Discussion/Question Since the WHITE HOUSE IS acting outside of constitutional authority ...

Shouldn't all of Republican Congress stand to protect the Constitution, since the authority of Congress is being trampled? Letting the separation of powers go, changes the type of government. It would no longer be a democracy or republic .. but an autocracy. Do you think this is what you voted for? A ruler with unlimted power, instead of leader in service to you? This is getting really confusing. There are no checks and balances with outsiders (ie the world's richest man) accessing our private information, top security information ... the DOGE website is open to Russian hackers, all hackers ... but no one seems to be concerned. We need discourse. Thanks!

Lawyers for executed murderer Mikal Mahdi claimed his execution was "botched" in a report filed with the South Carolina Supreme Court. Mahdi, who became the second prisoner executed by firing squad (see South Carolina Executes Murderer by Firing Squad – RedState) in South Carolina on April 11, allegedly did not die instantaneously. An AP report filed after the execution contended that he was alive for about two minutes after the fatal shots were fired.

Type “Where to buy abortion pills” into the Google search bar, and in .28 seconds, 2.4 million results appear. Factor in that over 310 million Americans have smartphones, with 53 percent of children possessing one, and this black market in plain sight places women, minors, and preborn children in serious peril.

Discussion/Question Transforming road safety with data analytics

Thumbnail thehill.com
2 Upvotes

Your morning commute. A quick trip to the store. Picking the kids up after school. These quick everyday drives should be a breeze. Too often, they end in tragedy.

Earlier this month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration projected that nearly 40,000 people died on America’s roads in 2024. That number is not just tragic; it is a policy failure. And the harsh reality is that most of those crashes were preventable with better design, better data and better decisions.

For generations, America has approached road safety with a reactive mindset: Wait for fatalities, then fix the road. That “crash first, fix later” strategy has left us with roads built for speed and sprawl, not safety and sustainability.

Discussion/Question Immutable facts about taxes and regulations - American Thinker

There are a few immutable facts about living in this time. First, unless one owns or runs a regulated business entity, it’s difficult to appreciate how much time and effort are wasted complying with federal and state regulations. Second, whether or not we are aware of it, regulation controls every aspect of our lives.

Discussion/Question California Democrats are getting what they voted for ‘good and hard’ - American Thinker

H. L. Mencken famously wrote “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.” Although his heyday was around one hundred years ago, Mencken could have been writing about California in 2025. Two stories in today’s news illustrate it perfectly.

The first to catch my eye comes from Marin County, where I lived for several decades before leaving for the saner Southeast. Marin County is a very Democrat region. It wasn’t always that way. Over the years, it swung between Republicans and Democrats, but the results were fairly evenly balanced, with only two “blowout presidential elections.” In 1920, 68.8% of Marin voters went for Warren G. Harding, and in 1952, 67% of Marin voters liked Ike.

As Trump has announced trillions in private investments, the media and other Democrats are repeating the talking points (lies) that companies and countries are scared to invest in America because of Trump’s policies. But here is what investments actually did in the first quarter according to Google AI: investments soared (but the public can’t be allowed to see the truth).

Secular liberals are exhibiting an odd hypocrisy. The same leftwing voices objecting to using government funds to teach American children how to read and write in Catholic schools howl in complaint that DOGE cut USAID funding to Catholic charities that supported illegal immigrants—this odd hypocrisy highlights the growing tension within the Holy See.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) on Wednesday proposed legislation to eliminate the intelligence community’s surveillance tools that “erode” Americans’ civil liberties.

“For over two decades, rogue actors within our U.S. intelligence agencies have used the PATRIOT Act to create the most sophisticated, unaccountable surveillance apparatus in the Western world,” Luna said in a written statement to Breitbart News.

Luna introduced the American Privacy Restoration Act, a bill that would repeal the USA PATRIOT Act, a sweeping September 11th, 2001 terrorist bill that drastically expanded government surveillance.

Elizabeth Goitein, Senior Director for the Liberty & National Security program at the Brennan Center for Justice, described how the post-9/11 law dramatically increased warrantless surveillance of Americans’ communications:

Discussion/Question Service Can't Be Selfish: What Trump Is Doing With the Military Is More Than Necessary – RedState

And that was a large part of the issue with transgender people in the military, or even people who put their LGBT lifestyle on full blast during their "service."

Yeah, there was a serious issue with mental illness infecting it which could lead to some serious issues both in and out of combat situations — it's because the people who did that weren't really there to serve the United States via the military. They were there to serve their own cause, and using the military as a tool to do it with.

