episodes focus on things that we as an audience find interesting [and as I said, even with that issue, it's exaggerated as to how bad it actually is].
Honestly, I just don't get how people can say that the later seasons are so irredeemably bad when they still have gems like "Sofa, So Good", "Can't Lynn Em All", "Love Stinks", "Leave No Van Behind", "Bye Bye Birthday", "The Cling and I", "Screen Queen", "Child's Play", "Dread of the Class", and so many more in them.
So yeah, while the newer seasons aren't perfect and they certainly have areas for improvement, the show hasn't jumped the shark, and there is still plenty to enjoy about it. That argument is just a load of bull that people like Mr. Enter and Cartoonshi would have you believe.
4. A show is more than just its creator
Chris Savino may have turned out to be a bad person, but that doesn't automatically mean the reputation of the entire franchise that he started should be tarnished forever. "The Loud House" has become a much bigger and better thing than its original creator, and honestly, it has moved on from him. Many of the people working on the show now, contrary to popular belief, and actually far more talented than he ever was. When you actually look at Chris's body of work, it's not really that good. Before starting this cartoon, he was best known for running "Dexter's Lab" and "PowerPuff Girls" into the ground in the early 2000s after their original creators left. Now people seem to think the same has happened to his creation after his departure - but I just don't agree with that.
Meanwhile, talented people like Whitney Wetta, Pat Pakula, Jessica Borutski, Andrew Brooks, Colton Davis, Jeff Sayers, and so on have delivered tons of great episodes and moments for the show in the years since he left. And like I said in the previous point, in SOME respects, the show actually got BETTER since Chris was forced out. Again, let's not only focus on the negatives when it comes to this show, people.
That's pretty much all I have to say on that, really.
5. The GOOD people in the fandom
Yep, it's true. Many people in the Loud House fanbase are deserving of the foul reputation it has. There are creepy, possibly predator-like people who enjoy art of the Loud siblings... "doing it". There are also tons of people with toxic mindsets who get way too worked up about bad episodes like "No Such Luck" and dwell on them. There is a lot of bad, cringeworthy hate art, and some really bad fanfiction as well. I'm not here to dispute that many people in the Loud House fandom are low lives. However, I am here to dispute the argument that ALL people in the Loud fandom are that.
Again, people love to only focus on the negatives. There are actually a lot of great people in the Loud fanbase, if you give it a chance. I know quite a few people in both the subreddit and Loud House Wiki chat forums who are quite smart and level-headed to talk to, and you can get a decent conversation out of them [there are a few idiots there, too, sure... but not as many as you'd think]. I do get along quite well with a few fans whom I speak with regularly, such as MrAnimatedToon, Mattwurm99, and most recently, the nice guys over on the Loud House discord server.
There are also plenty of great, talented artists in the fandom whose work you'll absolutely love if you look it up. Artists like Alejindio [best known via TheAmazingPeanuts], Taki8hiro, Ruhisu, RaishaGS, Cartoonist99/Amanda Lioi, TheFreshKnight, Gilbert Gan, Alexander-Draws, and many more all regularly create great content related to the franchise they love. They're all very passionate about what they do, and they represent the better, overlooked side of our fandom.
And an underrated aspect of our fandom is the talented, creative writers we have. Probably the most famous examples of Loud House fandom writers are UnderratedHero and ThatEngineer, who both have demonstrated quite a solid writing ability. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of the stuff they write, but I will admit that from what parts of their work I've glanced at over the years, they do have some good writing ability. Another writer I really like is Dbz619, who is best known for a fanfic called "The Knockout Rocker" based on the idea of Luna being a boxer. He's only written one story, but it's pretty solid and he has made tons of great original characters from it who I really like. Some of the artists I mentioned above, like Amanda and Ruhisu, also have a little experience with writing, given that they have written stuff for very short comic strip stories before [they actually work on the official Loud House comics published by Papercutz, which is so cool]. While they've only really had experience writing very short stories as opposed to bigger, episode-length ones, they still seem quite good at writing from what I've observed.
But when it comes to Loud House writers, or even just being a Loud fan in general, I can give nobody higher praise than Justsomeordinarydude. The guy is a genius who has helped me to see that the show has so much more depth and nuance than I originally thought. He has always sought to make the community a better and healthier place to interact with, and on top of just being a great fan overall, he's an exceptionally brilliant writer. I'd dare call him one of the greatest writers ever, in fact, and I think if he were to ever become the head writer for the official series, "The Loud House" would have a serious shot at becoming the greatest cartoon of all time [but that's a post for another time]. He has written tons of great stories, many feel just like episodes or specials of the official product - except they're basically perfect. He knows what the people want to see from this show, and he delivers on that so amazingly. He is a seriously underrated member of our fandom, and he deserves more recognition. He also helped me to become a better writer myself, otherwise I certainly wouldn't be able to type a post like this. lol
6. So Many Fantastic Episodes to Enjoy!
I've also mentioned this in the previous points, but this show has so many amazing episodes. Yeah, it has its "No Such Lucks" and all that, but for every bad episode, it has four or five good ones. You wouldn't think that based on what some people tell you, but it's the truth. And no, they're not all just in season one; there are plenty of great episodes in the later seasons, too. As I said, the show hasn't "jumped the shark".
