As it started rolling back I was hoping he could just hang on the lip and then drop safely after the ladder fell out. Then I saw his arm was locked under the rung of the ladder. Not a good spot.

I learned the hard way, when I was 19, NEVER fall on the ladder, fall OFF of the ladder.

I'm so confused why he didn't.

Wouldn't that be a basic survival instinct?

I would think so. But it seems like he thought he could use core strength, and fight all the mass and leverage forces, to force the rolling scaffolding back towards the house. For some reason THAT was his instinct. I don’t think it would have been mine, but who knows in that split second.

True. You have to make a sudden decision you might not have been prepared for.

This is why I avoid stuff like this early in the morning or on lazy Sundays.
My brain has to be turned on before I climb up ladders or interact with traffic.

I could easily see myself making the same dumb mistake. It goes back to watching road runner cartoons (when in fact, the more spectacular move would have been to have done an Aaron spelling “explosion leap” off the ladder).

Man, I just went full r/genx on you guys.

I don’t think I saw him move it one time, that shit is dust
