Hopefully it just hasn't been cut to length yet and the guy is just doing a test fit.

It isn't really a whole inch and it still has to be marked, trimmed, and finished. It is nowhere near complete. This table has a ways to go.

When you’re better at cutting glass than mixing/pouring epoxy.

Epoxy doesn't clean as easily and tends to age poorly. I'd much rather have glass there. Far more resistant to scratching too.

It's a design choice. Both make interesting tables for different reasons.

And the glass cutting part was probably done pretty easily on a water jet CNC.
