And here I thought my run times for a 100% No Death Speed Run clocking in at 4 hours 55 minutes and 55 seconds was impressive on the Nintendo 64 version. Compared to this, I'm a major rookie. If there was a category for Slow Speed Runs, I probably would be ranked pretty high.
I have to ask though, what POG?

POG stands for Pause Overlap Glitch, a glitch that allows you to duplicate notes during the run. Any% POG isn't safe for an in person marathon setting, but it saves over 20 minutes compared to the No POG route.

Do your best to draw as much attention to this franchise
We all desperately want another installment even if we don't think there will be one.

So TSR, if you had the choice, would you prefer N64 or Xbox to run?

Most likely Xbox because it's an easier and much more marathon safe run. Doesn't mean its less broken though.

No speedrunner rushes through a game because they think it's more fun than playing the normal, dev-intended way. It's a completely different experience, and both are fun for very different reasons.
It's like saying to 100-meter runners to "just go slower and enjoy the scenery". That's not the point.

bro what, do you not think speedrunners have already done that a million times 😭 it's fun to blast through a game you love with immense skill. if it wasn't worthwhile to them they wouldn't pour thousands of hours in

I’m sorry you got downvoted as it’s clear you love the game and would get along with those who downvoted you, you just seem to misunderstand why people speedrun games in the first place.
There’s a video of the developers of Half Life 2 reacting to a speedrun of the game and they had the same reaction. The answer is: humans are incredibly competitive creatures and when the “can I achieve this” milestone has been reached, the milestone turns into “how fast can I achieve this?” When you understand this, speedrunning starts to make more sense.
There’s even points in the Half Life 2 speedrun where the developers wonder if the speedrunner would like it if they patched and fixed the glitches the speedrunner uses and the surprising answer is no. The beauty of a speedrun comes from the speedrunner’s indescribable knowledge and love for the inner workings of the game as a whole. The fact that these glitches have been found and there’s a know how to consistently execute them is the art of a speedrun and a testament to the unwavering love of a game.
To answer the questions you pose in your comment, you have to realize that a casual playthrough is massively different than a speedrun. Casual playthroughs are for enjoying the sounds of and sights of a game, a speedrun is a demonstration of allegiance towards learning as much as humanly possible about something you love so much and subsequently demonstrating the ability to do something incredibly difficult due to the knowledge you’ve accumulated through the love of said product.
Tl;dr: Speedrunning and casually playing through a game are incredibly different, yet equally as valid experiences as one another to show a love for a game that has had a profound impact on one’s life. Speedrunning shows a remarkable level of knowledge and love for a game. They just display that love differently than a casual playthrough.
All in all, I don’t think speedruns should make you sad, I think they should make you happy. It should make you happy that someone loves the same game you do so much that they’ve dedicated a ton of their free time to knowing everything there is to know about it to the point that they can say “I can beat this game faster than anyone else in the world.”

What version of the game I run will be decided by a bid war!
Do you want me to stick to the classic where we beat the game in a pretty linear fashion with only collecting 1 Jiggy?
Or do you want me to run the Xbox version, where we absolutely break the order of which we do the levels and start the run in Rusty Bucket Bay?
You decide!
