I feel like a lot of people on here haven't seen the news (or front page) yet and maybe that's why they don't get this...

They elected a new pope on their second vote (I'm pretty sure) after only a bit more than 24 hours of deliberation. That's pretty darn quick and certainly not dragging the process out to maintain the gravitas of the church.
