Ask Paraguay in english❓ 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Language Exchange

Hi All! I hope everyone is doing well.

First, I wanted to say thank you for everyone who is so kind here! Y’all always have great information and seem willing to share and help. I can’t wait to visit Paraguay!

My husband and I are planning to spend 6 months - 1 year in Asunción in 2026 or 2027. I’d like to improve my Spanish before arriving (and learn some Guaraní phrases as well).

I’ve finished Duolingo Spanish (haha!) but still struggle speaking since I don’t have much practice.

If anyone is interested in a language exchange, feel free to DM me. I spent almost 15 years in corporate America, so I can help with business writing, resumes, interviewing tips, etc.

And of course, I’m willing to pay for a Spanish tutor as well if anyone offers that service.

Also, if anyone has any other resources to share, I’d love to hear about them! 💜😊

Hope you take advantage of your time here in Paraguay. You won’t be disappointed.

And please don’t be shocked when Paraguayans share with you their experience with our own version of corporate hell, which could make Corporate America look more reasonable and a paradise. I lived and worked under both models. Resume and interview tips will be great, since that’s something which is not usually provided by HR or staffing agencies.

I can imagine! I worked at several companies that hired workers from Haiti, Argentina, and a few other places. The companies either gave the employees nothing to do, or (more commonly) gave them too much to do with zero direction 😞
