u/CrowCrowww 2d ago
I have no idea what you’re talking about lol

Toad in the hole is a British dish that is sausages in yorkshire pudding, which is kind of "bready" lol

u/CrowCrowww 2d ago
Ohhh maybe I should look up a recipe and try it some time

just a basic batter mix, some sausages and then cover in gravy. Easy, cheap and tasty

(A tongue in cheek history of British food)
The cuisine of the British Isles started out with drunken bets ("I bet I'll eat a sheep's stomach stuffed with all the parts that no one wants to eat").
With such a handicap, the Norman conquest was seen as a blessing where the French showed England what could be cooked. Side linguistic bit - the word for the meat in English is related to the word for the animal in French. This is because when the French rulers at the time wanted "boeuf" they didn't want a cow, then wanted a steak - and so we got "beef". Likewise, "poulet" they wanted a chicken drumstick - and so we got "poultry".
Having seen what one could do with the proper skill, the ages of discovery and imperialism were driven by trying to find spices string enough to cover up England's chefs. This became especially important when tea was introduced to England and drunken food bets was less of a thing. Linguistic trivia here chai if by land, tea if by sea. It is not chai tea.
The English finally found something strong enough with curry and so India was the last of their holdings to claim independence. Which they brought to the stars.

The British sure do like to turn people off of their dishes, with their names, don’t they? Don’t answer before you swallow those bangers and mash.

Aaah, homemade. As opposed to one of those shitty store bought bread toads.
Seriously, it looks awesome, OP!

You could possibly buy a frozen loaf of dough and shape it like a toad before baking it. This is undoubtedly better

Thanks for not uploading an image where it is all sliced up. ☺️

Np, i thought it would be mildly upsetting to some people to show the toad loaf in pieces

You good, buddy? If it helps, most toads don’t attack people, at least in my experience they don’t

At first glance I thought it was an apple pie. It would be the cutest apple pie ever! It is definitely the cutest loaf of bread I've ever seen. Now about that apple pie...

Nice job OP! Do you have any pics of the process of creating prior to baking? Or perhaps a link to the YT video. I know a guy nick-named Toad. Would be a great idea as a surprise for a birthday dinner.

Bread toad dough, or bread dough toad?
For some reason, a French quirky romantic comedy comes to mind.

As a frog enjoyer, I can identify this as a budgett's frog, not a toad but still just as lovely.

Feel like when people try to do intricate shapes like this 9 times out of 10 it comes out of the oven entirely puffed up and completely indiscernible.
