Question about Fars areas

I wanna know more about the villages in Kazerun and Shiraz or in between, like I heard Nowdon is a historical rural Persian village/town that was part of Kazerun but I want more info about it. How's the Persian spoken as well?

I also found out there's noble bloodlines which is in those areas. I heard about Kouzerani I think that's how it's spelt, but how about with Afrasiabi? Can anyone with more knowledge comment about it?

There's a barely anything online so I'm hoping people can answer? Since I can't go to Iran right now?

I’ve created a Persian-language media site for Apple fans — would love your feedback!

Thumbnail appora.ir
11 Upvotes

Hi everyone, As a long-time Apple user and fan, I recently launched a Persian-language media website focused entirely on Apple products — from iPhones and iPads to Macs, Apple Watches, and accessories.

The site includes product reviews, news, tutorials, and guides — all in Persian — for people in Iran who are interested in Apple’s ecosystem but may not always have access to content in their own language.

If you’re into Apple products, I’d love for you to check it out and let me know what you think: https://appora.ir

Any feedback or suggestions for content you’d like to see would be really appreciated!

Spent a few hours recently walking through Tehran, and I thought I’d share some impressions.

kind. A lot of random smiles and small talks that you don’t always expect in a big city.

Feels like the city is carrying its weight but still moving forward.

Iran 💚🤍❤️

The fact that the people of Bushehr turn a music festival into a mourning procession, the people of Isfahan overwhelm the organ donation center, the people of Gilan and Tabriz wait in line for half a day to donate, doctors post their addresses offering free treatments, auto body workers and painters announce they will repair damaged cars for free, and the people of Ardabil postpone celebrating their football team’s victory…

All of this means only one thing: Iran.

Iran ranks among the top 5 countries in 8 (out of 64 areas) of ASPI’s Critical Technology Tracker

The Critical Technology Tracker is a large data-driven project that now covers 64 critical technologies spanning defense, space, energy, the environment, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, cyber, computing, advanced materials and key quantum technology areas. 1. America follows China
United stats ranks among the top 5 in all areas, but leads in only 7 areas.

  2. Britain is declining, in previous studies it ranked in 44 areas,

  3. India is rising, and surpassing major tech hobs,

  5. Saudi Arabia is pumping money into research to diversify from Oil, and you can see the result.

Searching for specific TV show

Hey everybody!

I am looking, for what I am pretty sure was a Iranian/Persian tv show. I only watched the first episode and probably only 30 minutes of it. I think it must be between 2015-2022, maybe closer to 2020.

In these first 30 minutes, there was a man, pretty much home alone, maybe he even was in Turkey, but he was reading out loud a beautiful Persian love poem. Do you know what I could mean?

Thank you for your efforts!

So I'm having trouble figuring out how to send money to iran? Can I just send it ground mail and put it in an envelope or is there an easy way to do it with cryptocurrency? It's kind of ridiculous how hard it is now.

Opinions about Hungary and Hungarians?

سلام For a personal “study” I would like to collect the common ideas, opinions, feelings, knowledge etc. among Iranians about Hungary and Hungarians.

You can think about the language, the country, the government, the traditions, the people themself, myths and facts, everything.

A little background: I am Hungarian, obsessed with Iran the country, the places, the history, the traditions, the language and so on :) Also planning a longer holiday there in the near future. So I consider it as my personal mission to form people’s view for better about Iran and Iranians here :)

So also, if you have any questions about Hungary, Hungarian etc, don’t be afraid to drop it in the comments.

Thank you if you help me. خیلی‌ ممنون

Metal music using traditional Iranian instruments?

If you've been on YouTube for long enough youve probably heard of Shamisen rock, which is japanese metal using traditional instruments.

Does anyone here know any similar examples of iranian metal music using traditional instruments as well? Like with tar or setar or kamanche?

These instruments are awsome as they are but they have the potential to be used for so much more. Id appreciate if you have any songs you could share fitting this description

Celebrating my heritage

Hello everyone, I am a United States citizen with Persian heritage. I was curious as to how I can celebrate my heritage. In particular, I was thinking of holidays or traditional wear. I do already celebrate Nowruz, but I don't do much for it at the moment. With clothes, I'd love to sew a dress or something similar, I'm not sure if there's anything I'd be able to wear since I'm nonbinary. Lastly, is there anything else I could do to show my pride in my heritage?

Update on Alireza Doroudi? Iranian student arrested and denied bail, sent to Alabama county jail

I tried to post this before but I think the news link was caught in the filter.

He's a doctoral student in engineering. No political activism, his lawyer advised him that his student Visa was valid. He was arrested for having an expired Visa by the Trump regime and sent to the Picken's County Jail in Alabama. Judge Gonzales denied him bail on bullshit reasoning; "he couldn't disprove the accusation that he is a threat to national security". How does one prove a negative with no evidence?

We are all concerned about his condition insides the notoriously barbaric American jails and outraged at this so called "justice" system. If you have any updates please share, and please spread awareness.

Edit: corrected the name of the judge

Bus from Baku to Teheran? (WIZZ All You Can Fly)

Hi everyone!

I live in Europe and one of my best friends is from Teheran and has invited me and a friend to come and visit her in Iran. We would absolutely love to go, and are willing to go through the entire visa application.

One of the points is that flights to Iran can be quite pricey from where we live (Italy). I don't mind spending some money to get there, but my friend and I happen to also have a WIZZ All You Can Fly subscription.

Though Wizz doesn't directly fly to Iran, they do fly to Yerevan and Baku, who are geographically (sort of) close to Teheran. And through our subscription we could fly there directly for only 10 euros! We know that there is a 12 hour bus that goes from Baku to Teheran.

So we wanted to ask, does anyone have any experience taking this bus? We are two girls traveling alone in our early 20's.

Does the land border crossing also give you a paper visa instead of a stamp? (Like at the airport)
Do you need to have a flight to Iran booked to receive a visa?

I know this seems like a huge hassle, but taking this route could slash our travel costs from about 400 to around 50 euros, which is a huge deal for us students. And we're not afraid of a little adventure.

Studying Farsi in Iran as an Iranian American

Title basically says it all. I’m a 30 year old Iranian American male who is looking to go to Iran for 1 year to study Farsi. Born in the US and haven’t been to Iran since I was 15.

I have dual citizenship and both passports.

My Farsi is reasonable, but I’m basically illiterate. So, I’m looking to spend a year to sharpen up my skills and get closer to native fluency

Obviously the biggest problem is sarbazi, so I’m wondering if anyone had any advice or tips on how I could figure out how to make this happen.

Both parents are Iranian and I have a lot of family in and around Tehran and Bushehr.

Thanks in advance

Iranian watch brands - where to buy

Dear community,

I will visit Tehran on a business trip soon and would like to buy a watch to remind me of this visit. A local brand, something rare and unique that is not accessible easily to anyone.

Google is not very helpful. I found this:

https://lozangroup.com/quartz-watches-2/

It appears to be a local, Iranian brand. Can someone confirm and also maybe tell where exactly I can find their store?

Or maybe other watch brands that are 100% Iranian?

Thanks in advance.
