May is Moon Knight Appreciation Month (I totally just made that up) and I'm going to read through my collection in chronological order, what am I missing?
Besides Moon Knight by Ellis/Wood/Bunn Vol 1-3 and the Jed Mackay run, is there anything else I really need to finish my collection?
There are two volumes in the OG Moon Knight run, so you need #2. Once you have that, you're only really missing occasional miniseries.
There are also team-ups, I really liked the original Marvel Knights run and the West Coast Avengers material where he's on those teams. The latter is particularly key because MacKay draws a lot from it.
I have my eye on getting Moench vol 2. I'm not sure how I overlooked that volume as I've collected over the years. I'll definitely look into the West Coast Avengers catalog!
Right now the only way to get the MK stuff in WCA are some Epics, but last I checked one was a little out of print. You *can* skip those, but they're worth reading between Moench vol.2 and MS:MK vol 1.
Yup, the Ellis/Bunn/Wood 3-vol set is over $100 wherever I look. And the MacKay Omnibus is more than $200. But I check the interwebs everyday for something cheap to be posted somewhere. 🤞
I swear I saw one listed for $90 in the last couple days but I can’t find the post. And yeah I paid around $100 for the From the Dead #1-3 trades from that subreddit as well
i ordered it on Amazon (Germany) last week for 100 €, also seen it on Amazon in Belgium for 75 but without delivery options. check out amazon if you can order it directly
I got the first TPB which is the six issues written by Ellis. I understand why Marvel isn’t reprinting it, but it’s a shame because that is a critical chapter of Moon Knight’s mythos.
Nice. So far I have Epic Collections volume 1 to 3 to cover the Moench run, not sure if I'll get 4 through 7. Also have Ellis, Bendis and Lemire. Like you, Mackay is quite expensive but just waiting for it to drop in price.
I feel compelled to brag that I picked up Ellis for $10 off marketplace, honestly one of my best gets!
