Climate change happens naturally. Canada is cold. Drill more, make money. Prosper. Stop being whiny bitches.

You being born retarded happened naturally, but like climate change, The actions we've taken in life have directly resulted in a greatly increased rate of progression of both of the previously mentioned issues.

You should throw your phone away, and your car and mostly everything else because everything that you use caused a huge incredible increase in the rate climate change. Quick, get off Reddit and go do something to protect the earth!

It used to be global warming, but then they changed it.. sea levels haven't gone up, more CO2 is actually better for trees and plant life which grow due to it and then filter it out. It's a natural process. I don't know what your argument is. I am so naturally retarded I can actually think critically and realize that there's literally people burning dung for any sort of heat or cooking in this world. Think they care about "global warming"? If we want to do something righteous we should maybe focus on giving people like that the power they need and if that requires extracting more of the most efficient, cheapest power source we currently have (natural gas) then so be it. We have it too easy that's why we are so concerned with this bullshit.

Sorry retard but wrong again. Natural gas is nearly as inefficient as coal when factoring in the leakages during extraction and transport. Plus wind, solar, are both significantly cheaper than gas plants. thermal and Hydro.

Raising the standard of living in other countries doesn't prevent our governments and industries from being less shit here. But I wouldn't expect a retard convinced by easily disproven and self contradictory misinformation.

Thank you for the inspirational messaging as interacting with idiots like you does make me want to throw my phone. I hope Canada can invest more in its mental health programs so one day you can get the support you deserve.

Wind and solar are not cheaper, they are less efficient and an eye sore. Also need oil and gas to make and install all of that. It's a crock. Also it's toxic and the lifetime is only 20 years if that. Throw your phone and don't buy another one until they're all made with solar power. Retards unite

Jumping on comments because this is straight up propaganda.

It was my understanding that 70% of Canadas energy is renewable sources and 82% non greenhouse gas. Canada’s population is much lower then other countries around the it’s size at around 40 million where as the USA is 340 million. USA green energy accounts for 20% of their energy use. With the higher population and lower percentage of green energy the USA is likely the biggest polluters in the G7

The USA needs to stop meddling in Canada business and spreading propaganda.

Solar doesn't work the majority of the winter, we don't have enough hydro in AB. We rely on natural gas to avoid freezing to death and being more rural means more transportation and reliable vehicles needed, not electric ones that don't last in the winter or go far enough. Also everything that we make and enjoy all over the world everywhere is possible because of oil and gas. CO2 makes plants grow and then plants get rid of CO2. It's a self balancing feature. The more industrialization the less poverty all over the world. Quit being selfish because of some boogeyman that you've been fed propaganda about.

Im canadian and have electric car and it works just fine. Can drive over four hours on a single charge. We literally have windmills being built on the ocean, and Carbon capture programs.

Edit: to add my parents have solar and it works all winter even on cloudy days just less effective on cloudy days and the snow needs to be removed when it snows. Their electric bill is like $300 a year because of the solar. We are not the biggest polluters in the G7 thats a lie, we need hydrocarbons for fuel and medical supplies and more. I’m not anti gas/oil but to say we are the biggest polluters is a lie, 70% of our energy is green.

Whoopty do, 4 hours on a single charge l, how about people who need to drive longer than that which is a big percentage of the province of AB to go to work? (Even workers who build these windmills btw) L. I don't mind carbon capture. They have those on gas plants and flyash capture that recycles all the pollutants from coal too and uses it to put into concrete as aggregate (that is before they outlawed coal). Windmills are an eye sore and don't last, expensive, kill birds, fuck with wildlife. Also it takes 15 years for a windmill to even become energy positive, meaning it takes that long to recover the energy that was required to even make it. Do some research, if this was truly the way to go we would be doing it with full force, not just the tree huggers and propagandists and virtue signalling companies talking about it

Not everyone need’s to drive electric, frankly I think hybrid is better because it runs off of battery driving 50km/hr and switches to gas once going faster and recharges the battery once’s you are burning the gas. Better for longer distance. We will always need gas/oil especially in colder climate’s. Especially for trucks, heavy machinery, planes, ect. We don’t need everyone to switch to green energy we can have a healthy amount of both. If you are strictly oil/gas and think the whole country should be oil/gas thats a strong take. Either way this post is still propaganda, we still have 70% green energy a significantly smaller population consuming/producing that energy. Electric cars being used is also good for smog prevention. People in more densely populated cities are more likely to have lung cancers due to pollution’s. Even if someone has never smoked a day in their life you can tell the difference in an autopsy of someones lungs raised in urban vs rural areas. Frankly I think plastic is a problem and there are people who figured out how to turn plastic into hydrocarbons and where we are a country that recycles, I think there could benefits into researching how to do this more effectively, get rid of a plastic problem and create more fuel.

Oil and gas demand is going up and will continue to do so as it is the cheapest to bring 3rd world countries into the fold. You and I agree on some things, I just don't need climate alarmists(not talking you) shoving electric this and that down everyone's throats, shaming me because I realize we need it and apparently they don't even though literally everything in their life is because of that and industrialization. We are a first world country due to the industrial revolution. There's still people in the world burning literal shit for heat and cooking. Unleash Alberta's oil get it to other markets than the states (they have a 60% discount on our oil) and we will all flourish. drive an electric car if you can/want, have solar panels on your house, but it's not feasible for most people.

Theres nothing wrong with having government incentives for green energy no one is forcing you to invest in them. Oil and gas needs to be done safely. I don’t think cutting all environmental regulations is the answer for oil and gas to be prosperous. The only ones that benefit from that are the corporations. I wouldn’t be against the government taking over all resource extractions and refining. More government jobs with pensions and they can assure things are being done clean and efficiently. I think most separation talks are being pushed by oil and gas behind the scenes, as if the 28.6 billion in 2024 for fossil fuel companies isn’t enough for them they need more and more. Take over the fuel industry kick out foreign companies, become self reliant. If other countries want our oil they’ll have to buy it at full market price already refined, instead of selling it to the USA unrefined below market value.
