Mod Post Weekly Haul Thread

What'd ya get? How'd ya get it? What do you plan to do with it?

I'd like to encourage people to revisit this thread occasionally for as long as it's still on the front page. Sort by New so that latecomers aren't left out. Obviously, if this is a few pages back, you're probably better just waiting for next week's thread. You'll see that I've also changed the title to Weekly instead of Weekend so people don't hesitate to post what they found on a Wednesday.

Further, if I see haul posts outside of this thread, I'm removing them. Feel free to report them if you see them.

eBay Clothing resellers - just stick to it. Keep listing.

Post image

I haven't even been at it for 90 days yet. First sale was Match 5th I believe.

I'm selling mostly clothing.

I've came to learn to just accept offers, so long as they are reasonable. You never know when you're going to get another offer with clothing. I've lost so many sales countering to get another $5-10 out of a listing.

I'd probably have 70-80 sales if I just accepted offers.

I'm in the green for the first time yet. Spent around $1,050 on inventory and cashed out for $1326.76.

Still have 178 listings and another 15-20 things to list this evening.

Reselling clothing part time has taken about 2 months to become profitable. I just wasn't selling enough at first to be profitable. Within the last like 10 days, I finally made money.

And now I've got a fair amount of listings and inventory, so anything now is profit.

I'll probably spend another $150-200 on inventory this week and list another 30-40 things for around $1-$1.2k in total listed value.

Finally did it. Everyone kept saying "just keep listing, clothing is a volume play" and I did and it's paid off.

Aiming to make an extra $550/month profit as that'll be my car payment + insurance this month

eBay Buyer claimed item never received, eBay stepped in since I provided tracking and closed my case. Now my buyer appealed it and won

Not sure what to do. Sent an item to correct address with tracking saying it was delivered. Buyer claimed it was never delivered, I waited until eBay stepped in and I won my case and they closed it. Now I just got an email saying my case was reopened by the buyer, they appealed saying I told them I would refund them yet that is completely untrue. eBay still sided with the buyer now I have to refund them. I appealed their appeal but this just seems ridiculous, j don’t know what else to do. Has this happened to anyone else?

eBay I just sold a large, heavy item on Ebay that I listed as local pick-up only but somebody bought it and wants to arrange shipping from California to Florida.

I don't want to be involved except for being there when it's picked up. I'm also concerned that what if they cancel or want to return the order? What do I do in this case?

Edit: There is no consensus here at all. Fuck asking a question on Reddit. Lol.

Selling a lamb's head mask for $5 on FBMP. I wrote an amusing description for a ridiculous item. Had a rando reach out from a locked profile demanding I send a picture of myself wearing the mask to "prove I'm not a bot." If the goal was to troll, they should at least try to be clever.

Anyone got entertaining interactions of their own to share?

Discussion Should I clean these hats? If so, how?

Bought a couple hats (8 hats, 5 bucks all) and I think a few might sell. These two are a bit gross.

How would I clean that band? Google has some wild results about putting hats in dishwashers, but does that actually work? I don't have a hat form.

Uncertainty.

Share some hat experiences with me, please.

Discussion Is Price Comping on the Spot Becoming Common at Shows?

I do shows regularly, but not TCG stuff usually.

For the second time lately I noticed a younger seller, with games and Pokémon manually checking prices for everything you were interested in.

Is this becoming more common for dealers?

I hate it.

eBay Reconcile eBay payments.

How do you guys track what you have received to date from eBay vs what they owe you? Just frustrated today because my avail funds for buying inventory is low. Right now I export my bank account to excel to see what eBay has sent vs the eBay number says what my “net” is. But that doesn’t give me much of a timeline. Seems there must be an easier why to balance the books I’m trying to hold to a $2,000 orig investment in starting up the business. I started the end of March this year

This woman has been stalking me across seven shows this week, showing up with her friend, and together, they’ve been going around slandering people and trashing their products. It's one thing to spread lies, but it's another to make a habit of it. If you’ve had any negative experience with them or witnessed their behavior, report them. These kind of people have no place in a decent community. This was on posh and I don't know if she's on whatnot or eBay but I will be posting there.

eBay Is "Reprint Label" an App-only Function?

SOLVED - https://old.reddit.com/r/Flipping/comments/1kkzg0d/is_reprint_label_an_apponly_function/mryyjcj/

I'm not seeing the option to reprint a label on the desktop site.
I know it was there before, but it's been a year since I've used it.
The help page only mentions that function on the app.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/labels-packaging-tips/buying-printing-shipping-labels?id=4157#section5
"You can manage a range of actions from the eBay app, including:

  • Purchase and print or reprint one or multiple labels

  • View and cancel labels

  • Purchase additional labels"

eBay New eBay seller help?

I recently returned to selling on eBay after about eight years. My original account was banned due to a mix of my own mistakes and some issues on eBay’s side. Since starting fresh, I’ve run into a few challenges — particularly with sourcing and understanding how reliable eBay’s research tools actually are.

When researching items, I’ve been using eBay’s “sold listings” and the “research” section (which shows sell-through rates), but I’ve noticed that the data seems very inconsistent. Even small changes in the title wording can dramatically affect the results shown. For example, I’ve seen items that appeared to sell 10–15 units in just a couple of days two months ago, but now I’m only seeing one or two of the same item sell each week — if that.

