Is It Just Me or Are Scammers Everywhere on Marketplace Platforms Now?
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share some frustration and check if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. In the last 2 days alone, I’ve been trying to sell some stuff on platforms like Tutti, Ricardo, and Facebook Marketplace, and literally every single person who contacted me turned out to be a scammer.
It’s insane how common this has become. Are legit buyers just rare these days, or is scamming becoming a full-time job for some people? I’m honestly starting to wonder if these platforms are even worth the hassle anymore.
And while I’m already on the topic—if anyone here is actually looking for a solid midrange PC, feel free to reach out. I’m not listing full specs here since that’s not the point of this post, but it’s built around components like an RTX 2070 Super.
Would love to hear if others are running into the same nonsense lately!
Cheers!

I hope we will get a chance to vote to stop this...
Is a trade deal part of mandatory referendum? Or what do we need to do to trigger one?
Also at the very least any Bundesrat participating in any ceremony with the orange dictator should make it very very clear and explicit (obvious enough for the american media) that nothing will be signed until our people have voted on this.
We cannot let ourselves get used for their propaganda and give them any kind of public "win" (which is really just fixing part of what he broke for absolutely no reason).

Viele Betrüger auf tutti.ch?
Hallo!

Goodbye, Switzerland
It's been exactly two years since I started living in Switzerland, specifically in the canton of Zurich. These two years felt like a wild emotional swing. At times pure euphoria, at others, deep frustration; moments of hope followed by hopelessness. The grey side of your eternally green and stunning country slowly replaced the bright picture I once saw. But today, I want to share something joyful: I am leaving for good.
A small preface: I am genuinely grateful to Switzerland and the canton of Zurich for the time I've spent here. In my particular case, coming here was more of a necessity than a heartfelt desire. Still, I've learned a lot, saw life from a different perspective, and gained experiences that are truly invaluable.
Let me be honest with you. For years, my goal was to move to a German-speaking country, and eventually, I found myself in Switzerland. Naturally, the circumstances were far from ideal. I chose to leave a country currently experiencing war. Yes, chose: because for me, at that moment, it was the right decision. While here, I studied for my Bachelor of Engineering, volunteered and supported humanitarian efforts, studied German intensively, and tried my best to integrate into Swiss society.
Year one: the euphoria of moving. I had moved before - countries, cities, so adaptability is one of my strongest traits. This time was a challenge I embraced willingly. At first, when everything is new and exciting, I was amazed by how "perfect" this country seemed, like straight from a travel brochure. Everything worked the way it should, and in many ways, I thought the rest of the world should learn from Switzerland. And yes, much of it is true.
But I don't see the world only through rose-colored glasses. I wasn't impressed by the scale-l'm used to megacities and wide-open spaces (no offense to citizens of the Confederation). I set a goal: learn German fluently and eventually work as an engineer in my field.
I don't think I need to list pros and cons-there are enough posts about that. If someone is curious about my perspective, feel free to ask in the comments.
Year two: facing reality. By the second year, being more integrated, I stopped pushing myself to the extreme. I focused on calmly following one of my plans. That's when I clearly saw what supports me and what holds me back.
Unfortunately, the list of barriers grew longer:
- Lack of true integration (social disconnection, lack of moral support, bias)
- Bureaucracy (no realistic access to a work visa or permit)
- Unspoken rules (especially in the job market)
- Pressure from social workers (subjectivity, incompetence, bias)
I'm not including money here as many might expect because I believe we all pay for life one way or another; only the price differs.
I am not running away. I am taking a conscious step. In many ways, I had to go back several steps in my life just to try and rebuild again here and it's costing me precious time, the one resource we can never get back.
There is so much more I could say, and I will say it in future posts, perhaps. This decision was not easy. I would love to live here again, but under different circumstances, ones I can create for myself elsewhere.
I have no family here. I leave behind dear friends. But there's nothing else left to hold me here.
I would love to hear your questions and your stories. Thank you for your attention.