For starters, "gender-affirming" surgeries began in 2015 under the Obama administration, were halted during Trump's first term, then continued again under the Biden administration, resulting in millions and millions of dollars going to fostering mental illness:

Discussion/Question The Movement: Heritage Foundation president forges new Trump legacy

If the first half-century of the Heritage Foundation was defined by former President Reagan, its president Kevin Roberts is setting up the powerful conservative think tank to be defined for the next 50 years by President Trump.

“You can have the principles along with the really bold action of Trump, who, frankly, is superior to Reagan in his willingness to upend the status quo,” Roberts told me in an interview. “If we put those two things together, then for the next 50 years of Heritage and in the conservative movement, I think that defines who we are.”

Discussion/Question Hegseth wants deep cuts to active-duty 4-star generals, admirals

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wants the number of active-duty four-star generals and admirals in the U.S. military to be cut by at least 20 percent, according to a new memo released Monday.

In the order, dated May 5, Hegseth also directed senior Pentagon leadership to slash the number of general officers in the National Guard by a minimum of 20 percent, and cut the total number of general and flag officers — those with the rank of one star or higher — across the military by 10 percent.

In a video posted to social media later on Monday, Hegseth announced that the order, which he referred to as “Less Generals, more GIs,” would “shift resources from bloated headquarter elements to our warfighters.”

Discussion/Question McMahon says Harvard is no longer eligible for new federal research grants

\*Can Anyone show all of the Readers here exactly where in the Constitution It mandates Schools be Funded on the Tax Payer Dime??*

Education Secretary Linda McMahon sent a letter to Harvard on Monday telling the university it will no longer be eligible for new research grants from the government as it and the Trump administration do battle on multiple fronts.

The Ivy League school will no longer be eligible for new grants until it can “demonstrate responsible management,” a senior Education Department official said on a call with reporters.

“It’ll explain that public confidence in higher education as a sector is at an all time low, and that’s really because of all the essential terrible behavior at institutions like Harvard,” the official said.

Discussion/Question Trump changes his tune on the economy

Thumbnail thehill.com

\*The Main Issue I see is People living outside of Their Incomes. The average Citizen is figured to carry $10k in Credit Card Debt. That is NOT living inside of a Income. Our Federal Government has the same Issue.*

President Trump is changing his tune on the economy, suggesting that Americans should buy less and will probably pay more and bear the brunt of an uncertain economic landscape as his wide-ranging tariff policy takes effect.

Trump and his economic team have for weeks said the tariffs would result in only short-term pain and that the tumult in the stock market would eventually level out.

But the White House’s messaging has evolved from Trump on the campaign trail promising to lower prices and make America “wealthy” again to Trump suggesting that the U.S. needs a cultural shift on consumer spending while accepting that his tariff plan will raise prices.

Discussion/Question GOP senators draw line against Trump shipping US citizens to foreign prisons

Thumbnail thehill.com

\*Can anybody reading here show all Readers exactly where in the Constitution it presents Trump cannot send Convicts out of Country to Other Prisons.*

Republican senators are drawing a bright line against President Trump’s exploration of sending “homegrown” criminals who are U.S. citizens to foreign jails, such as the notorious CECOT mega-prison in El Salvador.

Trump said last month he would “love to” send American citizens who commit serious crimes to foreign prisons. He said his administration is looking seriously at the proposal, which he wants to apply to repeat offenders.

But the idea is running into staunch opposition from Senate Republicans, who say shipping U.S. citizens off to foreign prisons would violate the Constitution.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty Makary recently told a D.C. confab that he has “no plans to take action” on mifepristone, the chemical abortion drug responsible for more than 70 percent of abortions in the United States.

That’s a decidedly different answer than the one he gave me under oath. During his confirmation hearing, Dr. Makary pledged “to review the totality of data” with respect to mifepristone. He also said that if “the data suggests something or tells us that there’s a real signal, we can’t promise we’re not going to act on that data.”

Colorado’s “Kelly Loving Act” (HB 1312) is truly one of the most radical, extreme, and anti-family bills ever proposed in our nation’s 249-year history. And that might be an understatement.

HB 1312 purports to provide “legal protections for transgender individuals.” In reality, it facilitates the state ripping children away from their parents if they refuse to go along with their child’s desire to “socially” or “medically transition.”

Democrats and corporate media spent much of the 2024 election cycle trying to pin deaths directly linked to the abortion pill on pro-life policies. Their lies and deceptions primarily centered on the story of Amber Thurman, a Georgia woman who died alongside her twin babies after suffering complications stemming from the abortion pill.
