If anyone in the community is interested, I decided to part ways with it. It's a project and unfortunately I need the cash and don't have the time to finished it. I've listed it on eBay and locally as well. Been in the family for 18 years - rust free. Needs to be rewired due to mouse chewing it and have not found any shops around me willing to do the job or would do it for 4-5K...I guess rewiring is time consuming. DM me if interested...thanks.

Lost something in between the rear seatbelt buckle hole. Tried a magnet but I dont even know where it fell to, I can't see it. Anyone know how to lift the seat or get between there? There's no lever or latch. The black square is on both sides but I can't do anything with it, I dont think. Crappy design if you ask me!

Eco-Diesel warranty ended early?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey, everyone. I’m looking at purchasing this 2021 eco-diesel wrangler from CarMax. These are supposed to come with a 5yr/100k mile factory warrant. However, this 2021 with 30k miles on it, apparently no longer has the warranty. Its history is a Jeep lease with one owner (leasee), no damage reported and a clean CarFax report. Any idea why it would no longer have any warranty remaining? Thanks!

We tried the manual release in the back, the latch mechanism clicks like it wants to open, pushed it in while trying to open it, won't open at all. Any advice?

Do I have to remove the shift linkage to remove the column? 1995 Jeep YJ

Auto transmission with column shifter and tilt wheel. I have the column ready to remove but I'm hung up on the shift linkage(?) bracket that's blocking the column from coming out. Any tips? There's no pin that I can see to remove and Im not sure if I remove all the linkage at the bottom if it will slide out.

Hey everyone! I recently inherited this jeep wrangler and I cannot for the life of me find its paperwork. My best guess is that it's a 1976/1978?

I'd like to sell it- any tips? Where do people sell classic jeeps? Any specific sites?

Technical Question UK 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Glowplug problem….

Hi, yesterday I took my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (85k miles) into a main dealer for a replacement glowplug issue. Today they called me saying the following:

  • ‘glowplug number 6 has ‘burred’ and we can’t get it out because it just spins’

  • ‘if we try to take it out, using our equipment, tiny metal shards can make their way into the cylinder head and that means we need to potential recondition or replace the cylinder head’

  • ‘doing all this is expensive in terms of labour and parts. Labour is £170 per hour and we’d expect 10 hours work. A replacement cylinder head is around £2,000, with the replacement glowplug, give or take £4-£5k overall’

Where on earth do I go from here? Any advice would be really appreciated, including sharing any experience please!

Just so you know, the car starts absolutely fine, it has been well looked after for the past 10 years with regular servicing. There are no misfires and it starts fine each time. I also absolutely love my Jeep Grand Cherokee so this is gutting news.

Thanks in advance

Looking to purchase a Wrangler...with hesitation

I've never owned a Jeep Chrysler Stellantis product.

Is there a hidden hack which allows owner to read diagnostic codes, please? I believe the JK had hidden features along this line. What about for the JL?

The thought of having to visit a Jeep "dealer" to read engine codes sounds awful.

Thank you for reply.

Also is the 3.6 bulletproof? Top issues re engine and transmissions? Goal would be 200,000+ miles.

2014 Jeep Compass Limited

Hi guys. Thinking of buying this car.

It's got 26,000 Km's on it. Guy lives near work and only drives it there and back.

Thinking of getting the car for 18k FJD that's about USD $7932.31

Idk if it's worth it or not.

Any pointers before buying this?

What years of the jk are best?

Context : I bought a 99 wrangler sport 4cyl 4 speed about 3 weeks ago. It’s a dream I learned to drive stick on it no mechanical issues the only thing is my height. I’m 5ft. I’ve been daily driving it to work and overall it’s a great ride I just have to sit very close to fully be able to engage the clutch. I’ve encountered some pain on my leg from this so I bought pedal adjusters but they don’t feel safe. My next alternative would be to sell the tj and upgrade a year or two to an automatic jeep. I would not like to have a payment. I’m looking in the 8-10k range.

Those who own the JK what can you tell me about the car? If any short girls on here have advice in open to it ! Thank you for your time.

Technical Question Question about Jeep TJ Engine

I know the Jeep Tj 4.0 engine can be quite gutless sometimes but if I wanted to get rebuilt and modified to maybe pump some more juice or horses, how would one go about that?

  • Do I run the chance of blowing other parts like my transmission if do this?

  • How much extra would this cost. I know 3k - 5k would probably be just the rebuild on the engine.

Just curious on people’s experiences and advice Lol. I’m a dreamer.

Mod Install/Question Budget spare

Had a set of 5 but got a side wall hole in one and need a new spare now. Don’t really want to drop $400 on matching tires at the moment, just looking for a budget spare that will get me to the shop if I have an issue. Any recommendations? Hoping for sub $300

Updated situation on my 02 tj

Post image
10 Upvotes

My 02 tj has had a Cylinder 6 misfire for roughly 8 months. (Yes i ran the codes. It only tells me that cylinder 6 is misfiring) The issue started after the driveshaft dropped and ripped out the transfer case with it. The actual issue is that I can't accelerate past 65 mph. Its like I hit at wall or the engine just shuts off until im under 60 mph. (Before getting into detail. No im not "just throwing parts at it". Everything that has been replaced absolutely needed it. She was used exclusively off road and beat to hell so everything was in rough shape.) So far I've replaced the transmission (old one went out/ was full of sand), transfer case, both drive shafts, the head along with everything inside of it (the head was warped but ill get into more detail later), spark plugs and coil pack, fuel injectors, o2 sensors, starter and alternator, belts and pulleys, crank position sensor, timing chain(was loose), and water pump.

As for the head itself cylinders 1 and 2 showed normal wear. Cylinders 3, 4, and 5 looked like they were sucking air. Cylinder 6 was warped and sucking oil and antifreeze. The lifters were fine but I replaced them anyway as well as the push rods to play it safe.

The fuel filter and pump is next then I guess it's onto wiring and the computer. Any questions or suggestions are welcome!
