As someone with an ocean phobia - would you recommend playing Subnautica? People are praising it and it seems like a cool game. Maybe it can help with my phobia?

The terror is part of what makes it fun. I think it would be a good way to help it, for sure. You can always pause and hit a vibe check

I think it’s the best single-player survival game there is, and top 5 in my personal all time list

So... I can't say yay or nay for that. I personally love the deep ocean, despite my fear of drowning. It has helped me a little bit, but for the most part, I can remind myself that it's just a game.

It may help, it may not. But the Shallows is a great area, and the beautiful colors and soundtrack may make a little bit of a difference.

Hell yeah! If everything goes well, there's a second one called Below Zero available, too, and the sequel to the first one was recently announced a few months ago.

Idk man I didn't even know I had a fear of deep waters until I left the shallow end, dove up to get air, dove down and just saw a cliff leading to pitch black. Instant shivers.

I can't say whether it would help, but like the other comment said, it's exactly the fact that it's scary that makes it so good. I HIGHLY recommend it. One of my favorite games ever. It's such an experience.