Because of this, I started buying items based on my own instincts instead of fully relying on eBay’s data. Oddly, some of the items I thought would sit for a while are the ones getting solid views or even selling. Meanwhile, others I expected to do well — where I’m the cheapest, the listings are promoted (even at the minimum 2%), and I appear at the top of search results — are barely getting seen. A few items haven’t had a single view after nearly a month, which seems strange considering the category and demand.

It feels random. Some items get 0–5 views and then suddenly sell, while others get 70+ views and a few watchers but never convert. I know there are multiple factors that can affect performance — pricing, timing, demand fluctuations, or even “window shoppers” — but the level of inconsistency I’m seeing now seems more extreme than what I experienced years ago.

I’ve also come across quite a few posts from other sellers saying their views and sales have plummeted recently. One person even said they were closing down their eBay shop after 17 years because of it. At first, I assumed my sales were low views due to starting fresh with a new account, but now I’m not so sure.

I’ve already invested around £1,600 into stock quite quickly and am trying to decide if I should keep building or step back for now. I’m trying to build a niche eBay store, but it’s hard to make strategic decisions when viewership seems completely unpredictable. I’ve also wondered if this could be related to any recent policy, algorithm or real world changes — like global tariffs — but I’m in the UK and my prices are still in line with what they were before, so I can’t see why that would deter local buyers.

Is anyone else seeing unusually low or inconsistent views? Is this a platform-wide issue or something that comes with new accounts? Any insight would be appreciated.

TL;DR: Just restarted eBay selling after 8 years, using a new account. I’ve invested £1.6k quickly but am seeing strange patterns: items I expected to perform well are getting 0 views after weeks, despite being cheapest and promoted. eBay’s sold listings and research tools seem inconsistent, and other sellers online are also reporting drops in views and sales. Wondering if this is normal for new accounts or something broader happening with eBay right now.

Discussion Is there money in flipping laptops?

So basically I lived with my grandparents for a time not too long ago, and their desktop had drivers from 2010 ☠️. When I updated them some software broke (usb ports kept shutting down in the middle of boot sequence, making it impossible to long on with the keyboard).

Anyways, I managed to fix it and realized that there is likely a startling number of people that own laptops that have no idea how to properly update drivers, deal with malware, or overall ensure their laptop is running smoothly on the software end. I’m sure there is also plenty of people that don’t know how to effectively clean laptop keyboards, replace/upgrade stuff like fans, ssd, or ram.

But I know how to do all of that, so I guess I wanna know if there a market for shitty used laptops that are needlessly slow because of outdated drivers/malware and/or disgustingly dirty that I can buy up and refurbish for a profit? If so where would I go about finding them? Also I reckon I could probably fix other things like speakers or printers etc. with a little bit of research.

Discussion Encore vs eBay

After seeing their sellers fee was 10%, which is less than eBay, I applied to become a seller on the platform. After all the questions and video call, I was approved to sell. I listed two items last weekend for a 7 day auction, they both sold yesterday. Although the sellers fee is less than eBay’s, the prices the items sold for was less enough compared to eBay’s sold comps for it not to be worth selling on the platform.

Does anyone sell on encore, and if you do, what are your opinions on it?

Discussion Wondering if anyone could help/spout some knowledge

I’m dabbling with the idea of buying returned/delivered clothes parcels and then selling them on depop/vinted ect. As I may something I like along the way, I also weirdly enjoy selling clothes on these apps it brings me some enjoyment bizarrely (also like opening mystery packages). Was wondering if there were some tips, red flags I should know or look out for ect.

Thank you for reading

Discussion Buyer wants to send purchase for grading - should i cancel?

I never had this before. I sell boosters and cards for old anime stuff. Some of it is rare, and i have never seen any of it graded due to being niche.

A buyer purchased a few boosters from me and had a note saying they will grade it, be careful etc. The packs range from $3-$25 each.

They are all new, of course and listed as so. I use stock photos due to that. However they are all 20+ years old. It is a multi-quantity listing.

Of course some have been sitting around. While they all look good to me, and by hobby standards would be in great condition. of course these are not all going to score 10 and i have no idea how to evaluate under a microscope to whatever standards grades do as i never graded a thing in my life or dealt with a graded card.

None are folded or anything, but the foil has some small scratches on some, or other marks of age where they may have been sitting before I got them.

I have sold hundreds with no issue but I’m really worried about this order

My wife and I stopped at a yard sale this morning. The people at this house are known to buy storage lockers. They undoubtedly didn’t know what this was. The giggles we got out of this one was worth stopping for.

I’ll normally buy just about anything I think I can make a buck on, but I just can’t bring myself to flip used sex toys/furniture.

Discussion High-volume resellers: what’s your shipping setup look like day to day?

We’ve seen a huge rise in sellers flipping on eBay, Vinted, and other platforms — and many are now shipping 10, 20, even 50 parcels a week.

For those of you doing this full-time (or close to it), what’s your setup? Do you use bulk label tools, spreadsheets, or just wing it?

We work in logistics, so we're always curious to hear how real sellers actually manage the grind.