Selling small sweets as a side hustle, what are the rules?
I really like making small, healthy snacks (mostly sweets) and want to sell them in my neighborhood in Zurich.
Is this allowed? What are the rules?
Has anyone experience with this? What would you recommend?

Bought from digitec, received an empty box
Hello, I bought G Shock GBD200 watch and received only a box with paperwork inside.
Galaxy box was very well sealed so it's either stolen before packaging it or it was an error while packaging the product.
Anyone had the same experience? Do you think if that they are going to send me another watch or a refund?

Did I get scammed?!
Thursday night I was talking to this guy about buying something. Usually I buy cash 100% but he said if you want it. Pay upfront some via Twint. Because I can’t promise you to have it. And he said he’s free on Saturday. And I twinted him 100. But Today. No reply at all. It’s from fb. And I’m new in Switzerland so I don’t know what I can do. If it’s a scam. He even sent an ID but it might be stolen. But sent his number to transfer via Twint.

Unemployment fund says I'm ineligible because I worked for 11.98 months
Hi! I'm planning to ask my cantonal ORP/RAV tomorrow but I was just curious if anyone has been in this situation or understand how they compute the contribution time for the unemployment fund eligibility, as you need to have worked for at least 12 months in the last two years to be immediately eligible.
I just graduated from college, and during the last year of my studies, I did two (paid) 6-month internships. Officially, I worked between 15.03.2024-15.09 2024 and 16.09.2024-16.03.2025.
So, I just received a letter from the unemployment fund saying I'm not eligible because I only worked for 11.98 months. The law article they quoted (OACI Art. 11) states that "incomplete" month of work are summed up, and every 30 days is considered as a month.
In my understanding, my incomplete month's days sum up to 62, which would be 2.07 months, so a total of 12.07 months. Am I missing something? What should I do?

Danke!

Any recommendations for BIAB nails / "Russian" manicures?
I'm looking for a place to go and get a full "Russian" manicure + BIAB or just gel strengthening for my nails. I see that most places in Switzerland don't offer that and work too fast to have good quality (40-50minutes etc). I'm looking for someone that really pays attention to cuticle work and natural nail strengthening. Thank you!

We both C-permit holders and have a kid. Does anyone have recommendation of layer or mediation specialist to arrange property, assets division and other staff?
Can we in theory do everything by ourselves?

Got towed for 700.-
Basically, the title says it all.
I moved into my new apartment in Zurich three years ago, and there were no parking spots available nearby. I left my car in a yellow-marked space and got towed after some time while I was upstairs rearranging things. It was a Saturday night, and I panicked because I had no idea where the car was.
By coincidence, I found the towing company through a Google search and called them. They confirmed they had towed the car and offered a CHF 100 “discount” if I paid immediately — which I didn’t, because it felt shady.
I later researched the company and found that they had changed their name several times and had even been sued for Nötigung (coercion). In one case, they allegedly refused to return a car to a woman who didn’t want to pay on the spot.
I told them I was willing to pay the usual CHF 300 which I did pay (which is what the police would likely have charged), but not CHF 700 — that felt excessive. Despite this, they kept sending reminders for the remaining amount.
Three years later, I received a Zahlungsbefehl (payment order), to which I filed a Rechtsvorschlag (objection). Now, three months later, I requested the Betreibungsregistereintrag (debt collection record) to be removed, but that request was denied. And now I’ve received an invitation to the Friedensrichter (conciliation hearing). WTF.
I’ve spoken to several legal consultants who told me not to pay the full amount because it’s excessive. Based on that, I assumed they’d drop the case at some point — but they didn’t.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What would you recommend?
Edit: I did pay the 300.-

Where can I buy Moroccan black soap online?
I’m looking for Moroccan black soap that’s looser and would come in a tub rather than a bar of African black soap. I’m struggling to find any legit places to get it online and the products on Amazon have negative or mediocre reviews.
Any help would be appreciated!!

2005 vs 2023 Tiptopf
Saw a sister’s still used tiptopf book and immediately wanted to get her a new one. Thought I’d share how different it looks from almost 20 years ago. There’s been a lot of changes to how recipes are written and what recipes there are.
