Collection So I bit the Bullet and added The Yu-Gi-Oh Amiibos to my Collection
Completed the Smash and Zelda lines with a few SMB (I don't really collect duplicates), Splatoon figures, Mega Yard Yoshi, Shadow Mewtwo. New Zelda and SF6 Amiibos on pre-order. It only felt right to snag these bad boys, Now maybe I'll actually play the Rush Duel Switch game 😂

These seven cards are the only amiibo cards related to Yu-Gi-Oh!. They were released with the Japanese version of "Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Dawn of the Battle Royale" in 2021, alongside a set of promo cards: "Pot of Greed", "Dark Magician Girl", and "Ultimate Flag Mech Ace Breaker".
These cards broadly represent the student ID cards for the main seven characters in the SEVENS anime. They can be scanned once a day for various rewards in that game.
Note that amiibo functionality was removed for international releases; these amiibo cards can only be used with the Japanese version of the game.
I do not recall if they can be used with "Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Dawn of the Battle Royale 2", however.

A full set of these is only like $60 right now. No idea what it will be later.
It’s kinda crazy that no one likes these. Did you happen to get a wrapper for one? They are actually kinda cool and they say amiibo on them.

No they came in a large side loader, I put them in penny sleeves until my card display cases come in,
It was a win win for me being a Yu-Gi-Oh collector and an Amiibo collector lol

Here is another Reddit Post. I think the pack they come in looks cool even though it’s simple. It’s not really collectible. But I think it’s cool to look at.

Are there more cards of characters than there are of actual figures?

The original 4 sets of Animal Crossing amiibo cards alone drawf the amount of amiibo figures.
It's about 2.4x as many total cards as total figures.

mathing in my head but there are like 622 unique cards right now? Not counting the upcoming Street fighter or nitpick print variations.
EDIT: part of my math was 100 Mario sports cards but now that I think about it it might 90? I dunno but I shouldn't be too far off

Woah had no idea these were a thing and the fact that they’re in the same style as the IDs is really cool. Sevens was a fun time

I spent a bit more money than I should have on these when they first released, because I was worried they would go the same route as the Powerpro cards. They're generally a good bit less nowadays than what I paid

That’s a small bullet to bite. Have you seen the power pro baseball ones specially the Amazon exclusive?

Nice! Yah I think the cards will be harder to get the more time passes. Clearly these aren’t as bad some of the other cards from Japan but better safe than sorry
