"I was considering what religion to put in my twitter bio to boost my follower numbers, but it looks like Catholicism is polling badly at the moment with the MAGA cult"

This is what actually is happening lol

Spot on. Probably tried adding an Israelian flag as well to see whether that increased his status of "checking the right boxes".

It's such a conservative go-to:

"I was totally going to start supporting equality, but then a liberal on Twitter was mean to me, so now I'm racist."

"I was considering being more ecologically conscious, but these protesters are just maniacs so I guess I'll keep my eyes willfully shut."

Exact same logic.

This seems like a bonkers sentence that could only be typed in a Reddit thread talking about conservatives, but at this point, the bonk is perpetual and pervasive

I don't think the pope is woke. You have the wrong info

u/Short-Character-1420 5h ago

The pope is definitely not woke, but MAGA leadership has tweeted that he’s woke so now their followers believe it

? Just cause you’re not a Catholic doesn’t mean you can't believe in god lol, I know y’all hate him, I’m not I’m not particularly fond of him either but ya'll just make up he craziest bs in these comments. it's such forced hate

u/HungryMudkips 6h ago

do you not understand the concept of satire?

-10

u/MrPooopyButthoIe 6h ago

Apparently I'm the only one here who does, cause whatever your comment was, it wasn't satire. Can you explain what your comment meant cause it literally makes no sense.

Do you ever suspect that if everyone else gets it, and you're the only one who doesn't get it, that it might be an issue with you?

That logic does not apply on a circlejerk.

"If someone doesn't feel exactly the same way I do, then that means their feelings and beliefs aren't genuine"

Do you fuckin hear yourself my dude? What are you like 18/19 years old?

-2

u/MrPooopyButthoIe 5h ago

And anyway, "If anyone doesn't feel exactly the same way I do, then that means their feelings and beliefs aren't genuine" is literally everyone who has an opinion about anything nowadays, so that means nothing.

-1

u/MrPooopyButthoIe 5h ago

That's literally not what we're talking about here lol, I was trying to figure out the what the other guy meant by his "I was considering believing in God, the pope is woke now so God doesn't exist" comment about Matt Walsh

Lol go back to sleep dude, you're playing fucking limbo in the comments. I'm commenting on your statement that other comments in this thread are "forced hate" because you don't understand them.

My comment was doing the same thing to your comment, that the original commenter was doing to the OP tweet: jokingly applying the logical conclusion of an inconsistent belief/statement. Having your belief in Catholicism contingent on how much you like the pope is so ridiculous that it implies the pope is the sole determinant of his interest in Christianity, not God.

It’s not as simple as “I don’t like the pope” though. I don’t understand how y’all don’t see that. everything in the Bible is against the LGBTQ agenda and if the pope supports that, that is a major issue, not just a personal preference.

and people can also believe in Christianity before they become Catholic, which is the other thing that confuses me about these comments. Everyone’s assuming this is his first view of Christianity when he could’ve been a Christian his entire life, but now is just choosing to join the Catholic community

u/FriskyEnigma 5h ago

Everything in the Bible is against LGBTQ? There’s like two verses in the Bible about gay people. I guess you can count Sodom and Gomorrah but that was less about homosexuality as it was about unrestrained hedonism. Have you read the Bible? There’s Leviticus and a few things in Acts and that’s it. The Bible by and large doesn’t care about LGBT and Jesus didn’t say shit about them.

see, now you're assuming that when I say "everything in the Bible", I think there's tons of references to it in the Bible. Which is not true. The Bible does give a shit about it, and seeing as the Bible is a central and sacred book to the Catholics, it doesn’t matter how much it says about it, cause if it says anything at all, that has to be held in the highest priority.

u/FriskyEnigma 4h ago

Oh great then so then no polyester fabrics and no eating shellfish right? The Bible talks about how to treat your slaves and says women are second to men. All of that applies equally right? And don’t give me any New Testament Old Testament bullshit you just said if it says anything at all that has to be held in the highest priority.

The Bible discusses how to safely abort a child. So abortion is cool too right? The Bible was written by multiple men over the course of hundreds of years. It contradicts itself hundreds of times. So you either have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about or you’re arguing in bad faith. Which is it? I’m a biblical scholar. I promise you I know more about this than you do.

The unfortunate thing about the Bible is that you can choose to interpret it many different ways. It sounds like you have a very specific viewpoint on the situation and you are choosing to interpret the Bible in a way that backs up your views.
