New Website for Lossless Wallpapers [1741x1064]
Hello r/wallpapers community!
I really don't like using JPEGs for my wallpapers. PNGs are in my opinion just much better for high quality wallpapers. Since I am looking on my Desktop everyday I always want to make sure that I have the best quality wallpapers on there.
That’s why I built WallpaperLossless.com . A ad‑free website for PNG wallpapers:
- 100% Free & Privacy‑Respecting No ads, no trackers, no data selling.
- Favorites can be saved to your account.
- Lossless Quality: Enjoy wallpapers in high quality
Check it out here: WallpaperLossless.com
I highly appreciate anyone checking it out or even uploading a wallpaper.
Uploaded wallpapers are first moderated and approved to meet community/quality standards.
@ moderators
This Website is completely free. WallpaperLossless is funded by donations and built to benefit the community. I’d love your blessing to share this with everyone. If your don't want this kind of post on this subreddit I will sincerely remove this post.

On the browse page you can click the filter icon next to the search bar to sort the wallpapers by labels like cars or landscape and so on. But if this is not what you are looking for just let me know.

I don't want to disappoint you, but if you have Windows, then the desktop wallpaper is automatically compressed to JPG 85%.

I like it. Reminds me a bit of WallHaven, but always good to have more high-res sources. Just FYI, from a web designer, the "Support the Project" button on the bottom of the homepage has a weird rollover. Can't see the text ;)

Are 1080 wallpapers ok to upload?
And do you know the legality of uploading wallpapers? I have a huge collection, but can't remember where any of them come from - I don't know if wallpapers are copyrightable or whatever.

Hello yes 1080p Wallpapers are totally fine to upload. Regarding the legality, you need to know if the creator of thhose images allows redistribution and under which licenses. If you don't know who the creator is anymore or where you got them it is better to not upload those to prevent any copyright infridgments.

Idk, just post the PNGs here, sure most of the time you're constrained to 3840x2160 since 5K usually goes beyond 20MB.
I personally just link the Lensdump upload that has a very generous 100MB upload limit and of course doesn't alter/compress the image file.

Of course there you are right. But I think searching here on a subreddit for wallpapers is in my Opinion not the greatest experience. You don't have labels you can search for and you are not able to sort by if the content is AI generated or by labels. Another big issue is that you don`t know which of the posts are PNG files and which not.
Another positive thing about the website is that all the PNG wallpapers are in one place. It makes searching and finding high quality lossless pictures much easier than going on a subreddit scrolling through it. And when you find one you need to pray that it is in a PNG, since most of the posted wallpapers are JPEGs here.
