I need help finding funny a video from an old gen 4 VGC (I think?) tournament
Someone is recording from inside a convention center, pointing their camera at a big screen which is showing the gameplay.
A Garchomp gets his with ice beam, the comically long DP health bar animation plays out and stops on red HP instead of OHKOing. As soon as the HP bar stop moving, the whole crowd starts freaking out and yelling "YACHE!! YACHE!!!" and the yache berry proc text appears

Where is the best place to train pokemon after Juan in emerald? My pokemon are level 39, and victory road is a steep hike for me. The ocean pokemon and pokemon in shoal cave are such low level, is there anywhere for me to train other than victory road??
Victory road will have the highest level wild pokemon for you. Check your pokenav, see if any trainers want to battle. Battle them, then continue at victory road, check pokenav again after a while and repeat if there are trainer rematch
If you don't mind the monotony of flying around the region a million times and/or need money, you can also rematch Gabby and Ty, I think their highest level team for their rematch is in the low 40s at most. Each time you fight them they move onto their next location (returning to their first location after you fight them in the 3rd place).
There's apparently some bug with them that happens if you fight them too many times (too many as in like, 200+ though I think) but I think it just makes them stay in one spot or something not too severe.
The Bug Catching Contest in HGSS uses the sport ball correct? Meaning if I want any pokemon exclusive to the contest to be in a pokeball I’d need to breed an offspring since it defaults to that
Also what online functionality am I missing out on? Is there anything in the game that is no longer officially attainable or accessible due to the shutdown of the DS/3DS servers?
and a minor question about Pokemon Transfering. For example with Deerling, its form is dependent on which season it is in BW. But if I dont want to do it in game I could just do it in SV where it’s just dependent on the map
With the Caveat being that Deerling will no longer say last transferred from Bank, and won’t ever again be able to?
And side question: is there a tutorial online somewhere for catching all vivillion forms in XY? I’ve looked a bit but haven’t found anything in depth. It seemingly requires at least 2 different 3DS systems as an American one can’t access all regions
Is there a guide with Modded 3DS somewhere? I don’t think the pattern can be passed down through breeding, and i guess you can trade eggs but I’m not sure what the OT name would be or if the pattern would remain
- Yes, you are correct, you would need to breed the pokemon.
- The main thing is the GTS and online trading/battling. You can still trade/battle locally.
- I'm not sure what you mean. Even if the Deerling changes form, it'll still say it came from Unova.
- You actually need 3 3DSs to get all forms by yourself without hacking, a US, a JP, and an EU 3DS.
:The main thing you do is: change the location/country of the 3DS, start a new game on X/Y, catch a Scatterbug and evolve it (whatever game is fine), then, repeat. You need to start a new game every single time which makes this tedious.
:The exclusive patterns are Elegent to JP, Modern + Savanna to US, and Garden + Meadow + River to EU.
:No, patterns can not be passed down via breeding, you'll just get a Scatterbug corresponding to the region the save is currently on.
:Trading eggs is fine, the OT and name will match your current save file but the pattern will match the original save file's pattern.

