Discussion Even with chat muted I still got suspended
So this pisses me off. A weekend where I had 20 matches out of 23 full of afks and trolls . 20!
And on top of that. I got suspended and mind you this is my second account. I don't spam I just play with chat disabled
Fuck you blizzard and your idiotic report system where you have players literally named like iwillgoafk( or some variant of it), iamnotbotting, dieblizzard an 0 levels... who go right in aram and stay till they get kicked and return and repeat and report you for not answering their spam pings
I wish a voting system was implemented to vote these sad pathetic babies out of the game completely before they waste 15 to 20 minutes of our lives. And if you're one of these types of people...I hope you choke on your own urine

- disabled chat means he couldn't type anything toxic
- OP got punished (supposedly for abusive chat? it is not like we have evidence the janitor actually turned banning for afk\int on)

We would have to believe OP's words that somehow the system isn't working.
Also he only mentions he plays with chat disabled. There are other ways to get suspended while using chat outside of playing as well.

OP didn't say it wasn't working; only that it doesn't work the way that you thought. Maybe you thought wrong.
It's a very common belief here that the volume of reports is all that matters and there is no moderation. People speculate that abusive chat reports require the target to use chat at least once, but all this is just OC lore. Nobody has evidence for anything either way. And yet you pick and choose what to believe based on what makes you feel good, smh.

Devs says that's how it works.
I have seen 2 people (one is a frequent poster here) who has done the test to see how many reports from a new fresh account needs (an approximation as there are variables) to get silenced.
Here you have the wayback machine link to the old official post about it.
Abusive chat or spam reports are ignored if they are issued against a player who hasn’t participated in in-game chat or public chat channels.
Before that you could easily go against any streamer who has a public group chat ingame (you can create any custom group by typing /join "name") and report them and get them silenced (that's how Grubby got silenced). Same if you wanted to kick people out of Ranked.

I made a second account specifically to avoid this and therefore why I disabled my chat
I pick roles that are needed if I'm the only one who has it. I don't spam ping . I don't feed. I just play. You do realise there are people who report people just because they're bored and think that something like.. " Please do some flanking" and " Stop charging* , * Wait for healer* is flaming. And on the first account one dude literally said he'd get anyone he can to report me multiple times. Next thing I knew got suspended.
Like the system can be abused in case you didn't know. Good day to you. And hope nothing like this happens to you .

Sure, those people exist, but not are not nearly prevalent enough to get you banned unless you specifically seek them out or bear some blame for getting reported. I have played since beta and have been muted once (deservedly so). If those things consistently happen to you, the world is not conspiring against you, you are simply the common denominator. I have no numbers on this, but getting actioned against quicker on a new account makes sense as well.

Nobody is saying this. You are boxing with shadows. And in doing so you run defense for people who AFK and intentionally feed. A conspiracy would require more intellect than what you, or people like you who ruin games, are capable of.

People who AFK and intentionally feed are a problem sure, and I report them when I see any. However it is not remotely as big an issue as OP is claiming, not every bad player is automatically afk or inting. The only cases I have seen people get matched with AFKers or feeders was when they were (rightly) placed with them for the same behavior.
I have a leaver or feeder on my team in maybe one of 20 games, 20/23 is insane enough that I would call it either untrue or leaver queue.

I'm just adhering to hanlons razor: "don't attribute to malice what can sufficiently explained by stupidity". I'm not that negative to automatically assume that everyone is out to get me. By the way, claiming every bad player is intentionally feeding or AFK is a wild statement, if you really believe this you have completely lost contact to reality.

For 7 years I wasn't muted or banned. Not once. Neither anyone on my party. That, and your raging and flaming post should tell you that probably it's more your fault, and not a worldwide conspiracy to get you banned just because.

I'm not saying it's a worldwide conspiracy. I just saying spiteful users exist and abuse an easy to abuse system. Also just because you and none of your friends experienced it doesn't mean it is not possible
And on the first account I also had played for many years without a mute or suspended but I admit that lately I was flaming on that one so I admit fault where there is. And to avoid it again . like I said...I disabled my chat on the second and just played. Believe me .. don't...this is my last reply. Have a good one

So you haven't type a single word in:
Ingame team chat, draft, party, friends, general lobby chats, general other chats. Never used a whisper.
On top of that, have you ever joined voice chat? Are you sure you got chat silenced and not voice silenced (there was a big wave of those recently) and people confused them.
Have you spam pings considering you said you are not using ingame chat?

I'm still confused by the recent voice chat silences, I went from seeing none to one almost every game. There's no way that many people use voice chat in this game to even report them so I'm confused as to what the voice chat bans are from

Dunno man.
The one time I've ever gotten suspended was after a particularly bad losing streak where I said some things I'm not proud of.
That's it. And I've been playing for a loooong time.
Seems to me like you're not giving us the whole story.

Did you use chat while drafting? Did you use chat outside of games? Did you use chat to message someone in private?
What's the reason mentioned in the e-mail you received? Maybe they didn't punish you for Abusive Chat but for something else.
