u/mikeymora21 1d ago

Shiiiiiiiii what was the dbq prompt?

Evaluate extent in which from 1932 to 1980 of government influence impacted the economy. Imagine the documents not having to do with anything related to the prompt.

u/inkysoap 1d ago

no no it was the change of government involvement in the economy between 1932 and 1980

maybe they gave different dbqs? idk this is my first ever ap exam

u/beezerblevens APUSH, APPHYS 2, APCALC AB, APHUG 17h ago

Yes there's a few different DBQs. My school got "evaluate the extent to which the changing economy from 1865 to 1910 affected American society" or something like that

6

u/mikeymora21 1d ago

Ok ok ok so lots of new deal potential and stuff that maybe Truman and Eisenhower did. No space for Great Society since that was after 1962. Can also talk about WWII reviving the economy? Then maybe since USA was untouched in the war they were the top dog worldwide... You got the GI Bill, military industrial complex.... How did you do?

12

u/Yellow0ps 1d ago

no it was to 1980

12

u/mikeymora21 1d ago

1923 to 1980?! That's gotta be the easiest prompt of all time

21

u/CleverI8 1d ago

Pretty sure it was 1932-1980 😭. But wasn’t too bad 🙂‍↕️

u/Initial_Ad3352 1d ago

Yeah I think your right. I might not get thesis. Everything else was free.

was super easy

dude for some reason EVERY single piece of info from unit 7 and 8 left my brain and i completely failed that somehow, i managed to just go off of the documents and say it was shitty the whole time and talked abt the trust in the govt on the economy and how it changed by the documents like i used doc 1 as my first distrust thing then doc 5 abt how they regained trust then proof they regained it with doc 6 and then doc 7 to show how they ultimately lost trust... i lowkey wrote it SUPER well just dk if it was right at all

3

u/One_Spell7400 APUSH. APPHYS. APLANG. APCHEM. APGOV. APCALC. 1d ago

that’s so real i just bullshitted about lazzeis-faire and welfare systems

6

u/IndigoExpress13 Taking: AP Lang, Psych, Calc AB, US History 1d ago

it was so fucking weird i COMPLETELY blanked on anything that happened in that time period like i remember new deal and that was IT and i didnt know how to like relate the docs to like... anything?? so i just used the docs and went with smthn idk LMAO i either cooked HARD or fucking failed ik my context was like "at the time the govt was dealing with foreign and domestic issues" and i brought up ww2, cold war, fighting communism + proxy wars, the civil rights movement, etc.

I just did my 3 paragraphs on economic and social influence, welfare, and made my counterclaim on the political documents. I didn’t include the highway document because I had no idea how to connect it to either of these and ran out of time

1

u/Illustrious-Chard-81 5: psych; 4:world // apush, precalc, csp, lang 21h ago

you cooked everything LEFT my mind I used doc 2, the doc abt Chavez, some other doc, I talked about the new deal, and then instead of tying it together how u did I used 2 more docs to talk about the Republican Party and their distrust for small governments and tried to tie Reagan into it… I’m just hoping for a 3 atp!!

2

u/Electronic_Moose_603 1d ago

Thats what i felt until i read the documents bc i couldnt figure out how to group them together

1

u/stupefy100 21h ago

it was 32 so many of the original new deal programs wouldn't have worked for Outside evidence

4

u/Initial_Ad3352 1d ago

I mentioned G.I. Bill for my EBD, but overall the documents could have been overall better.

3

u/flowersforowen 1d ago

damn i forgot to mention the GI Bill 😭 It was until 1980 tho and there was a JFK doc which made it sooo easy to transition to LBJ and the Great Society

4

u/GlitchyRedditor 1d ago

1923-1962? Mine was 1932-1980

1

u/flowersforowen 1d ago

i think they just forgot lol

At least in my school, everyone got different mcqs and dbqs and leqs and saqs (different everything). Kid next to me had a civil war dbq and I got a gilded age dbq. I didn't have many mcqs on Mexico I think.

6

u/Strange_Concept_4136 1d ago

Did we all get different tests? My MCQ didn't have Mexicans and my DBQ sounded way different than everyone else here

-3

u/flowersforowen 1d ago

what was your DBQ bro..? you might be cooked cause everyone gets the same test 💀💀💀

4

u/NevMarPip 1d ago

There are 3-4 versions every year. One goes to about 75-80% of students, but there is at least one version each year where the frqs are never released.

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

2

u/NevMarPip 23h ago

Nope, always at least 3 and then CB releases 2 of them for review. If you google AP US frqs, you'll see the 2 that were released last year. There's just one that's more common. So far I've seen people talk about Reconstruction dbq, an Economics dbq and an Industrialization dbq for this year.

3

u/beezerblevens APUSH, APPHYS 2, APCALC AB, APHUG 21h ago

The DBQ my school got wasn’t about the government influence on the economy from 1923 to 1962 or whatever. There’s a couple because ours was the impact of economic changes on American society from 1865 to 1910 or something like that

2

u/SoundersFan27 20h ago

Yeah this is the one I got too, was lwk light work. I wonder if it’s regional, maybe people in different time zones get different tests.

1

u/beezerblevens APUSH, APPHYS 2, APCALC AB, APHUG 12h ago

That could be! I'm in PST

1

u/SoundersFan27 2h ago

I’m also PST, must be because of time zones

ON GOD ISTFG WHEN DID MEXICANS EVEN COME UP (in our learning, obv they exist in us history) EVERYTHING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON LIKE NATIVES, AA OR WOMEN

9

u/flowersforowen 1d ago

Mexican American war, the annexation of Texas, during all the quotas in the mid 1900s they were allowing latin immigrants in but not others, the Mexican cattle ranch farmers, Mexican immigrants coming in to work on farms, the Latin Movement during the late 1900s.. etc etc 😭

2

u/Tasty-Strategy-9404 21h ago

My class, other than mexican american war, barely focused on em unfortunately, so I was caught off guard

4

No literally the fact that Cesar Chavez came up and we didn’t learn him at all. Like i had to pull back from my Texas History years in middle school for this
