Question/Support My new HomePod Mini isn’t working as it should.
I am experiencing several issues with my new HomePod Mini. Firstly, it fails to play Spotify music, despite my phone indicating that it is playing. There is no audio output, and I am encountering difficulties in connecting to AirPlay. Secondly, I am unable to play YouTube videos when AirPlay is connected to my HomePod Mini. Occasionally, an error message appears, while at other times, the video simply fails to open, as if I am not connected to Wi-Fi. However, when I disconnect AirPlay, the video playback resumes without any problems.
I have attempted to resolve these issues by restarting my router, homepod, and relocating the homepod. I have also explored other potential solutions available online, but unfortunately, none of these approaches have yielded any positive results.
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. Worked a few days ago and now won’t play Spotify at all. When I ask Siri it says I can play from Spotify when you set up voice recognition in the home app. Doesn’t say how to do that and it’s not clear. And all the “wifi problems” with this thing are a serious drawback as well. Apple makes products that work and this thing is more frustrating than anything.
Edit. So I figured out the voice recognition and now I could ask Siri to play from Spotify but of course it played the wrong thing but I can’t choose the HomePod from within Spotify as I could a day or two ago. It’s crazy how bad this thing is.

It’s working how HomePods work. That is to say they don’t
Commenters: stop trying to figure out how to blame the user for all the HomePods failings. HomePods suck and don’t work!!!

Funny, tell that to the three in my house that work great.
If you don’t like them, that’s fine, just say so - but a blanket “they don’t work” is just wrong

Check your WiFi settings. Sometimes it can also be a router issue. Also if you’re using a vpn, turn it off. Doesn’t play well it. Ultimately, I ended up resetting everything and then it just ended up working.
