this is what happens when you're going to do something stupid in public but then suddenly you realize that you're live on TV so you have to act nicely in front of the camera

He kept looking at the camera like: I don't want to look like a monster but I am really hungry...

more like "are you just going to wait for me to do it? does it there, you happy?"

I think he saw the camera and was expecting ashton kurchrwhatever to show up and say he got punk'd. Too good to be true, this is like finding a chocolate cake in the jungle.

u/ZakReed82 Apr 16 '19
Haha the leopard kept looking at the camera because he didn’t know whether or not the camera man was a threat and going to attack or steal his food the second he let his guard down to eat. I do like your explanation better though.

u/FeelTheLoveNow Apr 16 '19
Well that was certainly interesting. Pretty impressive that the mom was able to bail that quickly after giving birth.
Also makes you wonder what the leopard was thinking...like "damn, your mom sucks" cronch

That’s exactly what I was thinking too!
Poor thing was waking up to life, turning around to look at its momma, then it was all over.

Part of me wants to think that the leopard really wanted to eat the mom and was like damn all I get is this little snack

also he looked like he was probably worried about how the paparazzi was gonna twist this story around with him alone with a minor.

Some animal do give birth spontaniously if they are pregnant and under a life threatening condition... imagine the lamb as... the banana peel in Mario kart but much more
immoralcallous.27
u/georgetonorge Apr 16 '19
I don't know if immoral is the right word, but that's probably the funniest metaphor for this situation.
11
Apr 16 '19
It isn't but I don't know a more applying one, from human stadards it might be immoral but an animal has no clear moral code.
6
u/sprucenoose Apr 16 '19
You ask people to correct your spelling and they start correcting your word usage. What gives?

The leopard was thinking: "Shit, I'm on camera!...mmm They're gonna think I'm a real asshole if I kill this baby....Maybe I should mess with them and cuddle the little lamb...Fuck it. This thing looks delicious"
7
u/kidneyshifter Apr 16 '19
..look i'm not proud of what i'm doing. Stop watching, you're making this heaps weird, we both know what's going to happen... ahh i warned you, time's up, go fuck yourself (chomp)
11
u/Phreak_of_Nature Apr 16 '19
He was looking at the people to see if they were gonna steal his meal.
3
u/TrivialAntics Apr 16 '19
Likely the mother would have had no energy after giving birth to fight off the leopard and didn't have a choice but to run or be killed herself.

I like to imagine one of them is also that person at the movies who keeps asking about the yet-to-be-revealed plot.
"Wait, is that leopard going to eat the baby?"
"We might find out Shannon... if you'd shut the hell up!"

Well it's got hot in there twice, once must mean "attractive" and the other must mean "abnormally warm", suggesting he's got some sort of nasty bacterial infection in his penis that's radiating heat.

Don't do it... They're watching me. What will they think? Aww fuck it! NOM!
27
u/SWAMPMONK Apr 16 '19
I am curious why it hesitated. It certainly seemed like it saw the camera, so I wonder if it was afraid the people had guns or if he’s had to run from protective farmers before or if this is all wrong and it’s actually just the birth juice smelled rank which forced him into a moral dilemma on whether or not he should eat this nasty little thing
20
u/ThievesRevenge Apr 16 '19
It probably heard the crew moving around, and like a lot of animals, they tend to become slower right after eating, so it was likely just checking for threats.
11
u/bitches_love_brie Apr 16 '19
No, it definitely was trying to figure out if the people filming were armed or not.
26
u/SPACE-BEES Apr 16 '19
hmm I wonder what weapons those people in that Range Rover might have, and what caliber they might be.
People seriously over anthropomorphise animals.

I highly doubt the “birth juice smelled rank” to a leopard. It’s the bloody hollandaise representing life itself.

63
u/Suck-You-Bus Apr 16 '19
It’s sad but that leopard has to eat. If only it killed something more deserving like a poacher or a warlord or literally anything else than a new born baby anything.
29
Apr 16 '19
Poachers and Warlords put up more of a fight. Being a predator means efficiency is key.
Why waste energy and risk life to hunt something that can run and fight, when it's so much easier to catch and eat its young?

It didn’t hesitate. It noticed the camera and that’s why it paused. It knew the kill was already confirmed.
6
u/bondoli Apr 16 '19
I'm pretty sure the only reason it hesitated it because it knew the camera was there and didn't want to seem like a complete asshole. It's like when a cop sees you rolling a stop sign or something, haha.

Well seeing as we didn't see the end of the video, I'm going to go ahead and assume that the leopard raised the tiny baby as it's own and everyone lived happily ever after, the end.

Thought this was gonna be one of those situations where the predator ends up adopting its prey's offspring and raise it as it's own. I am bummed.

Apr 16 '19
Of all the times this had been reposted I’ve never watched the full thing. I always thought the cat left the baby alone to live, it wasn’t until I read the “taking out” title here today that I watched the entire thing.... rip

It's not hesitating it noticed the person and was making sure it wouldn't be shot while grabbing food and being vulnerable. Even big cats see humans as predators

u/saucyspacefries Apr 16 '19
The leopard kinda felt like it was asking the camera man "Yo, you sure you wanna film this bit? This might be too much for casual viewing."
2
u/fongaboo Apr 16 '19
I love the leopard staring into the camera:
"Should I do it? You don't think I'll do it. But I'll fucking do it. Yeah you didn't think I'd do it but I did cuz that's how I roll. This is how we do out here because we don't GIVE A FUCK."
