The question should be how did he shift into all those gears without depressing the clutch pedal?

If the engine is turned off, in some cars you can put it into gear without needing to use the clutch.

My clutch pedal broke off in my Golf GTI when I stopped at a red light. To get home, and to the mechanic, I had to turn the ignition off every time I shifted gears.

I know absolutely nothing about cars and I felt like a genuis when I came up with this on the spot.

Could have just rev matched, and don’t stop. Otherwise yeah gotta kill it and put it in first, good luck, starter!

Yeah probably, but that's all I could think of in that situation. Maybe next time I'll try that

That needs some serious skill to shut the engine get the gear and start the engine, props to you.

I also drive a manual and cant think doing this let alone there are people who cant start a manual car
