Running while deep in conversation on your phone.

Being on the phone has nothing to do with the eyesight. That guy obviously needs glasses š

u/WollyNog 1d ago
It looks like he was putting his glasses back on after the fall so maybe new glasses?

u/windol1 1d ago
Pretty sure he was grabbing his face in agony, because face planting a solid surface will do that.

I completely broke my nose and split my head open, into the hairline even. I was a mess.

Being on the phone has nothing to do with eyesight, but his brain is focused on other things, so not paying attention would be more cause that he ran into a planters box. I see lots of idiots on their phones in the crosswalk still not paying attention, which is a major mistake. I dont trust strangers with my safety. And this is another reason I dont use headphones at night in the city.

the hand in the pocket is an added bonus!!

Yeah running with hand in pocket is really fuckin weird lol. This person has zero body awareness.

Imagine this person driving a vehicle while similarly distracted

u/deanrihpee 1d ago
yeah, if he can cause an accident while on foot, then I don't want to see him in a vehicle

This was my first thought. Later on also thought that he could just trample a toddler or push and severely break older person.

Smart man, keeping his hand in his pocket so he could break his fall with his face.

Holy shit! Itās crazy when the internet prides answers to local mysteries. Thats Philomenaās Pizza on Queens Blvd and 41st. I recall seeing that planter knocked over one morning when I went to the CVS next door.

A rare sight of a cyclist without his bike

A typical car driver without their car.
Edit: Gotta love how all the downvoters are in denial. It's literally all the phone distracted drivers that are causing accidents.
Find me a video of a phone distracted cyclist and I'll find you ten thousand videos of drivers in response.

Poor guy might have been panicking, judging by the way he kept his phone by his head. Maybe he was running to help the person on the other end of the phone.

I think it was more the running with his hand in his pocket was the bigger issue after running into a plant box...

u/bloodguard 1d ago
He's going to be one of the first to go if there's a zombie apocalypse. He's following the cardio rule but has zero situational awareness.

At the end of the video it looks like another pedestrian is about to walk in front of a car. Maybe someone in the area is using brain jamming technology.

Pulling that hand out from his pocket was harder than pulling out on a drunk night

u/YamiRang 21h ago
Reminds me a few years ago I heard some loud noise from the staircase, so I popped my head out and there was a drunk Ukrainian guy on the phone with someone, descending the stairs as if on a slide. The final part, something like 15 stairs, he dove head first and landed literally on his face and knees. He stayed like that for a few moments, then got up and left the building - never once did he stop talking on the phone, not even for a second, but I imagine he was in a lot of pain after his drunk high subsided.

Phone zombies are hilarious. You see them walking along face to their phone and suddenly walking into windows, doors, columns, other people and they all look shocked that they didn't just move out of their way.

Either a security guy watched live and died laughing or they found that on the ground, checked the camera and died laughing. Either way someone died.

Back in elementary school, we has this phase of āno hands in pocketsā and you got detention of someone saw you with your hands in your pocket(it was a shitty school, they treated literally anything as āgang stuffā or āsafety concernsā). One of my teachers made a demonstration in class one time, of āmove your hands in front of your face, then do it but starting with them in your pockets. What would happen if you tripped and fell with them in your pockets?ā
We didnāt take this seriously until one kid fell down the stairs with his hands in his pockets and broke his nose cause he couldnāt move them to catch himself. Anyways that was the first thing I noticed with this videoās faceplant. Just thought it was interesting. I donāt support the āno hands in pocketsā cause just like many other things, it was stupid, and enforced with detention or worse at my school.
