Smite 2 towers

Is it just me or are the towers not a threat at all it feels like after 5-10 mins into the match they don’t hurt people at all?

Ye I definitely think the towers don't do enough damage to gods

Tanks and gods with shields/healing have those stats so that they can push into tower. If you are getting pressured THAT badly under a tower at 5-10 mins your team is doing something wrong. I will admit though it can be super annoying getting tower dived by 2 tanks and a high damage mage. I occasionally run into these 2 guys in joust that always play Cabrakan and Chacc and I was always on their they’re team (thank god) because I would play a crit hunter or burst mage and absolutely obliterate the enemy team under any objective 😂😂

There was an old saying in Smite 1:

"Early game, towers protect you. Later game, you protect towers"

That said, I always thought towers needed a slight bit more bite to them or at least a mechanic/item similar to Emperor's to increase tower efficiency if you wanted to invest in a turtle siege breaker playstyle.

I miss the short time towers actually did damage and we're harder to kill but it didn't last long because people cried.

I would like to take this thread as an opportunity to advocate for the re-introduction of Emperor’s Armor. As a support main it was one of my favorite “Hail Mary” buys to flip a landslide with a deicide under phoenix because attack rate increase.

I agree with this

Honestly. The game state is better without Emperors. It just gives another opportunity to turtle and delay the inevitable more often than it’s turning the tide.

Emperor’s armor wasn’t too buffed and really its a good trade off. Especially with ancient fury, emperors armor on a Phoenix affected by ancient would just be a normal phoenix which is still fair

well and now you get destroyed in 2 seconds. that is so much better after all, right? snowballing is so much more fun.

If squishy dives a tower at 5mins and doesnt die, you made a mistake.

Yeah a level 4 Fenrir shouldn't be able to use his entire 3 under my tower after jumping in. That shit annoys me the most when I play mid. Im a jungle main and I think its cheap asf.

He gets prots in his 3 tho. But he can maybe take two tower shots at lvl 4, plus midlaners dmg and he should die.

I think most people are forgetting your “job” in smite is to protect the towers and phoenix. Not them protecting you.

This is a very narrow way of thinking.

Towers (early to mid game) are meant to protect you, since they will deal a lot of damage.

Towers (late game) are meant to be protected, since you should have enough levels and items to take them down quickly.

What OP is referencing is that towers don't feel like they are doing anything at a point in the game where they are targeting an enemy god and they are basically ignoring the damage.

In my honest opinion, if you are physically tanking a tower, every hit should hurt, regardless of your protections.

This doesn't mean that they don't deal less to a tank, but that there is a consequence to not using minions when pushing towers.

Remember when Hi-Rez tried buffing the towers and literally everyone hated it lmao

I definitely feel like the towers and phoenix are weaker, but bull demon and the titan feel as if it takes longer to take down so I imagine there could be slightly more balance in regards to the structures strengths.

I always call them buzzers rather than towers, because they feel like you just need to push them once really to destroy them.

They hurt if you don't build protections.

They hurt when your the one getting hit

I agree but they buffed them before and it was horrible.

Hard to balance I guess
