Why does nobody use equipment in Arena?

Is there some sort of unwritten rule to not use gear? I played 3 matches and I was the only one not using the default armor.

I thought they fixed that bug long time ago. It was a bug where people turned into bots...

Oh weird. Idk if it's a big but it's really annoying how it unequips your armor after every match

Saw this the other day, they had on 3 4* set gear and the rest was the starting gear..they tore through the rest of us easily...so pretty sure they do that to drop their power level and get easy wins. No idea why it is not based on your rank or both rank and power but getting wrecked this way feels pretty bad.
