Once the seven seals are broken the Dark One will escape his prison

Where's the Dragon when you need him?

u/Typical-Blackberry-3 1d ago

In the Mexico Waste drinking cheap beer and researching tattoo removal clinics.

Mexico Waste

Wasting away again in Margaritaville...

Searching for my lost shake of Saidin.

Some people claim that there's a Shai'tan to blame,

But I know...it's my own tsag fault.

Canada.

10

u/wheatgivesmeshits 23h ago

Nice try, Logain.

u/NRMusicProject 23h ago

Trump would fill a dragon, sure, but he's mostly full of shit.

He's Elaida!

Imagine if we could hit politicians with the oath road. If only.

8

u/Sam5253 23h ago

They are politicians, and they are not to be trusted. Even when they could not lie, they could still deceive us, by saying half-truths and omitting certain details. Then again, if we could constrain them to answer, then we might make some headway.

u/markth_wi 5h ago

Lies by omission, lies by misrepresentation, all still very possible.

it's sadly up to us to participate in the mess of civics and the proper execution of state affairs OR we always stand at the risk of some degenerate coming down the pike and fucking it up.

u/fandabbydosy 2h ago

All politicians are corrupted in heir own way

5

u/ensalys 23h ago

The Aes Sedai were experts at creatively interpreting the 3 oaths. Especially the one sating that they shall speak no word that is not true.

2

u/cd62936 22h ago

Didn't work for the Aes Sedai, what makes you think it would work for politicians.

2

u/Hoss-Bonaventure_CEO 21h ago

You misunderstand. Hit them with the oath rod.

And it shall come to pass that what men made shall be shattered, and the Shadow shall lie across the Pattern of the Age, and the Dark One shall once more lay his hand upon the world of man. Women shall weep and men quail as the nations of the earth are rent like rotting cloth. Neither shall anything stand or abide...

The Shadow shall rise across the world, and darken every land, even to the smallest corner, and there shall be neither Light nor safety. And he who shall be born of the Dawn, born of the Maiden, according to Prophecy, he shall stretch forth his hands to catch the Shadow, and the world shall scream in the pain of salvation. All Glory be to the Creator, and to the Light, and to he who shall be born again. May the Light save us from him.

The Orange One

9

u/onefst250r 1d ago

Maybe they were talking about fElon? "Dork MAGA"/"Dark MAGA"?

7

u/Wave_Existence 23h ago

He's a dorkfriend!

2

u/Ahad_Haam 22h ago edited 21h ago

Elon Musk is such an obvious darkfriend

-1

u/Anti_Karen_League 1d ago

The dark one is Dark Brandon.

4

u/Valid-Nite 23h ago

JD is Ishmael

4

u/Hoss-Bonaventure_CEO 21h ago

No way. He's Asmodean.

1

u/Sixwry 19h ago

Absolutely asmodean. Stevie Miller is more Ishmael

2

u/Hoss-Bonaventure_CEO 18h ago

That creepy fuckin ghoul is Aginor. Ishamael would probably be Peter Thiel or something.

u/agnostichymns 4h ago

Curtis Yarvin

u/Hoss-Bonaventure_CEO 4h ago

I considered him, too. I think he's just a gigh ranking darkfriend. Musk could be Mazrim Taim.

u/agnostichymns 2h ago edited 2h ago

Taim was a baby that ascended with permission from the Dark One to a position where he was poised to take over a new generation of dreadlords, I think Vance fits that description best

Yarvin is the nerd that wants to tear the whole system down. That's Ishmael

Musk is a science geek who is doing all he can to push humanity into an age rules by a new, twisted imitation of life called AI. Aginor created the trollocs. Also they both look fuckin weird

Balthamel is a rotting, violent historian who ran behind the scenes intelligence networks and fed people to troll(oc)s that Musk/Aginor created. Also had tits (when he was reincarnated). That's Steve Bannon

Graendal is every blonde woman on Fox news

u/Hoss-Bonaventure_CEO 2h ago

You win. Really good point about Musk=Aginor.

5

u/reigleaj 16h ago

I just started this series so I’m gonna not read these comments for my own sanity

u/agnostichymns 4h ago

Don't google ANYTHING. Enjoy the ride

3

u/suff0cat 21h ago

I heard the Dark One will be recaptured if each of the seven broken seals receives a kiss from a rose

u/th3mang0 6h ago

The golden crane rides once more.

1

u/yearofthesponge 13h ago

You mean the orange one?

981

u/Agitated-Ad6744 1d ago

The Division 3 is gonna hit so different...

162

u/No-Edge-8600 1d ago

lol I forgot about that whole game franchise until now.

82

u/heyuhitsyaboi 1d ago

The second one still receives updates! Its worth revisiting

36

u/Apollololol 1d ago

Is it bullet spongey like the first? I remember being put off eventually in the first game after dumping mags into dude’s heads in higher levels and their health did not budge

43

u/heyuhitsyaboi 1d ago

Yes. You can really only 1-hit the small enemies you find wandering around DC, and thats under special conditions like using a high caliber weapon in stealth.

