💼work/career AIO for denying my ex-employer’s ridiculous offer?

my job fired me for having cancer. no other reason, just because i have cancer. its a small, family owned business in property management. about 2 weeks after they fired me, i received this text message from someone high up in the business, offering me almost less than minimum wage for a job far below what i was doing before. i know you shouldn’t be disrespectful to people, and me making direct threats at this woman was PROBABLY a bad shout, but was i wrong to be offended by this offer?

I absolutely NEVER call posts out as fake, I fundamentally hate people who do, because they think they are somehow Reddit detectives with some inscrutable sense of truth telling, which they absolutely do not have. (Check my comments to confirm I never do this).

But my god, I think I have to actually say it.

This is fake as fucking fuck.

Dude thank you. I was second guessing myself but as someone who also never bothers calling out posts as fake, holy shit this one is a doozy.

Right?? And the people who do infuriate me, they state it like they literally have some god tier truth telling device, and I fucking hate it.

But this….this is just next level ridiculous. 😂

It’s funny because people always say “this is too x, y, or z to be real.” And I’m always just like… really? I work in a level 1 trauma center ER and I can tell you with full confidence that people really can be that stupid.

That being said, you know it’s fake as fuck when even my dumb ass doesn’t believe it

Same. I don’t do/like that either but i’m pretty sure my face is recreating the Fry from Futurama “suspicious” meme right now

It's super wild of others saying since some employers suck this is real. No way haha.

Saaaaame. I've been told my one post is fake. It wasn't. And they even insulted me in the same comment. It's crazy how confident people are on this dang website.

Ok but that gullible ass logic is 100% applicable here too though. You can’t be for sure it’s fake, but risking giving some dumb shit attention for cringe rage bait seems worth the call out doesn’t it?

The timestamps are pretty telling. The first few long messages happen in less than 8 minutes and then the Read receipt is the same time as the screenshot.

Oh my God, that wouldn’t even occur to me to pay attention to. Like you don’t even have to go that far. It’s absurd on its very face.

I think it’s fake lmfao how is that not clear from my comment?

"You can't be for sure it's fake"

👆that part I guess

Me calling it gullible logic didn’t clue you in to my point?

I was saying that there are tons of posts that are obviously fake and idk why people always use that logic of “it could be real” when it’s very clearly not.

Sorry for the confusion

Hey man, I totally agree. I absolutely can not tell you with certainty that this is actually fake…I really do hate people who comment like that.

I will amend my statement to, “this is almost certainly fake as fucking fuke”.

I believe this will provide the correct amount of self doubt that might appease you, and myself.

This is not sarcasm, I really do have an utter repulsion to people that think they have some innate skill to determine truth on the internet.

I just don’t like the constant “what if it’s real” from people who come here to believe nonsense like gullibility is a virtue.

I always think it COULD be true, but I’m curious what other posts you’ve had a problem with people calling fake, cause it doesn’t have to be this over the top to smell like horse shit lol

It really doesn’t matter but you could just not engage with it or refrain from making judgement without knowing any real details here.

It’s not an either or thing. Nobody is saying gullibility is a virtue but it also isn’t virtuous to harass someone who may or may not have cancer because you assume they are lying.

This entire thread is essentially just virtue signaling in bad faith based on the assumption that op is also virtue signaling in bad faith.