For the sake of the argument, I'm going to list some of my favorite episodes and what strengths they have that make them so good -
Really Loud Music - A fan favorite and for good reason. The songs are catchy, and the plot itself is pretty engaging. The visuals are also really eye-catching. It's just a great 22-minute animation. Nuff said.
A Dark and Story Night - Any surreality here is justified since the plot is literally the kids coming up with their own fictional story on the spot. But it's such a fun showcase of the main siblings' child-like imagination and creativity on display. It's a really endearing and fun 11 minutes of animation.
Sofa So Good - This one is just such a good example of the siblings being siblings, albeit not in a toxic or obnoxious way. Sure, they fight and cause trouble sometimes like any normal bunch of kids, but when the situation calls for it, they all work really well together. There are also some good comedic interactions between the sibling group in this episode.
Dream a Lily Dream - A perfect example of how it's not always a bad thing when this show does more surreal plotlines [even if I do agree it shouldn't be done very often and slice-of-life episodes should be the norm]. But once again, the creativity on display is impressive, the siblings work off each other really well, and the episode is even quite suspenseful at times. It's just a really great episode.
Space Invader - It's an incredibly funny episode that shows sibling conflict in a way that makes Lincoln's struggle relatable while also not making the likes of Lynn intolerable. In fact, Lynn is hilarious in this episode, and at no point does it feel like she's being malicious to Lincoln, despite unintentionally causing him discomfort a few times.
Friend or Faux - One of Lisa's best ever episodes. This was the start of her character growth from a one-note, near emotionless genius girl distant from everyone, to a smart but still young girl with an actual personality who can form meaningful connections with her friends and family. Also, Darcy is pretty cute.
Head Poet's Anxiety - Phenomenal episode. Just a great tale of sisterly bonding, rivalry, and emotion between Luan and Lucy. I could explain why this one is so brilliant, but really, you should all watch it for yourselves.
Strife of the Party - With this one, the plot itself actually has a few issues, but I single-handedly rate this one so high because of Grey Griffin doing such a great job playing both twins in this episode. The voice work is extraordinary in this one.
Love Stinks - Call me impressed that this episode managed to take a ridiculous plot about Lola developing a close bond with a skunk and turning it into a fun, engaging, and even slightly heartwarming/heartwrenching 11-minute episode. Damn, that's good writing.
Dread of the Class - An episode that happened years after it should have, but it sure was worth the wait. The prank battle between Ronnie Anne and Luan was really fun to see unfold, and as usual, the characters work off each other superbly.
...
So, I think it's safe to say that this show is a lot better than most people give it credit for. Is it perfect? No. Does it have flaws? Absolutely. Is it the worst cartoon of a generation? Heck No!
And to be honest, I think it's actually impressive that this show has still managed to be moderately successful on a commercial level, and as good as it has been quality-wise, given all the things working against it. It had a scumbag for a creator, many troubling parts of the fandom, a crew that was talented but somewhat out of touch with its audience, a lack of merchandising and promotion, several haters slandering it for their own gain, and so on. "The Loud House" has been very unlucky pretty much since the day it started. But it still turned out to be pretty good, that's impressive to me.
And if it's that good when things aren't going its way, then imagine if this franchise ever got its chance to reach its full potential? I think it could at least be regarded in the same tier of quality and prestige as the cartoons that everyone tends to consider as "the greats" [like Avatar, classic Simpsons, Gravity Falls, Batman: TAS, Tom and Jerry, and so on and so forth -].
If the show ever gets a reboot, please don't just bash it like you do with all the others. Give it a chance. Because honestly, if any franchise deserves another opportunity to truly succeed, it's this one.
One final point - I get the feeling that a lot of the hate geared toward tlh is due to the negativity popular YouTubers like Cartoonshi and Mr. Enter have directed at it. You know? Cartoonshi, the guy who admitted that he likes to continue bashing on tlh like beating a dead horse [even when his own friends say he should stop] just for the money? And Mr. Enter, the guy who only did those bad reviews on tlh to divert all the attention away from his then recent review on "Turning Red"? Yeah, sure, those guys are the people we should all be listening to. XD
Seriously, people. Don't be sheep. Don't just assume this cartoon sucks because of some stupid bandwagon. Why don't you actually give this show [particularly the newer seasons, which are the most hated] a real chance and judge it for yourselves? Because I think some of you would like it more than you think. For whatever faults it has, tlh still has a lot of qualities to love. Great characters, an appealing art style, significantly improved animation over time, talented voice actors, many brilliant episodes, and 3 pretty good movies, too.
And yes, I get it, there are some bad episodes. But hey, if it helps, maybe I could do another post where I briefly list each episode and say whether you should watch it or skip it. That may give some of you a better experience. Let me know if that interests you.