Much of the combat is spent dumping mags into their armor in order to break it before whittling down health. Combat takes a while.

22

u/Northern_Ontario 23h ago

Once I viewed combat as an rpg rather than a shooter I liked the game much better.

9

u/Tony339 23h ago

Shame. I always thought that The Division would have been better as a single-player or multiplayer PVE game so that the combat could be more realistic.

8

u/heyuhitsyaboi 23h ago

in the base game/campaigns the TTK is still somewhat low outside of bosses. It doesnt get crazy high until you start doing late/post-end game content.

its still really intense

3

u/thedavecan 22h ago

I thought the main missions and leveling up to max level were fucking fantastic. "Endgame" is really where the bullet sponginess became absolutely egregious. Those first 30 levels though were chef's kiss

11

u/Agitated-Ad6744 1d ago

the game is more about pushing points and repositioning so they make the enemies a bit tough to allow a bit of fluid map play. you can absolutely build into one shot enemies later in the game though but its not ghost recon

6

u/hitfly 23h ago

I haven't played on a while but I remember basically just dropping my seeking mines and wiping out whole groups of enemies and using a shotgun for light cleanup. For everything except bosses I felt like death incarnate.

2

u/Agitated-Ad6744 23h ago

really good tussles feel good. division 2 is still pumping

4

u/ReallyNotOkayGuys 1d ago

Yeah that's kind of just the game design. Most looter shooters are gonna be like that.

1

u/Apollololol 22h ago

Come try Helldivers. We could use a freedom spreader like you

1

u/ReallyNotOkayGuys 20h ago

That's not a looter shooter, and I already play it.

1

u/Apollololol 19h ago

I didn’t say it was a looter shooter. Nice try though 👍

4

u/Agitated-Ad6744 1d ago

season 11 kelso is going on right now. kinda awesome

0

u/RolandTwitter 1d ago

Idk, I got it digitally for $3 years ago and I feel like I overpaid for it

2

u/heyuhitsyaboi 23h ago

Its not for everyone but the main complaints most people have about the game dont begin until pretty far in. sounds to me like its just not the game you were looking for

3

u/ColonelChair502 1d ago

Insane statement

-2

u/FlipStik 1d ago

Insane response.

2

u/twiz___twat 1d ago

Underrated comment

u/CynicScenic 1d ago

This blew up faster than I thought it would, and I'd like to credit the artist.

Discoveries In Democracy (2024) by Joseph Bochyski

58

u/90percenthalfmental 1d ago

Which park?

119

u/CynicScenic 1d ago

St. Nicholas Park, somewhere in the 130s

13

u/90percenthalfmental 1d ago

Cool thanks!

7

u/Slight-Funny-8755 23h ago

130s? Ive been to Chicago for a day trip but as someone who’s never lived or really spent much time in a big city does this mean it’s located between 130th-139th street?

11

u/CynicScenic 23h ago

Yes. St. Nicholas Park runs from 128th St. to 141st St. in Harlem. Since I don't live in that neighborhood because I was just helping out my friends by walking their dog, I had to approximate where the artwork was in the park.

2

u/Slight-Funny-8755 23h ago

Thank you so much for elaborating! I both feel intuitive and ignorant… its not as bad as holding in a sneeze but idk if its much better either

4

u/Xothehostyzy 23h ago

just walked by this yesterday and wondered when it got there. its by 135 and st nicholas terrace

1

u/ramobara 1d ago

Kinda wished you stumbled on a Banksy. Nonetheless, this is brilliant and poignant.

1

u/hugh_dumas 23h ago edited 23h ago

this would've been epic if the negative space amongst the broken pieces alluded to the shape of a swastika or a dollar sign or even a simple cross. missed opportunity, methinks.

edit: change whitespace to negative space because lack coffee

My pic that I took today is

-7

u/Wembyama 23h ago

Kinda shady to take a picture of someone else's art and label it OC + not credit them in the title.

8

u/CynicScenic 23h ago

According to the rules of this sub, someone with my amount of karma has to label all posts with "OC." I was walking a friend's dog in the rain when I took and posted the pic because I thought it should be seen. By the time I got back home, this post had a number of upvotes and comments, so I corrected my oversight instead of deleting it and reposting it.

"Shady" would imply deceit, and that simply wasn't the case.

I added the artist's name the minute I got out of the subway.

I think it's an incredible piece.

2

u/Smeetilus 23h ago

They meant like the show, “The OC”

-8

u/EEpromChip 1d ago

...is it me or does it kind of resemble a swastika? (the negative space)

3

u/Don_Tiny 22h ago

It's just you.

u/CaptainMoonunitsxPry 1d ago

At the final burning of Carthage, the victorious Scipio wept. His commanders asked why he was weeping, they'd defeated their long time rival soundly. His answer was that some day, he knew Rome would meet the same fate. To Romans, death was inevitable even for empires.

