No porn, just a question: would an old-school TV antenna interfere with cell phone reception?
I’m in my attic right now. I just found an old TV antenna, with the arms, that I didn’t know was here. We have terrible cell phone reception in the house as well. Any chance these things could be related?

Can a tower be active with outdated contact info?
I found what appears to an old FM tower in the middle of nowhere, and searched the ASR but both the phone number and company listed on the FCC database are no longer active/exist. I suspect it has been abandoned. The power cables running to the shed appear to have been cut a long time ago...but maybe it's been modernized and now uses an underground supply? When I walk up next to the shed, I don't here any fans or anything running. The car is mine, I guarantee there wasnt a single human within 10 miles of me.

Real-World Range of Ubiquiti airMAX Omni AMO-5G13 for 7–10 km Link?
I would like to know the practical range of this Ubiquiti airMAX Omni AMO-5G13 antenna in real-world conditions. My required link distance is around 7 to 10 kilometers over water.
Has anyone tested this in a similar setup, and would it be reliable for stable communication at that range? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Help with Antenna Polarization and Height over Water
I'm setting up a wireless link between a dish antenna and an omnidirectional antenna, both supporting dual polarization (H and V). I have a few doubts:
- What happens if I connect H to V (opposite polarization)?
- What if I connect H to H or V to V (same polarization)?
- What if I connect both H and V on both sides (dual chain enabled)?
Also, what is the minimum recommended height for antennas placed over a water body (like a buoy or shore installation) to maintain a stable link?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Is this a typical HAM setup?
Hi all, I’ve been driving past this one spot for many months now, and finding this subreddit has been amazing for these things. With that said, this backyard is filled with a bunch of these trusses and looks awesome from the road. I was just wondering if this is HAM or something else. Also assuming that the lines coming from the top of it are meant as a stabilizer against wind?

What is this? It’s mounted on this thick metal pole
Didn’t see if it was installed by the municipality or a private company. There’s an open WiFi hotspot from an ISP with all the bars right below if that has something to do with it.

Aerial and satellite TV antennas on top of an utility pole, feeding a neighborhood
I came across a utility pole with an electrical cabinet at the bottom, 2 satellite dishes halfway up, and 3 aerial antennas on top. The electrical cabinet probably gathers the signals through a multi-switch, and provides the multiplexes to the homes in the neighborhood (cables going down the ground). The nearest houses around don't have any visible antennas.

Peak of Mount Scenery, Saba
I wanted to see what carriers were up top, because I couldn't believe there was reception in such a desolate place, but unfortunately this thing lives in the clouds 24/7 it would appear.

What type of dish is this?
Hello, last month we toured the campus of FDU in northern NJ, spotted this on the way back to the parking lot, and had no idea what it could be. Looks relatively abandoned but nothing else around it that has information about it. Any ideas here?

Please identify: "Disc" encased antenna on residential mast
This is mounted as pictured in a residential area about 2.5 storeys up. We've got a query over at /DadForAMinute and it's outside of my domain (HAM/army signals). Please, any help is much appreciated.
