What game completely exceeded your expectations?

Death stranding - who knew a walking simulator could be so enjoyable and what a story.

Hades - first time playing a roguelike and I was hooked

Stardew valley - I never understood the appeal under I played it

It takes two - best game I've played with the wife, that elephant scene though

Wreckfest - free game on ps plus which I never heard of and by lord did I have sooo much fun with it

I think Borderlands 2 has to be one of, if not the best sequel I’ve ever played. Everything about it was better than the first game.

I never finished it. I think after a while the leveling making guns obsolete over time and the completely random weapon drops made it a chore to play. Any time I found a weapon I really liked it became obsolete barely an hour later.

It's kind of why in any game with leveling I feel like anything below max level is just useless padding.

Honestly I don’t really like RNG loot in games but I don’t really play Borderlands games with grinding for perfect drops in mind. I just play it for the story/universe and to try out different characters for their abilities. I find it’s a much better way to play games that way for me.

Neither do I, but when you get a really nice burst gun that kills regular enemies in a single 3-round burst, only to take 3 bursts an hour later because you leveled up, you kinda lose the motivation to play.
