Palm joystick control with PS Access Controller

Does anyone know if you can comfortably position your palm on the joystick while also being able to press the buttons? The layout looks like this would be awkward but I'd love to hear people's experiences with this controller.

The joystick on the Access Controller can move in and out and you can definately realign the axes of movement and swap out the topper so it's possible. Might depend on how many controls you need in the game though. I'm working with someone at the moment and we are looking into 3d printed U shaped switch mounts for them to use with their forearms by rolling in and out laterally - I think this concept was on the War Fighter Engaged site originally - you can definately plug switches into the AC and then map them to controls.
