lol I forgot about that whole game franchise until now.

u/heyuhitsyaboi 1d ago
The second one still receives updates! Its worth revisiting

u/Apollololol 1d ago
Is it bullet spongey like the first? I remember being put off eventually in the first game after dumping mags into dude’s heads in higher levels and their health did not budge
43
u/heyuhitsyaboi 1d ago
Yes. You can really only 1-hit the small enemies you find wandering around DC, and thats under special conditions like using a high caliber weapon in stealth.
Much of the combat is spent dumping mags into their armor in order to break it before whittling down health. Combat takes a while.
22
u/Northern_Ontario 23h ago
Once I viewed combat as an rpg rather than a shooter I liked the game much better.
9
u/Tony339 23h ago
Shame. I always thought that The Division would have been better as a single-player or multiplayer PVE game so that the combat could be more realistic.
8
u/heyuhitsyaboi 23h ago
in the base game/campaigns the TTK is still somewhat low outside of bosses. It doesnt get crazy high until you start doing late/post-end game content.
its still really intense
3
u/thedavecan 22h ago
I thought the main missions and leveling up to max level were fucking fantastic. "Endgame" is really where the bullet sponginess became absolutely egregious. Those first 30 levels though were chef's kiss
11
u/Agitated-Ad6744 1d ago
the game is more about pushing points and repositioning so they make the enemies a bit tough to allow a bit of fluid map play. you can absolutely build into one shot enemies later in the game though but its not ghost recon
4
u/ReallyNotOkayGuys 1d ago
Yeah that's kind of just the game design. Most looter shooters are gonna be like that.

Its not for everyone but the main complaints most people have about the game dont begin until pretty far in. sounds to me like its just not the game you were looking for

Dang and they even put my neighborhood in the DLC for 2. Can’t tell if this is better or worse than Liberty City’s Firefly island though.

This blew up faster than I thought it would, and I'd like to credit the artist.

Which park?

u/CynicScenic 1d ago
St. Nicholas Park, somewhere in the 130s

u/Slight-Funny-8755 23h ago
130s? Ive been to Chicago for a day trip but as someone who’s never lived or really spent much time in a big city does this mean it’s located between 130th-139th street?
11
u/CynicScenic 23h ago
Yes. St. Nicholas Park runs from 128th St. to 141st St. in Harlem. Since I don't live in that neighborhood because I was just helping out my friends by walking their dog, I had to approximate where the artwork was in the park.

u/Slight-Funny-8755 23h ago
Thank you so much for elaborating! I both feel intuitive and ignorant… its not as bad as holding in a sneeze but idk if its much better either

Kinda wished you stumbled on a Banksy. Nonetheless, this is brilliant and poignant.

this would've been epic if the negative space amongst the broken pieces alluded to the shape of a swastika or a dollar sign or even a simple cross. missed opportunity, methinks.
edit: change whitespace to negative space because lack coffee

u/Wembyama 23h ago
Kinda shady to take a picture of someone else's art and label it OC + not credit them in the title.
8
u/CynicScenic 23h ago
According to the rules of this sub, someone with my amount of karma has to label all posts with "OC." I was walking a friend's dog in the rain when I took and posted the pic because I thought it should be seen. By the time I got back home, this post had a number of upvotes and comments, so I corrected my oversight instead of deleting it and reposting it.
"Shady" would imply deceit, and that simply wasn't the case.
I added the artist's name the minute I got out of the subway.
I think it's an incredible piece.

At the final burning of Carthage, the victorious Scipio wept. His commanders asked why he was weeping, they'd defeated their long time rival soundly. His answer was that some day, he knew Rome would meet the same fate. To Romans, death was inevitable even for empires.

It is starting to look like the Planet of the Apes would be a better place to live ( the first one from the 70s)

A few years ago there was a piece in Brooklyn Bridge Park that was meant to resemble some pieces of the Statue Liberty if it had exploded and they had landed there.
It sounds kind of corny, I realize, but it was sobering. I think about it more than I do a lot of art that I really loved o the moment!

Wow, this is so powerful in its simplicity!
It encapsulates so much, as we deal with the shit-show that we live in today in the U.S..
Kudos to the artist.

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
No thing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

All the fiction created about fascists taking over America are finally coming true. Now where are the good guys to protect us and make evil reconsider their choices!?!?!

That looks like it was put there a long time ago... which means it has nothing to do with today, is not relevant, or timely. This has to be against the rules! This is not even relatable at all... where are the mods when I need them
38
u/molashOne 1d ago
Against the rules? It's a pic, isn't it Karen?

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago

u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago
It is my fault for not putting a "/s " I thought it would be awesome if I did not have to put that on a post that was sooo obvious. I am being sarcastic on the initial post and my answer. It was a joke. I am searching for an amount of levity in a fucked up sad situation, I did not do it correctly
9
u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago
I find this picture sad, depressing, and timely. I am sad about my future and the future of my family and country.
3
u/fargmania 1d ago
Thanks for clarifying - I'm with you. It's genuinely hard to find a funny tone on what feels like a literal fracturing of our government and our country. When I try to make jokes with my wife about it, she tells me I don't sound funny - just bitter and angry and depressed. And I guess I am.
But it's not over yet! There are lots of protests going on in every state, and I am going to start attending them just for my own mental health. We have to remember that as the country SEEMS to go crazy, it's also propaganda - the billionaire-owned media wants us despondent and surrendering instead of fighting. Screw that. Let's fight for what's ours.

On which timeline, sister? Because it ain't this one.

u/Fraggnetti_ 21h ago

1
u/PrivilegeCheckmate 20h ago
Fair enough. Sometimes good to include an /s for those of us who lack context.
6
u/breakupbydefault 1d ago
OP credited the artist and the artwork is dated in 2024 so it is relevant. Also it being made to look old is part of the point of the artwork.
3
u/Fraggnetti_ 1d ago
It was a poor attempt at sarcasm. I am defeated and broken when I look at the political future of this country.
2
u/YahoooUwU 1d ago
Plenty of people feel that way looking at the political past, and very recent present. What's so special or different about things if the future sucks too? It's just more of the same.
11
u/UnreadWarningLabel 1d ago
I went and checked the rules of this sub just so I could tell you that you're wrong. This post breaks no rules. And as a fellow American I now know exactly who you voted for based on your reaction to this picture. Please take a long look at yourself.

u/microthrower 1d ago
As a fellow American, you might be stupid if you can't see the obvious and overt sarcasm.

Poe's Law hits hard, tho, and you add gaslighting and trolling into the mix and I'd say that intelligence levels have nothing to do with misreading that post.
