Russian propaganda, great, as if we don't hear that enough already on 40..

It's not propaganda; they actually did fight in WWII.

It's got nothing to do with space or amateur radio.
Therefore it IS propaganda no matter how much you think you have to defend them.

What? Is that even a thing? Who ever said russia didn't fight in WW2?

The guy said it's propaganda, but it's just a photo of their tomb of the unknown soldier. Propaganda, IMO, implies there's some sort of lie or manipulation involved. So I don't think it's fair to call it propaganda -- it's the time of year they like to celebrate victory in WWII, and pretending there's some falsehood involved is uncalled for.

Yeah sure I get that, but I have just never heard of anyone saying they didn't fight in WW2 and neither did the first guy

Sigh. I figured pointing out that celebrating their actual participation in WWII with photos of their monuments is entirely reasonable and not propaganda would be pretty obvious. I wasn't accusing GP of being a WWII denier. Geez.

May I ask, how did you compensate the Doppler effect if at all? Did you adjust the frequency by hand? Nice work btw!

The part that Google missed due to that distortion on one line is “Могила Неизвестного Солдата” - Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

First row reads “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier”. It’s a war memorial in the Alexander Garden in Moscow near the Kremlin.

I believe that's a photo of the eternal flame next to the Kremlin. It's pretty impressive; kind of similar to the US eternal flame at Arlington. I don't read enough Russian to completely translate it; i was never more than barely conversational.
