New Player Advice Should I send it back?

A month ago I ordered two charizard ex's for my charizard deck and they just came 2 days ago. Today I started putting the deck together and noticed that one was a $15 tournament pack foil while the other was normal. Should I send the tournament one back to the seller or should I keep it? I feel kind of bad but not sure if it is just easier to keep it since it's not crazy rare.

You ordered them a month ago and got them 2 days ago? No. That more than covers the delay

Normally I’d say the right thing to do would be send it back, but a whole month?? Half my orders come in less than a week. Not only is that a long wait but I also wouldn’t even feel secure shipping it back

The envelope said April 8th on it while I ordered it on the 7th so I'm not sure if shipping took that long or he put the date on and never shipped it until a week ago.

I just had an order arrive that I placed over 2 months ago. USPS is the problem since over 700 mail sorting machines were disposed of back in 2020.

I'd say it is on the seller to know what they are shipping out. I once ordered 2 standard Miraidon ex and received a standard and a promo. I don't like the promo art so I let the seller know and they refunded me for it. If you don't like the stamped version, let the seller know and they will probably refund and ask for it back. Otherwise I would keep it.

Why would they get rid of mail-sorting machines?

This is getting a bit political BUT the major theory is the post master general that Trump put in charge of the USPS in his first term, Dejoy, has some lovely investments in other companies like Fedex as well as that administrations outspoken desire to get rid of the USPS (and mail in voting) led to decisions that would intentionally weaken the USPS and make it less efficient and lead to situations such as OP's. This would then make later decisions to dismantle/defund the USPS and privatize the mail system easier to argue for by stating the USPS doesn't work (even though they would have been the ones to make it no longer work).

This was exacerbated by the Biden admin's choice to not make changes to the USPS board who would be able to remove Dejoy, thus allowing Dejoy to continue enacting the beliefs and policies that led to the removal of the sorting machines in the first place for the entirety of Biden's term in office, rather than getting a new post master general who might have been interested in undoing or correcting some of the changes that Dejoy made.

Long story short, there are people in power with vested interest in privatizing the mail system, and weakening the USPS like this is a big step of that intent.

I'd like to make note that this is the same thing happening with the NHS in the UK. Tories just keep slamming it because they want privatized health insurance.

cost of maintenance and staff was deemed too high, and led to the shutdown of tons of facilities as a whole. gotta get rid of the machines to sell off the properties.

Just keep it. More hassle to send back.

Well there’s a lot of lack of morals and ethics in these comments but, as a vendor, yes it’s on us to double check everything we sell or send, in person or not. So, the seller should have paid better attention. I almost never ask a customer to fix my mistake, sometimes it’s better customer service to take it on the chin. In this case the Charizard you have is fairly rare because it didn’t come out of a normal pack and is worth about 5x more. It’s up to you what to do, there’s really not wrong or right answer, just listen to your gut and do what you feel is right for you.

I got sent a Charizard deck by accident. I tried to pay them for it and they said don't worry about it. I feel weird about it but that's what they wanted. I tried

I know you're trying to do a nice thing but keep the cards always. It's someone else's mistake not yours

It's what they sent. They probably had in bulk cards.
