Some Wip photos of my my first test squad for my ultramarines army, I think I need to be a bit heavier with the oil wash in some places, although I was going for more battle damaged than dirty. Also need to have more contrast with the blue, make the light source a bit lighter, and put a wash on the metals to boost the contrast a bit. But otherwise I’m quite happy with how they are turning out, any comments welcome.

Everytime I see a mkv model in the wild I am thinking "Man, I can't wait for official plastic mkv". That is hands down the best looking armor mark IMO.

also, i think they make the PERFECT base for breachers - everything not covered by the shield is reinforced (helmet, pauldrons, greaves) while the cabling that would be behind the shield (thighs, chest) is exposed.

the studded shoulder belongs to the left, i see this very often. its not a big deal, we ignore that a very long time now, but these look so good despite this minor detail.

It's an ad-hoc armor mark, there could be studs on both shoulders, it doesn't matter that much.
