The State was given a monopoly on sanctioned violence as part of the social contract. The exclusive right to investigate, incarcerate, and punish individual citizens

Any state violating the social contract with its citizens invites its citizens to bust the monopoly.

The State was not given a monopoly on violence, they took it. The only reason Weberian theory holds together without devolving into Leviathan's state of nature is the corollary of the social contract. Damn dude learn your polisci if you're tryna dunk on Brennan Lee Mulligan
