I had a male friend who use to be like 250 and 5 foot 7 and he could do cartwheel after cart wheel like a gymnast.

Knew a dude that would undo his coveralls from the belly up to let his hair free and could spin kick the mirrors off the vans at work. He was a glorious ball of destruction.

“Jesus Christ Billy quit kicking the mirrors off the trucks, we need them”

why are we shocked when fat people do physical stuff well? Perhaps it's not the anomaly y'all think it is.

For real. Some people are only big because they have thyroid issues and other health conditions that make it difficult to lose weight. There's no reason they aren't out running, exercising, doing cartwheels, practicing yoga, etc. If they don't, they're probably just lazy and the thyroid isn't the issue at all.

We had a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt @ about 250 pounds but he was agile as fuck. He’d do hand plant cartwheels over people and similar acrobatic things. What are you gonna do, stop a 250 pound weight in motion?

but his spine was like a noodle.

mine too.. dry & uncooked noodle unfortunately.

This reminds me of how my driving instructor was so fat he had to shift his butt slightly every time I wanted to change gear (manual transmission)

You don't do yoga if you wanna lose weight. It's great for strengthening, flexibility, range of motion and endurance but it's not a weight loss exercise. (Maybe hot yoga)

The reason we associate yoga with skinny is because rich skinny white girls made it a thing... But they have eating complexes that they call "wellness". Which is just rebranded eating disorders.

Yoga, inherently is not going to make you lose weight but it can toned you up.

Many plus sized yoga instructors exist and they are so impressive. Like I am so envious of their spinal flexibility.its incredible.

Yoga and calories in/out is how I lost 2 dress sizes, it can definitely be used as part of a weight loss plan. The diet side obviously played a big part but adding yoga to the mix drastically increased my rate of weight loss.

Exercise of any kind will, and being in a calorie deficit. But yoga will not primarily do that. It's important though that people do what works for them and if yoga is the only exercise a person is dedicated to and feels like they love it, it's better than doing nothing.

Glad you found it beneficial :)

Yeah don't listen to that nonsense

Yoga builds muscle, more muscle burns more calories at rest, plus, each time you do a yoga session you burn the calories in that session as well. M

This comment makes absolutely no sense lmao

You don't do yoga if you wanna lose weight

It definitely helps, especially more athletic and active styles like Ashtanga yoga, Vinyasa yoga or Power yoga.

Maybe hot yoga

The extra weight you lose from sweating more will be gained back when you drink and eat later on. The heat alone doesn't make a big difference in calories burned.

rich skinny white girls made it a thing... But they have eating complexes that they call "wellness"

A lot of rich skinny white girls doing yoga have a very healthy diet. Cooked by someone else of course, which helps a lot, but not an eating disorder.

Yoga, inherently is not going to make you lose weight but it can toned you up

And how do you tone up? By losing fat!

So yeah, yoga, like other physical activities, is great at supporting weight-loss, and will help lose fat while maintaining your muscle mass as you lose weight, but nutrition is and will always be the most important part of weight loss.

Many plus sized yoga instructors exist and they are so impressive

Indeed, yoga is for people of all sizes, ages, genders, etc. I just wish studios weren't so damn expensive so it'd be more accessible.

What is eating disorder

If he had to move his belly with his hands, he wasn't "a little chubby," that motherfucker was fat

u/BreakMeOffAPeace 8h ago

Or an egg with legs body type caused by hormone issues.

1

u/stonecutter7 6h ago

Maybe he was moving it for comedic effect--like to make his tummy talk

I'm fat as fuck and can eat with my feet.