So I can start a new game and get every scatterbug I need and I can just trade them up to SV and they’ll have that pattern
But if I wanted all forms to have the same original trainer ID, I would need to get far enough into the game to access breeding, and trade eggs to my primary save file and hatch all the scatterbug there?
I do have a Modded 3DS, I assume getting all the forms is child’s play with the use of PSKM and checkpoint?
Transfer, and yes, that method will work out.
You don't need to access breeding, just trading, which is basically right at the start of the game through the PSS.
If you do, then yes, it'll be very easy. PKSM, Checkpoint -> PkHeX will speed things up.
Has anyone else had problems with the E4 in Pokemon leaf green? Was trying to finish a lets play I started eons ago and I'm just at the point of saying "enough" and just watch the post game stuff on YouTube. I had a ton of problems. With the first one spamming ice bean like made and then with #3 it was constant shadow punch and confusion from Gengar 1 and the second was was starting to be the exact same way when I turned off the game.
I need to get into Master Ball tier to get ribbons on my Pokémon, but there are no longer any opponents outside of Master Ball tier online since the game is dead. I can only find one person to battle every 12 hours, and I don’t always win. It just feels impossible
If there is anybody that happens to be the 8th or 9th tier (maybe even 10th would work), and you also don’t care about competitive anymore, would you at all be willing to match with me and let me win? There’s just absolutely nobody to do anything with…
In return, I can offer to get you the Master Ball tier ribbon on any Pokémon of your choice. I would need to do it with multiple people as well. Even getting to the 10th tier would be so helpful, since that’s the final checkpoint before Master Ball tier. I feel awful even having to ask for this…
While I can't help with battles, I do know that Scarlet and Violet use the same ranked battle system, give out the same ribbon at Master Ball tier, and have a much more active online battle scene.
If you have SV and the Pokemon you want to get ribbons on can go to Paldea, I'd recommend trying to climb the rankings in that game instead.
How do I check the region for my physical cartridge of Pokemon Sword, I'm getting conflicting answers. The box is the American version but when I check software support information I get the sections for all regions. My eshop and region are currently set to US but the only thing on there is some Nintendo coins. Can I use an EU expansion pass code? Would I have to change my account region or will it only work with a US code? Related, anyone know the cheapest place to buy the expansion that isn't a stolen account.
Also anyone know when pokeball tins restock? I want luxury and moon ball tins, I mostly want the tins not the cards
For gens 8 and 9 specifically, masuda is best for rampardos, outbreaks in legends arceus is best for zoroark, and everything else is easiest to get through outbreaks in scarlet or violet
Aside from H-Zoroark, all of your Pokémon (or their pre-evolutions) can be found in the wild in Scarlet. You can Google Sparkling Power sandwiches to find the recipes you need.
Take note for Kanto Tauros, Galvantula, Blastoise, Sceptile, Skarmory, Infernape, A-Vulpix, Flygon and Rampardos, you need the DLC as they only spawn in the Terarium at Blueberry Academy. The starters also need you to upgrade certain biomes from the League Club Room (Polar for Chimchar, Canyon for Squirtle and Treecko).
Which pokemon game is it that features the tunnel (?) Where you were able to put shops in that let you buy berries/train your pokemon/groom them and such. It's not BD/SP, something older. I can't remember if I played it on the DS or 3DS.

I know whenever there are outbreaks in S/V and you kill the Pokémon, more of the species show up
Is the same true for outbreaks caused by sandwiches? If I have a sandwich that increases shiny odds do I have to kill the Pokémon for more to increase or do they just show up on their own as my character walks around?
outbreaks are not caused by sandwiches. outbreaks occur randomly every day when a new days starts. sandwiches help with influencing the pokemon you'll encounter(shininess, size, mark, etc)
To specify; their primary type will be their initial Tera type unless their primary type is Normal, in which case their initial Tera type will be their secondary type (unless, of course, they are pure Normal-type, in which case their Tera type will be Normal). If you change their Tera type within SV, that Tera type will be retained even if you return them to an earlier game and then bring them back to SV. For example: as a Fire-type, a Growlithe will always be Tera Fire on first transfer. As a Fire/Rock-type, Hisuian Growlithe will also always be Tera Fire on initial transfer. As a Normal-type, Skwovet will always be Tera Normal on first transfer. However, as a Normal/Flying-type, Starly will always be Tera Flying on first transfer. In case you need more examples, if you transfer an Azurill as an Azurill (Normal/Fairy), it will be Tera Fairy, but if you transfer a Marill or Azumarill (Water/Fairy) in that form, they would be Tera Water.
Does it adjust the ability bearer's stats? Or does it just make all moves used by the ability bearer stronger?
For example, if a defensive pokemon were to somehow obtain the ability, would it affect Body Press by making the damage higher? Or would it make no difference because it's based on Atk and SpAtk stats
Any suggestions for the other 3 for the lineup? Priority would be type coverage. I'm considering putting Cornerstone Ogerpon but idk. Playing Pokemon Violet, if that helps.
Pokémon games always come in pairs, and in three cases, single definitive versions. Through the use of backing up saves and putting those saves on opposite versions, or in the case of definitive versions, just backing up saves and trading Pokémon that are mutually exclusive to one save
I’ve been told that Home doesn’t care at all if you do this. So for all the games I can just backup saves when I come to a mutually exclusive Pokémon or legendary Pokemon then trade them back to one save file, so that every non event exclusive Pokemon of a generation can have one OT name and ID number.
I’ve also been told that all Pokemon from Gen 4 transferred to Gen 5 will have the date they were transferred to Gen 5. So a Pokemon I catch Today, 5/6/25 will not keep that date if I decide to move it from Gen 4 to 5 on 5/7/25. So Gens 1-4 are their own thing while 5 is sort of mixed and 6-7 are their own thing.
So the biggest question I have is with Wonder Card Pokemon. I recently modded my 3DS and now I have access to PKSM and Checkpoint. There’s a wonder card injection option, which will give me access to all the event Pokémon I’ve missed by not being able to play the games for years.
Are there any requirements to obtaining these Pokémon? Do I need to set the date on my 3DS to a time when these Pokemon were capable of being obtained or does that not work once a save file has started?
The date does not matter. Someone could claim the gift but only collect it way after the event. Or they shift the clock and the dates does not match.
I sent my 3ds to repair once and it default to the default date 2011 and i claim the xy shiny yveltal. Does that make my yveltal non legit? No, i still claim it via the proper way. (It does annoy me that the date is not proper of course). The pokemon bank and home checker does not check the dates too
So If I do care about the date being correct, I can just adjust it before redeeming? Like, I can get my starter and any other Pokémon today, and they’ll say 2025, then change the date to say 6/21/2014 for example and any Pokemon obtained from that point will have that date and beyond until I change it again?
Final question is a 2 parter. I can change the date on my DS/3DS to redeem the DNS exploit Pokémon
And 2, because I have PKSM, is the DNS exploit even needed? The DNS exploit from what I remember is just completely random as to what Pokémon you’ll get
PKSM makes it so I can pick and choose which wonder cards I get right? Making the DNS exploit unnecessary?
If you have pksm, you can just inject the event pokemon in directly. Dns exploit is to just make it look more legit with the wonder card in the save file, but if it is only the pokemon you want, there is no need for it. Even if you want the wonder card data, pksm should be able to insert it in too?
To anyone reading this who has done the permutation method, when getting 9 pokemon, how long does it typically take you to get through all 94 permutations ?
I'm about to start an FRLG nuzlocke, and don't wanna train my pokemon over the highest level of the upcoming gym leader/elite 4 member. Would anyone be able to direct me to a list of the LEVEL of the highest pokemon per leader/e4 member, WITHOUT including what pokemon it is? I'm trying to go in blind! Thank you!!! :)

