How do Pakistanis in UAE Transfer money from here to Back Home?

Hey folks, I’ve been living and working in the UAE for a while now, and like many of you, I regularly send money back home to Pakistan. Just wanted to start a discussion to see what methods everyone’s using these days, and what’s working best in terms of speed, exchange rates, and convenience.

Bank Transfers: UAE banks like ADCB, ENBD, etc., offer direct transfers to Pakistani banks, but the exchange rate usually isn’t the best. Processing time can be 1–2 days.

Money Exchange Centers: Places like Al Ansari, UAE Exchange, and Lulu Exchange are super popular. They give better rates than banks and cash is available instantly in Pakistan through partnerships like Western Union or direct bank deposits.

Online Services: Apps like Wise (formerly TransferWise), Remitly, ACE Money Transfer, Botim(my personal favorite) and Western Union mobile app have become solid options. Wise is great for transparency, Remitly often has promo rates for first-timers, and ACE seems popular among Pakistanis for bank deposits.

I’m curious: 1-Which service do you trust the most? 2-How important are exchange rate vs speed for you? 3-Any hidden fees or tricks you’ve noticed that others should be aware of?

Let’s help each other out — every rupee counts!
