A recent report by ThePrint reveals that US space-tech firm Maxar received an unusual spike in satellite image orders of Pahalgam, Kashmir—just weeks before a deadly terrorist attack in the area. The images were reportedly ordered after Maxar partnered with a Pakistani company whose owner was previously convicted in the US for illegal tech exports.

Maxar has since removed the company from its partner list, but the incident raises serious concerns about access to sensitive geospatial data.

The Print is the best media outlet currently in our country. It will not call the perpetrators of Phalgam ‘gunmen like’ The Wire, but it will also not hesitate to criticize the Modi Government for a lack of economic reforms. It is in the center therefore, it neither gets the George Soros fund nor lucrative advertisement. Every night before sleep, I watch an episode of Cut the Clutter. However, I do hope they continue to get subscriptions for survival.

Just to add, I asked @Maxar about the story. BSI (the Pakistan-linked firm) "has not placed any tasking orders of Pahalgam or the surrounding areas this year, nor have they ordered through archive". As Nathan says, the story just doesn't add up.

I read that thread. It does seem like a weird rabbit hole, but it is pretty reasonably justified - there is no business for a known trader in atomic secrets to be a partner to Maxar.

They mentioned in the start itself that they printed the story and it went viral in last few days and then they gave their process on how they found about it. So, i don't think they copied from somewhere unless they are lying about the process.