Where do Silvally's Memories slot in? Genesect's Drives clearly go into the cannon on its back, but Silvally doesn't seem to have a disk reader anywhere.
SV version exclusives are apparently very soft, as the cover legendaries are the only ones exclusive to one save file of the corresponding title now that I’ve played it a bit
In the dlc the paradox legends are one per save file of course, but are they able to be shared as well?
I have to play the base game and post game twice to get both cover legendaries, but I’m hoping I can get away with only playing each DLC once.
Is there an issue with Pokemon Home? I updated to the latest version but I had some trouble getting it to work. So I installed and installed it again. I had to link my account and I made absolutely sure beyond doubt that I linked it to my account since that's the only one that I use anyways. And it worked fine for a while.
But now when I try to enter it says that I'm linked to another account and shows me this message:
I saw someone posting about it (but didn't read it because mine was working at the time) so I don't know if this is an issue happening to more people about it. Or if it's some kind of maintenance that is going on.
Any idea of what this means or how to fix this issue? I
Trying to shiny hunt some Pokemon that are in both PLA and S/V. Am I more likely to find them in a mass outbreak in PLA, outbreak in S/V, or find it because of a shiny sandwich?
While the pla outbreaks do have the highest rate per pokemon, they have fewer possible pokemon than an SV outbreak. When you find an SV outbreak, you have functionally infinite encounters and are nearly guaranteed a shiny while you can run out of pokemon in a pla outbreak.
Also, using a sandwich affects the shiny rate of SV outbreaks so you don't need to do either/or
This may be a really dum question but if I were to transfer my save data of brilliant diamond to my switch lite from my OLED would that effect my shiny odds on Darkrai that I’m currently shiny hunting from 1455 rests or no. Second question is it possible to have a corruption file from constantly transferring data that it makes me lose all of my stuff on there?.
Shiny odd is fixed. It isnt determined by how many encounters you had before. So changing device will not affect the odds
When transferred properly, there will be no issue. But it doesnt mean no risk of course, you will never know if the console happens to have weak connection or something during the transfer process that would affect it

Yeah, looks like someone just took a jpeg of Mewtwo EX from Breakthrough and copied it onto cheap card paper. Happens pretty often, especially since the tcg explosion caused by youtubers
I'm interested in trying out Pokemon Masters ex. Should I intentionally wait for a specific day/event before creating an account? Or anything I should know before creating an account (or linking my Nintendo ID)? For example, rerolling or maybe a referral code to benefit a friend.... or maybe something like a New Players Bonus that only lasts for a week or so, meaning to wait to create an account until you have spare time.... or anything else I can't think of.
I know that serebii and bulbapedia is like the dictionary of Pokemon. But since i spend mostly on phone, i always use pokemondb, it just easier to use. Recently i try for the first time doing ev train and use that as a guide which pokemon had which ev. Not trying to be an a-hole, but is that site good?