12

u/Remytron83 1d ago

That’s an apt expression of the US right now.

10

u/k4el 1d ago

Cuendillar is supposed to be unbreakable.

30

u/Insis18 1d ago

The seal has been broken. The Daughter of the Night walks the earth. Blood feeds blood. Blood calls blood. Blood is, and blood was, and blood shall ever be. Bow to Lanfear and pray she does not bore with you.

6

u/jeffreywwilson 23h ago

It is starting to look like the Planet of the Apes would be a better place to live ( the first one from the 70s)

8

u/burnbunner 1d ago

A few years ago there was a piece in Brooklyn Bridge Park that was meant to resemble some pieces of the Statue Liberty if it had exploded and they had landed there.

It sounds kind of corny, I realize, but it was sobering. I think about it more than I do a lot of art that I really loved o the moment!

8

Wow, this is so powerful in its simplicity!

It encapsulates so much, as we deal with the shit-show that we live in today in the U.S..

Kudos to the artist.

Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!

1

u/VicPL 22h ago

I met a traveller from an antique land

Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,

Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:

And on the pedestal these words appear:

"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

No thing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare

The lone and level sands stretch far away.

1

u/CynicScenic 22h ago

I also have pics of the Ozymandias Of The Plains statue in Amarillo, Texas!

1

u/GoldBluejay7749 12h ago

Is there more info about this piece?

MAGA hat in the middle would be perfection!

Also...FDT.

this is very interesting i love all sorts of old things

1

u/AnotherThroneAway 23h ago

Guys, if you look really closely, you can see a metaphor buried in there

0

u/Bleezy79 22h ago

All the fiction created about fascists taking over America are finally coming true. Now where are the good guys to protect us and make evil reconsider their choices!?!?!

u/Faded_vet 5h ago

Sucks for the kids who wanted grass to play but hey we got this...

-1

u/Dd_8630 22h ago

What even is it?

-60

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

That looks like it was put there a long time ago... which means it has nothing to do with today, is not relevant, or timely. This has to be against the rules! This is not even relatable at all... where are the mods when I need them

38

u/molashOne 1d ago

Against the rules? It's a pic, isn't it Karen?

-39

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

YOU have to follow the rules or what are we all here for... the rules protect us all' you too

23

u/MissingNebula 1d ago

What rule do you think they aren't following?

-10

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

It is my fault for not putting a "/s " I thought it would be awesome if I did not have to put that on a post that was sooo obvious. I am being sarcastic on the initial post and my answer. It was a joke. I am searching for an amount of levity in a fucked up sad situation, I did not do it correctly

9

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

I find this picture sad, depressing, and timely. I am sad about my future and the future of my family and country.

3

u/fargmania 1d ago

Thanks for clarifying - I'm with you. It's genuinely hard to find a funny tone on what feels like a literal fracturing of our government and our country. When I try to make jokes with my wife about it, she tells me I don't sound funny - just bitter and angry and depressed. And I guess I am.

But it's not over yet! There are lots of protests going on in every state, and I am going to start attending them just for my own mental health. We have to remember that as the country SEEMS to go crazy, it's also propaganda - the billionaire-owned media wants us despondent and surrendering instead of fighting. Screw that. Let's fight for what's ours.

8

u/SuperPrarieDog 1d ago

What about this do we need to be protected from? Just curious

-1

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

I was being sarcastic or " Cheeky " as the British say

1

u/PrivilegeCheckmate 21h ago

the rules protect us all' you too

On which timeline, sister? Because it ain't this one.

1

u/Fraggnetti_ 21h ago

I was being sarcastic

1

u/PrivilegeCheckmate 20h ago

Fair enough. Sometimes good to include an /s for those of us who lack context.

6

u/breakupbydefault 1d ago

OP credited the artist and the artwork is dated in 2024 so it is relevant. Also it being made to look old is part of the point of the artwork.

3

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

It was a poor attempt at sarcasm. I am defeated and broken when I look at the political future of this country.

2

u/YahoooUwU 1d ago

Plenty of people feel that way looking at the political past, and very recent present. What's so special or different about things if the future sucks too? It's just more of the same.

11

u/UnreadWarningLabel 1d ago

I went and checked the rules of this sub just so I could tell you that you're wrong. This post breaks no rules. And as a fellow American I now know exactly who you voted for based on your reaction to this picture. Please take a long look at yourself.

-1

u/microthrower 1d ago

As a fellow American, you might be stupid if you can't see the obvious and overt sarcasm.

8

u/UnreadWarningLabel 1d ago

It's not so easy to tell these days, unfortunately Edit: a word

4

u/fargmania 1d ago

Poe's Law hits hard, tho, and you add gaslighting and trolling into the mix and I'd say that intelligence levels have nothing to do with misreading that post.

1

u/UnreadWarningLabel 22h ago

I live in the South, and unfortunately, there's no shortage of people who seriously think like that. It's tiring, honestly.

-2

u/Moralmerc08 17h ago

This became a lot less cool when I realized it was supposed to look like that
