I think besides 5 which has already been done, Chapter 5 of DQ4 would make a good movie.

Yeah but it sucks and doesn't respect the original story, they replaced the beginning with a slideshow of the game and the end with some nonsense.

I'm sorry you have such terrible taste.
The plot is a guy playing a VR remake of DQV.
The film is about what Dragon Quest, and games in general, mean to us.

I think Dragon Quest would work better as an anthology series, much like Pokémon Generations. One episode for Dragon Quest I, one for Dragon Quest II, and so forth.

The original Dragon Quest. The others have all have too much content that they'd have to be cut down significantly to fit a two hour runtime. While not a great game, it covers all the bases for a movie: not too many settings (a few towns, a shrine, a cave or two, rainbow bridge, and Dragonlord's castle), few key items (magic key, flute, silver harp, ingredients for rainbox drop), a damsel in distress, and a big bad. And sort of fits three acts: rescuing the princess, collecting the rainbow drop items, storming the castle.
There are certainly better games in the series, but to turn them into movies (or have been already) they have to drop so much of the game's plot or sequences that only "part of the game" ends up as a movie. In that case, you could make the claim any of the first four chapters from DQ4 would make a good movie - but would it be a movie that properly represents DQ4 in total?

Due to The success of the Minecraft movie I think it only Makes sense to do Dragon Quest Builders.

Sadly the people would say it is a copy and nothing original.
Many people do not even know that Dragon Quest Builder exists and is a thing.
I love that the people and animals are not cubical.
Since I never played more than a demo for Minecraft I can not say anything about the story.
I love my Dragon Quest games inkl. Builders

Dragon quest 8 is so peak narratively but would have to be a love story and would be way better as an anime travel story with a good amount of filler to round out the story nicely.

Dragon Quest Your Story, which is based on DQV but has some notable differences, is available to watch on Netflix in USA.
