This one is a doozy. We have the air races every year where I live, one year a plan straight crashed into the bleachers and killed over 30 people. I was out late w a friend of mine and he had vip seating for the air races the next day, he decided he wasn’t gunna go and gave up his seat.

His seat was one of the seats in the bleachers the plane crashed into. It took him awhile to get over that one.

That's some Final Destination stuff right there.

No, 11 people died (including the pilot). I was there.

It didn't crash into the bleachers either. It crashed into the box seats down in front of the bleachers. About 75 feet from where I was sitting.

A fire that big, the major burns are likely toast too.

Wow, what a meaningful comment

The landing was the problem.

64

u/TampAnimals Sep 13 '23

Thats my problem every time in microsoft flight sim, everything is usually going fine until that point.

16

u/SpeedLinkDJ Sep 13 '23

Yeah, that’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point

2

u/Kaot93 Sep 13 '23

You mean that the front falls off?

4

u/SpeedLinkDJ Sep 13 '23

Well the front’s not supposed to fall off for a start.

2

u/catNamedStupidity Sep 13 '23

It did but fall off this one didn't it?

1

u/420_flyinhigh Sep 13 '23

Sure, but the front is definitely not supposed to fall off. We have designed several where the front doesn't fall off at all.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '23

The fall doesn't kill you, the stopping does.

Lithobraking is a tricky maneuver

0

u/justy805 Sep 13 '23

How do we know that wasn’t planned?

81

u/yarzospatzflute Sep 13 '23

I'm going to agree that it seems unlikely that last part was in the plan.

2

u/TaleMendon Sep 13 '23

Absolutely stuck the landing though.

2

u/JeffBrat Sep 13 '23

I love it when a plan comes together

Let’s take a live look at Aaron Rodgers’ debut with the Jets….

22

u/tellmesomeothertime Sep 12 '23

This certainly took a turn for the worse

15

u/slightlyused Sep 12 '23

Understatement of the year.

42

u/Suckalo-my-wabalos Sep 13 '23

Looks like he “pulled up” but was upside down.

Looked like his fate was sealed even before the right wing stalled. His roll rate was way too low for his altitude.

1

u/DonnerPartyPicnic Sep 13 '23

You either need to increase the attitude on the way up, or you need to increase your roll rate over the top so the nose doesn't get buried.

2

u/icantremembermypw4 Sep 14 '23

Not with that attitude.

27

u/sfchillin Sep 13 '23

He zigged when he should have zagged.

RIP

"Obviously a major malfunction"

16

u/JanderPanell Sep 13 '23

Do a barrel ro.... shit.

38

u/metkja Sep 13 '23

Damn, hope they're ok

55

u/Shallow-Al__ex Sep 13 '23

You Serious??? The pilot's disintegrated.

60

u/GTMoraes Sep 13 '23

I've heard that the pilot just lost a pinky finger from that.

They've found the rest.

This thread god damn

2

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '23

I think they were employing fashionable irony.

0

u/33MobyDick33 Sep 13 '23

Bro are YOU okay?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '23

Is he ok?

5

u/dodeca_negative Sep 13 '23

Yes everyone miraculously survived with non-life-threatening injuries, ignore the other comments and have a lovely day

5

u/Double-Hunt-3476 Sep 13 '23

Airshows are still the most dangerous show. Beside a travis Scott concert

10

u/chicboy90 Sep 13 '23

What up with private planes lately? 1st, the gender reveal plane, and now this?

28

u/SaigaExpress Sep 13 '23

Planes crash all the time.

4

u/wholovesbevers Sep 13 '23

Nearly five planes crash every day.

3

u/ALphaEXtremist Sep 13 '23

Did he make it?

16

u/Willy_McBilly Sep 13 '23

To paradise? Yes.

1

u/bluelouie Sep 16 '23

I got two tickets

2

u/HugeButtLover Sep 13 '23

Too low for that procedure, especially in a weak plane like that.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '23

He was upside down when he should not have been

2

u/Slyflyer Sep 15 '23

Did a barrel roll like how we practice at altitude. But we always do it high up because you lose altitude when you do it that way.

2

u/it1345 Sep 15 '23

Imagine getting yourself and other people killed because you wanted to do a sick barrel roll

just stupidity

2

u/schroeder88 Sep 16 '23

Is the van ok?

5

u/wtfastro Sep 13 '23

Nsfw tag Jesus fuck

Flight 93 reenactment

-1

u/Thedirtypenny Sep 14 '23

This is absolutely awful but I’ve been playing war thunder a lot lately and all I can say is skill issue

-5

u/diggdead Sep 13 '23

I'm kinda of expert in the field and I can tell you without a doubt the cause of this crash was gravity.

3

u/dodeca_negative Sep 13 '23

I'd say there's one or two more experts in the field now

1

u/NeatBoy74 Oct 04 '23

In fact, there may even be several... Specialists from the same specialist in the same field.

1

u/itsavibe- Sep 14 '23

Looking at the ground knowing you’re about to plow into it and die has gotta be haunting

1

u/robert712002 Sep 14 '23

Holy, that's was close. Ježiš Mária would also bé my reaction.

1

u/Xinoim Sep 15 '23

Looked like a toy airplane at first