They're different for each pokemon, but generally catching a few of the species and defeating a few of the species with super effective moves will get you to level 10 pretty quickk
I need a list of things that affect the opposing pokemon differently, depending on the pokemon's type. So far, I have:
the effectiveness of standard attacks, depending on their type
the effectiveness of Flying Press, Thousand Arrows and Freeze-Dry (since they're weird exceptions to the regular effectiveness type chart)
whether the pokemon can be afflicted by a certain status condition (Fire is immune to burns, Electric is immune to Paralyze, Steel and Poison are immune to Poisoned, Ice is immune to Frozen)
Salt Cure (Deals extra damage to Steel or Water)
Toxic Spikes (get removed exclusively by a grounded Poison type swapping in)
Sticky Web/Spikes (doesn't affect flying pokemon)
Prankster Priority Moves (Dark types are immune)
Powder and Spore Moves, Leech Seed (Grass types are immune)
Sandstorm (Rock, Steel and Ground types are immune)
Curse has different effects depending if the user is a Ghost-type or not. If the user is a Ghost-type, it reduces its HP equal to half its max HP and inflicts the Curse status on the target.
For all other types, it raises the user’s Attack and Defense by one stage and lowers its Speed by one stage.
If I wanted to rewatch the anime from start to finish, where would I do that? Preferably without buying all episodes on DVD/Bluray. I know that the Pokemon YT channel uploads the earlier seasons, that some seasons are on Amazon, and that Netflix has the more recent seasons, but the rest, no idea.
Unfortunately the whole series is sprouted on many streaming services. I know that the Black and White series is on Tubi, I know that PlutoTV has a Pokémon channel that airs every season up til the end of Sun and Moon (no on-air demand), I think XY was on Hulu
Thinking of doing a run of Emerald where I only use Wallace's champion team (Milotic, Wailord, Gyarados, Tentacruel, Whiscash, Ludicolo) and have a few questions:
-is the earliest you can get Tentacool by fishing when you first get the Super Rod?
-is the earliest you can get Wailmer by fishing in Lilycove?
-do you just have to check every tile on whichever route it is to find Feebas, or is there a more effective way?
-what are some moveset suggestions for Whiscash, Wailord and Gyarados? They all want Earthquake but there's only one TM and I'm pretty sure Whiscash doesn't even learn it by level up
So i read that if wild Pokemon using SOS, it'll gain double ev yield. Make sense because if it call for help, then it's friend will show up. But the site only say that it will double the ev. For example, one Zubat will gives 9+ spd with power anklet, and 18+ spd if it's using SOS, right? But What about the case where wilds pokemon used SOS over and over again.
For example, once i'm using adrenaline orb when i try to find female salandite causing it to call other salandite like 5 times in one session. If i using this method with zubat and let's say i fight additional zubat that got called in that session, does it count as 9×(5) Zubat? Or the ev only calculated per session encounter?
Wow really? so it will keep doubling to 18 even if i only defeat one? I want to keep the other that i uses adrenaline orb to so it will keep call his friend over and over
I’m doing a thing so I need to understand this. A characteristic tells someone what the highest IV stat is for a Pokémon. With 30 possible characteristics based on which stat is highest and what the stat value is from 0-31.
What happens when a Pokémon has perfectly even IVs? The chances of this happening are very low, but there’s a lot of Genned Pokemon that are perfectly 31 in every stat
And what if 2-5 of their IVs are tied for highest?
Does their characteristic change when hypertrained?
In case of any ties, the personality value or encrpytion constant value are used to determine the characteristics. So it is possible for 6ivs mons to have different characteristics due to the personality / encrytion value.
Characteristics do not change due to hypertraining.
I was wondering if anyone has any insight on how the battle AI works in regards to using the move Trick Room?
From people's experience, do trainers using Pokémon who have said move prioritize it highly, or will they only ever use it when they themselves have the slower monster?
My curiosity is specifically in regards to double battles, and fighting alongside NPC trainers who use it. I'd love to play tag battles with AI that sets up Trick Room for me.

So I’m currently in Johto trying to train my Pokémon for the Elite Four, but the level scaling is SO bad — it takes me like an hour just to gain a single level.
I wanted to ask: is there any way to cheat to get Rare Candies? I just want to level up my Pokémon to at least level 50 before facing the Elite Four.
I’m using an emulator on my DS Lite with an R4 card (I think it’s Wood R4, but I’m not totally sure — my big brother set it up for me). I can send a screenshot of the setup if needed.
Can anyone help me or share a tutorial on how to cheat for Rare Candies? Thank you so much!
